  • gad, here she looks like boy george going all out for Halloween

  • sii por favor subtitulenlo en español...

  • Alguien podría subtitular en español este video

  • She was sheer beauty... WOW!

  • 4:52 "What do you think killed Gia?"

    "Lack of love."

Drug addiction is only a symptom of a much bigger problem.

  • who are these people being interviewed?

  • she looked like Cindy Crawford!

  • @dkfan81

    Cindy was called baby Gia

  • I jst downloaded it xD

  • @Animeislol2 Where did you download it from?? I want a copy! Lucky you, have been looking for a site to dl it from.

  • @Animeislol2 how u downloaded it?

  • i have this dvd also..the real story is always much sadder than what they try to portray on film

  • where is part 2?

  • Comment removed

  • QUE HERMOSA HPTA!

  • what did she have?!

  • yeah, what did she have?!

  • what a waste of beauty

  • she hurt herself. if she was pretty before, drugs will make her ugly. drugs will not make you prettier.

  • people always speak good about dead people ......

  • nothing more useless than a model.

"what do you do for a living?"

"derh I stand around an have my picture taken so people can sell shit I'm wearing derh"

  • @Blahblobify lol

  • @Blahblobify wow... bully much? its all good though. maybe you should educate yourself about the fashion industry before you go judging, it is amazing how much more an education can accomplish over ignorance. just sayin'. so, yea, have a good one.

  • I watched the movie Gia and I cried so much,

  • She was somewhat similar to Cindy Craword. But she was just ravishing and stunning body containing sick soul. :-(

  • Everyone Treated her like shit when she was an addict. She was shunned and disposed of...It really gets me that the people talking about her like famous photographers and such now say I KNEW GIA... Where the hell where they then? Pisses me off that people can talk and talk like they cared but damn they weren't there when they were alive...BLAH!

  • not at all loud like angie portrayed her she seemed so quite cautious beauty

  • Where is the rest of this documentary? Nothing available that I can find for DL.

  • i don't know ... it sux because she was truly amazing ...

  • Shocking to actually see her at last on video.

    :´(

One lies a LOT when using drugs, but they can get SO addictive! You don´t even know when you´re in the cycle and every little temtation of "just a bit" has to be answered the same way, NO.

Yes, lots of love helps a LOT.

  • she would be 51 years old now. I agree with the other commenter. there are a lot of people who died young and we don't know their names... its a tragic story for many people and the ones they left behind.

  • @Satnick2000 I wonder if Janice Dickinson knew her... I guess they met. How would Gia look today if she was to stop drugs?

  • fuck that. even i myself, seems i'm always interested in someone like Cobain; or others that die young, as if they we're something special. is that the way with life? yeah some people don't deserve this wack world. but hey, even Lennon said he was just a normal person. well.... i dunno but hopefully we can look the same way at this girl

  • I own this dvd..Very sad story

  • @joeyhallmusic1987 u should put the whole dvd up you'd get alot of views

  • Every one in this seemed HIGH !!!!

And I think is so funny how MEN & women think people are so HOT when they are looking at MAKE UP !!!!

I made a 324plb woman look as if she was 110plbs and then I placed the photo on Match.com BOY DID THE GUYS GET SHOCKED ARE WHAT !?!?!?!?

    LOOKS ARE NOT EVERY THING< AND EVERY THING U C ISN'T WHAT U C !!!!

  • She became a legend !

  • Her story always makes me so sad.

  • Thank you

  • In so many ways, I feel like the way Gia feels.

    sad.

  • What are track marks?

  • @nousername81 they are marks where a needle has been injected from crack or drugs...

  • @sanyo51 she was not bangin' crack. pay attention much?

  • @nousername81 Their marks you get on your arm from injecting heroin.

  • could u tell us what can we find in that documentary? Im a big fan of Gia and I meet Patrick Demachlier at his son's opening galery in Soho New york. I couldnt wait to meet him in person and ask him about gia , he said in his heavy Italian accent "Oh yes but she's death now, I remember she was wild but beautiful" .

  • Scuvallo is wearin' that hat!

I wonder if Gia could grasp the fact that she beautiful, like I mean sometimes when I see pics of her or docs of her. It seems like she is saying hmph I don't understand what the fuss is all about. I still feel like garbage on the inside

just my opinion she just looks like there was a big hole that could not be filled with all the glitz and glamour

  • The FIRST SUPERMODELs were actually Dorian Leigh and Lisa Fonssagrives in the late 1940s. They were well-known in the USA and Europe and VOGUE, Harper's Bazaar cover stars. In the 1950s you had Dovima, Suzy Parker and Jean Patchett who were huge. This was decades before stupid Janice Dickinson claims she was the first well-known "super-model."

  • Please STOP with the BS, she used Herion to kill the hunger pains and stay thin. It kept her thin, end of story.

Look how thin she is, probaly not her natural weight, she was Italian

  • @casamarylouisa Heroin and opiates usually make you gain weight because they slow down or paralyze stomach functions. She was a junkie, plain and simple. She also was one of the few visibly non-WASP beauty standards for a lot of us in the early 1980s and we miss her.

  • @casamarylouisa yes, but, uh, heroin and opiates are NOT appetite suppressants. at all. just sayin', maybe educate yourself before making comments about drugs you clearly know nothing about.

  • Why is it more tragic that she died because she was beautiful? So if she was average it would have been less tragic? I know this is in the context of the fashion industry and the message here is not about how sad it is she died- but WHY she died- the backward mental ways of the cruel industry.

  • Have to say.. I've cried for her after reading her story, proper cried. I hope shes always remembered, for her beauty and her tragic story that willl teach others

  • She had a very.. distinctive voice, I like it very low and raspy

  • Lol at the first supermodel thing, well urrr there were many many models before Janice or even Gia, y'know like the paintings and statues?... yeah made from models way back hundreds of years. though I believe it was around Janice's time when models become actually famous and noticed like movie stars i guess?

  • She was the first super model NOT Janice Dickinson

Oh, somebody else already wrote that.

    Pity she was on drugs

  • I think her beauty was unusual because she was one of the first models that wasn't the same as the rest with blonde hair and tanned skin. She looked different, acted different. She also had a look that worked for feminine or masculine shots. She was amazing at being photographed. She didn't pose still all the time, she just acted and they would shoot her, and it worked. Her beauty was effortless.

  • @Beautifu1B1urr gia puts her life in the trash.

Young, beautiful and famous, everything thrown in the trash.

who uses drugs is a suicidal.

  • @MyGauchito Stop replying too all my posts with this same damn answer. These videos are a tribute to Gia and for those who respect her. Don't come on this video and leave your disrespectful comments. I don't care to read another comment of yours, I'm blocking you.

  • she's clearly high on skag whilst interviewed in this video, trust me, i'd know!

  • the movie is a beautiful one except it ends in few hour where in she lived and suffered each day......she had everything tht a girl dreamt of but no true friend and rue love .....

and its sad to see a person so loving had to go through to find peace.....ive loved tht she lived the life tht she wanted .........respect and two thumbs up for her

  • how did she contract aids, was it through the drug taking?

  • @bluediamondgirl100 She was always against injection."Friends" say she told then she got desperate and used a friends needle to get the drug. They assume she ran out, went to her dealer; whom was out, and got sucked into injecting the heroin because that's all there was. which started her on injecting instead of smoking ( different high) So if the tails are right.. she most likely got infected by sharing needles. I did an essay on her in University.

  • But then again, not that I think about it.. She may have caught it from having sex with men. When she was caught with drugs during a shoot she was fired and no one would hire her anymore. She moved to NJ and slept with random men to get money to buy the drug.. So really.. its hard to say.

  • @Jrabbit1287 Maybe from needles, most likely. she was also raped by dealers and may of got it from that ect said to have done sexual favours for drugs too [horrible, isn't? no one ever chooses to become an addict and the things you do from desperation to get more drugs.. it's really sad] so maybe from that, but getting it from needles is more likely I think [probably look it up get info for it]

  • She was simply stunning.

  • She was meant to die from AIDS. Because of her, awareness was raised that we should be sure to take clean drugs, and that AIDS is a serious illness. Thank you Gia. And thank you also for being a great super model, and awesome human being.

  • GIA CARANGI - I think that God has laid up for me something especial, is simple not in this life!

  • Comment removed

  • @dawnjones82 Uhm what? she was a tomboy thats why she must of took drugs? wth

  • Back in these times you became a "Supermodel" when you we're on the cover of American Vogue. Gia was on the cover of American Vogue in Aug 1980. Janice Dickinson was never on the cover of American Vogue she" herself only" clamis she was the first "supermodel" Janice use to beg and offer blow jobs, anything to get a American Vogue cover...she never got it. Gia did!

  • @reereesan i think its just the make up and fashion of the time that ur not seing past

  • i think I fall in love of her!!!! She's so beautiful. Gialouise1980 thanks for the videos!!! I wanna to ask you : Do you know if Gia toke drugs before this interview?? My question is because in Gia's movie ( with Angelina Jolie) I watched before this interview Linda saw her toke drugs or it was invented in the movie?

Sorry for my bad english so I hope that you understand me :) Thanks!

  • I live in the uk, where can I buy this ?

  • Hi I Was Wondering Could You maby Put The Whole Doc Up Or maby Send It To me?? It's Just That Im A Student And Basiically have No Money :( Ive Been A Huge Gia Fan For Years I Have Been Dying To See This Doc :( Is There Any Way?? thanks.

  • @spiderlegs1987 you are having a laugh

  • @GIALOUISE1980 was this woman on 5.18 her love , which had name in movie Linda?

  • @MsPeabody1 YES THE WOMEN IN 5.18 IS SANDY LINTER .GIA LOVED HER VERY MUCH

  • @GIALOUISE1980 thank u

  • @spiderlegs1987 I hope you are the devil...

  • the interviewer asks the dumbest questions! seriously.

  • Does anyone know where I can BUY this dvd?

  • People say "what a tragedy" but in reality a drug addiction is so forceful and overpowering on the person that it can't b controlled. Gia wouldn't want to end up like she did, obviously, the drug just rules.

  • Where did u get this footage?

  • she was sooo beautiful....its a tragedy what had happened to her..

    RIP sweetie :-(

  • WE MISS YOU GIA ! WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR LEGACY !

  • does any1 know where i can watch this i dont have a credit card so i cant buy it on her website or is there anywhere i can have it c.o.d.ed please let me no been dying 2 see it. I looove Gia

  • THE MOVIE WITH JOLIE MADE GIA NO JUSTICE -- AND WAS NOOOT THE REAL STORY. YOU MUST SEE/ READ-THE SELF-DESTRUCTION OF GIA/THING OF BEAUTY. THESE TELL HER REAL STORY; IN BUYING THE DVD 'THE SELF-DESTRUCTION OF GIA' IS SO MUCH MORE THAN WHAT HBO MADE IT TO BE--IF YOU ARE REAALLY INTERESTED IN THIS GREAT HUMAN BEING, BUY THE DVD -I BOUGHT IT IN 2004 - ALL PROFITS GO TO AIDS FOUNDATIONS IN HER NAME- ALL PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENTARY ARE REAL-- I WILL NEVER FEEL FOR ANYONE LIKE I DID FOR GIA-BUY THIS DVD

  • Why must the world hurt the most beautiful souls? Tell me.

  • @castingtherunes She hurt herself, she was a junkie, and she couldnt handle the fame.

  • @castingtherunes Everyone suffers in some way.

  • @castingtherunes she hurt herself, there's no one to blame

  • @castingtherunes - when people have to deal with drug addicts, they complain, they call them names. But once they die, all of the sudden they become romanticized. It is the same thing with Gia as with Billie Holiday. All of the sudden one reads these comments "poor soul in pain", "poor thing", etc. People are so ridiculous.

  • @mrlopez2681 so, so, so very true.

  • @castingtherunes how fucking naive. do you know how many "un-beautiful souls" die, all the fucking time. wow. and lets not get started on the whole soul thing.

  • @jkvv4014 I don't care about the un-beautiful souls like some toothless welfare grandmother. I'm only concerned about those like Gia who have the poetry of their body to offer. Beauty's banquet snatched away from our eyes too soon, too soon.

  • @castingtherunes body and soul are two different things.

  • she reminds me a demi moore, in like voice and eyes, maybe nose. Angelina jolie got the facial movements well, in the movie.

  • ugh she gets me soo mad!!

    but yet shes so pretty!!!

and thay didnt help her because no one

knew that AIDS where going around..

  • what is the next part of this video? i want to know what sandy was goin to say

  • I loved Gia, will always. Met a lot of people in my life that had been a part of hers. I understand what happened all to well. Beauty is sometimes the greatest of curses will bring you around the wrong people.

  • I think gia was on those people who wasnt just sexual interested in women she was looking for love and I guess she got sex confused with and she took love from who gave to her

  • she was soo damn sexy i would bang her

  • i dont know how anyone can call her a whore even though she did sleep with men for personal gain...she ws affected, yes, u can say tht... but she was one beauty...one look in her eyes and you can see all the pain...all the lonliness...

  • @princessapurva where did you get info she was a whore she did not sleep with photographers to to get to the top, she was pretty and talented thats why she got there.

  • @jamsng She admitted to her friends and family that she prostituted herself numerous times for drug money. Read her biography, Thing of Beauty.

  • ok, she was a lesbian then. all i know is, she digged girls, changed the fashion world and was friggin gorgeous.

  • Gia was a person who needed to be loved completely. People loved her for her looks, and it was not enough. It is much harder to get people help than you think. One comment was would she have made an impact if she wasn't beautiful? People make headlines for differen't reasons, and she was an outline to addiction and what it can do to you. Looks like she had it all, but she really didn't have anything. It is so sad. People who mock and make fun really are being cruel.

  • she is a real beauty, but nothing nice enough in her character to remember. :/ if she had been ugly, why'd look at her story, I wonder?

  • @alinemerrow I know what you mean. It seems like she's dead inside. No personality, no emotion. but maybe she just didnt want to show her real self in front of the cameras? Or maybe it was all the heroine? Who knows.

  • @alinemerrow Exactly. The very people who are obsessed with her and talk about how she was "misunderstood" wouldn't have the slightest interest in her if she were an obese chemist. Also, I don't know a single person who knew about her before the film was made. Yes, she was attractive but beyond that, she was an average person who had mental health issues, did drugs, and developed AIDS. Why was she attracted to such an empty industry and career like modeling if she didn't want attention?

  • @ritter89 read the book and modeling is s job she was young got to move to ny

  • they way she said "i love life" just makes my heart aches... she sounded so sad and lost saying that.

    RIP Gia.

  • she is very fascinating, ridiculously beautiful and tragic.

I don't know why but this woman makes a huge impact on you, somehow, it is kinda scary what drugs can do to you. She looks very sad and lonely in this interview, she looks lost.

Rest in Peace Gia Marie Carangi

  • @selimaazouri crack? I thought she was on herion.

  • por favor con los subtitulos

no se encuentra nada de ella en subtiulos

  • she only gets romanticized because she was beautiful! The reality is she was a dysfunctional junkie who killed herself with reckless behavior!

  • Gia is high in this interview. You can kinda tell. shes to slow when speeking & takes to long to think of what she wants to say. Watch the movie...gia. She gets high b4 this interview. Everthing she is saying is bullshit...Shes was still using. So sad.

  • she lived hard and died hard!!! such tragedy is what kinda made her glamorus to the point of no return!

  • ¿Alguien puede subir este documental con subtitulos en español? por favor

  • drug induced confidence is no confidence at all.

  • The melancholic look on her face when she says she loves life! Beautiful..

  • What you saw as melancholic I saw as BULLSHIT If she had really found a love for life like she said she did she would of stayed off drugs and lived a purposefull life. Instead she never truly allowed anyone to see her for her. She became whoever she needed to be within any given circumstance in order to get by which is the normal survival technique of a person who doesn't know themself. When I look at her I see sadness and pain. IT"S TRAGIC BECAUSE SHE WAS TRULY BEAUTIFUL BUT SHE NEVER KNEW IT

  • @TheGreatZurEnRaah Yes, the irony of it all is the beauty.

  • so right. "lust for life" = kill me.

  • Why didn't the photgraphers or people get her help?

  • because they like the taste of blood...

  • @tobeedetermined Some probably didn't even try, but I'm sure there are other people who did try to help and had no luck. Just because you try to help someone doesn't mean you can make someone want to be helped.

She seemed like a very emotionally sad person. I don't know enough of her story to make any large sweeping judgements about her, but it seems obvious just looking at her that she had a huge hole somewhere in her heart.

Just a sad, sad story, like the guy said.

  • @tobeedetermined u cant help anybody if they are not willing 2 help herself

  • @tobeedetermined I watched the movie about her from what the movie showed she went to rehab and stuff. But she got AIDS from a contaminated needle. And thats what killed her.

  • @tobeedetermined Because at that time everyone was on drugs

  • @tobeedetermined They only cared about their paychecks.

  • @tobeedetermined when you have an addiction you listen to no one but the drugs you know

  • @tobeedetermined cause she made them 2 much money :(

  • @elky25 kim is famous for a sextape

  • @tobeedetermined ....people could have helped her as much as they wanted, but it was her who had to want to help herself.

  • @tobeedetermined The photographers - are you kidding....? They only needed her to do the shoot and even if they wanted to help...someone who needs help has to ask and agree with the help process - she had a drug addiction...it's a severe health issue.....and mentally she was too fragile to be that string & constructive...inside the lack of love for her was killing her someway already..

  • @lalixlili You're right, but it's just so sad.

  • this is so sad )=

she was beautiful she would probably have grandkids now or atleast her own...her life was ruined because she didnt feel loved )= so saaad

    r.i.p Gia!!!!!!

  • I know, i wonder what would be doing

  • Could you believe you would'v been 50 years old this year...next week?!?

  • It's interesting how her accent/dialect disappears in that interview...

  • Aids is so sad. She would of only been in her late 40's now.

  • Gia was addicted to herione when ur with or know someone on drugs, you know that, that drugs becomes there whole world, for gia Herione gave her the love she never got from anyone else

  • Heroin didn't give her 'love', but helped her to forget her troubles. Ironically if she'd managed to stay clean, she probably would have found love eventually, but not many people can live with an addict and sadly because of the addictive nature of the drug, whilst she was using it, it would always take priority over everything and everyone else.

    Heroin is a 'jealous' companion.

Using it creates problems which you then need to escape from by using it again, it's an evil, vicious circle.

  • and janice dickinson says she was the first...I THINK NOT!

  • @freshfacehooker janice was not the first twiggy was

  • @freshfacehooker I think she intentionally wanted to be a model though, didn't gia just was lucky to fall into it?

  • @freshfacehooker ,She ewill never die in my heart, she was not wanting to be a Model,,but she she just became one,and suferred so muchh...I LOvefrom the bottom off my heart

  • @freshfacehooker she only was able to say that because Gia died if she didn't Janice wouldn't be shit lol

  • @freshfacehooker Janice was more reknown cause she was dating Stallone (not sure if it's him) I think, that's why she was and is called the First Supermodel

  • @freshfacehooker - for real. Janice is a waist of space, a completely absurd person. But even Gia wasn't the first. The first was likely Dorian Leigh, or Twiggy. Of them all, Gia and Leigh are my favorites.

  • No, Gia had more beauty in her little finger than Kristen will ever have.

  • i mean no disrespect, because yes, it's very sad how she died, but many of us need to ask - what if she were NOT a beautiful woman? Would we be talking about her? Would we call her an angel? There are many many people that are dying in the exact same manner, but they are not a supermodel. How did it start? Why did she start with the drugs? Young and beautiful - so many models so so well - what was it that ruined her? I hate to think of how she died.Scavullo saw it. He makes sense.

  • I think a big point is no matter what, even if you have "everything", something can always bring you down. And you can get caught up in bad things that anyone else can

  • it wasnt only that she was stunning, it was also that she was different. she introduced a new style into america. i guess you cant exactly compare her to the beatles, but like them she dared to be different, she made a big change in the fashion world

  • she had a darker style, she was original, she wasnt the stereotypical model with blond hair and blue eyes. plus she was gay, that doesnt really affect the fashion world much, but it does affect the gay community.

i guess i should rephrase my last statement, she made A change in the fashion world.

  • @bringmesomepie she was gay? I thought she was bisexual?

  • @ChicanoTattooArt lols she probably was attracted to men but favored women. who know what was going on in her head
