the best live dvd he made..this was soooo exceptioonal; at montriux jazz festival you had to be the truth..other performers also shined on there AS well like james brown and average white band
Hes so sexy and talented his father sucks man what ever happen to a good old fashion cut ass y he had to kill him man smt RIP Oh Marvin Marvin you were the best
Every single person on stage was feeling it!!! The background singers, the band, the fine lady playing the cow bell and congas (sorry, forgot her name but she has a channel on YouTube). And Marvin was being Marvin!!
They don't make it funky like this anymore !!! This man is truly missed i grew up with him and his music and for that i'am truly blessed. I'am 63 so i was their from the start to his awful death. My heart is still broken.
I advise all of you guys to read Marvin's autobiography if you haven't yet. It's a must-read especially if you're a Marvin fan. It's a book I read about 20-25 years ago. In it you will find about his life time struggle with his father, his rebellious ways with his father, Motown and Barry Gordy, and all things he considered to be his demons. All of these things contributed to Marvin becoming a paranoia Schytzophranic.
Nah, OldRaver, Marvin was probably back stage getting high. If you read Marvin's autobiography he wrote before he passed, he told you that he never could enter the stage without getting a good bump coke. He stated that on several occasions that his brother, who was one his backup singer, would start the show for him with all lights down because he hadn't gotten high yet. Marvin did this because he was terribly shy and after all his yrs in the industry he still needed a high to face the stage.
I love that you think that was Sheila E. Huge compliment to me! I did that tour over 30 yrs ago, name in the credits is me Sandy..more on facebook see Sandra Lee Akaka.I know you wrote this a while back but I just now saw it.
Awesome work Sandra! I looked you up on FB after watching that awesome version of Heard it through the grapevine in Montreux! I listen to that everyday at least 5 times a day, on the way to work on the train, on the way home, when i get home! Love it. What is the deal with the guy playing trumpet in the old worksmans hat? That is cool!
Great stuff!. Big Marvin! I'll be dancing all night now!

Not a bad guy, just made his statements too loud and gave his son a chance to live out his self in perhaps a more prominent way.
