for some reason when my speakers are plugged into the tv via 3.5mm cable into the headphone jack, the sound quality is that of the crappy built in ones, just amplified! Is there a way around this?

OK I have this monitor in my country it was the cheapest and the best you can buy for the money but during use I have a feeling that there is a lack of color so it resemble a 18 bit picture whether someone else has a similar impression, and whether anyone knows the reason for this I think the problem is not the graphics card I have a 5770 which has support for 24 bit color system is tuned to a 32 bit image win 7 I use the VGA output and a cable that comes with it

Neither Eizo nor NEC produce LCD panels by themselvs!

Eizo just uses panels made by SAMSUNG, and NEC repacks LG panels.

oh god, you don't know anything. Country of origin doesn't matter. It's about how they are adjusted when they put them together. EIZO takes 30 minuets to adjust colours and checks all the 256 colours.

I actually bought that display due to this video. It was a good choice and it truly is the most cost effective full HD LCD. My computer equipped with Pentium 4 2,93ghz and Ati Radeon X1600 Pro doesn't really like the huge 1920x1080 resolution.

Most 24" screens have HDMI capability which means you can connect it to HDMI hardware such as the PS3 or something. You can't directly connect HDMI to the commupter unless it supports your graphics card.

Without that Res they cant boast it as 1080p as this is the resolution for 1080p. Any less and its not Full High Def so what would be the point? Its also fine when using it with PS3 or 360 through HDMI.

I much prefer glossy screens. Just have to make sure the room is suitable.

Other than that it looks OK. I'd have to see the colors though. My last Benq had terrible color (even after calibration) and backlight bleed issues.
