I guess you have to really love music in order to create high quality music unless you have some very unusual talent. And that's exactly what george does.He creates quality music, lyrically and instrumentally, while others are content to just crap out one-hit wonders & have their 15min of fame otherwise they rely heavily on the music industry to make them "stars".But almost always face a terrible fall because they dont have that same genuine passion & moral integrity that artists like George do.
I remember what an outrage there was when he won for Favorite R & B Male. There were so many people in the African American Community who felt that he Stole from Bobby Brown, Terrance Trent D'Arby amongst others. Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight, Spike Lee, and even Public Enemy also spoke out. Also, during that time The Long Running African American Magazine criticized him along with Sheena Easton, and NKOTB as being "White Artists" stealing Music from Black Artists.
@laminage I am a Black-American that listens to his music and he is one my favorite artists. "Faith" is my fave album by him because I am an R&B fan and I consider it to be an R&B album, and the outrage to me is B.S. He covered an Isley Brother's song in the WHAM! Make it Big album and he did a song with a Aretha Franklin because she is one of his favorite artists. He is influenced by R&B and soul you can hear it in his voice and his music he didn't steal from nobody.
@laminage He appeals to both black and white listeners and that is rare. The album "Faith" was #1 on the R&B Album Chart and people that listen to rap were buying his album. He crossed color barriers in the US and for him to be criticized for it is silly. In the WHAM! albums you can hear the soul in his voice as well. George was influenced by black music from the start I know my comments are lengthy but I had to get that out.
@TheOptimod I think it was just frustration. Also, isn't it ironic. George's Music is still popular all over the world while Bobby Brown, Terrence Trent D'Arby's career are all but in the toilet.
Love.. Love.. Love.. his honesty.. his journey comes through so openly in his music.. I think he and Kenny look great together and when you see photos.. Georgios looks incredibly happy what more could anyone want to see if you truly care about him for what he has given to the world.. giving acceptance back is small in comparison to all he has given of himself. I don't know him.. but simply love his music.
Speaking as a strieght woman GM was and is a great rock n roll fantsey. And his sexuality, who gives a shit. Regardless of his sexuality I was / am never going to bed him anyway. That is why it is called a FANTSEY.
@SuperFluxxx It particularly didn't end well in America, where he was indeed massive. He was like pop music's ultimate God in 1988. It's such an incredible shame how much my country has underrated him now because of the toilet incident and his being gay. Quite a few of the women here who probably were fans of him now act as if he committed a massive scam on them just because he happened to be gay.
@RocStarr913 Well I guess the America has to learn to be more open minded. :P George should be respected for his work. If the fact of him being gay made them change their mind about his music, then who needs that kind of fans anyway? Like George gives a damn! :D

He is so right when he said he was headed in the wrong direction for fame. I believe that he could have been on par with Michael and Madonna

@laminage And blacks complain about racism - hypocrites - they're their own worst enemies.
