  • how do you start this with no spark plug???

  • @arkfussion There is a spark plug attached in the midle of the biggest part of the engine its only used when starting the engine together with some compressed air.

When its running the engine does not need any sparks or compressed air anymore.

  • @vz800 i have an engine like this one and i was just wondering how one might start it with out a spark plug. i cant get mine going. i come close and get a resonate flame but it stops when i take air pressure away.

  • @arkfussion you can light the gas as well if you decide not to use a sparkplug before using starting air.

You probaly use a reducer between the propane bottle and tube towards the engine i only use a needle valve for the adjustment and a ball valve in case of emergengy to be able to shut down the gas with one move.

But the full pressure of the propane bottle is used.

  • @vz800 well i got my lock wood running but with out compressed air it stops! ug!. and my propain bottle has a strait hose from it to the engine. thee of the hose is flattened for more fuel pressure. but the engine still wont go with out air.? why?

  • @arkfussion i use a fuel injector with holes that are in a 90 degrees angle with the incoming air this way the fuel and incoming air are mixed very well into a exposive mixture

  • Whats design did you use for the fuel injector nozzle?

  • the injector is a 10 mm pipe closed at 1 end with 3 holes from 2 mm drilled through the pipe so a total of 6 2 mm holes 3 facing up and 3 facing down so the airflow can mix with the propane properly

    Alex

  • what is the steel thickness?

  • if you use stainless steel 1 mm will be thick enough if you use steel 2 mm should be thick enough.

  • oh.. 1mm is really thin... how did u do those weldings? did u use a mig welder? and thanks for your reply

  • I am a tig welder so i can get access to some rest material but the material should be at least 1mm if you are using stainless steel

  • If you visit my homepage and click the link email there i will be able to send you an email with an attachment.

  • i will send you a email

  • is it possible to send me an email on how to make one of these aswell please, thnx

  • If you visit my homepage and click the link email there i will be able to send you an email with an attachment.
