And I coudln't care less for your education. I don't give a sh*t if you suffer due to lack of money, when you don't use your head and handle the problem instead of whining, pussy.
How about this: Instead of making people personally being forced to pay for their education, why not raise taxes to the point where the state funds all education for you? That way everyone, including the very poor can get a good education. It's all about leveling the playing field. People shouldn't have an advantage in life just because their parents are rich.
governments are needed for the keeping of general rights. Without them your rights aren't guaranteed. Their is a reason Anarchy doesn't work. Many of your universities are funded and researched in by the feds. Most of our modern industrialized society and science was funded in part by the communal wealth of the people. I'm sorry but I'm almost certain your just really bitter right now about student loans (don't worry I completely understand and sympathize). Love your videos though :)
Shittt, im getting by on fucking financial aid for the past year and a half.. I wonder how much longer they'll help me out.. I dont think i could ever take a loan out.. I love your fucking commentaries BTW! I feel like i've found someone more on my level.
or they would just charge alot and have less people come like before there was public education? US education= fucked up anyhow... tax the rich pay for schools
Demand for attendance in colleges will always be high, whether there's a large or small government. It'd be expensive no matter what, artificial inflation from loans aside.
What would happen with no government? how would money even work if we had no gvmnt? And then how chaotic would the world be with no government at all?
Not trying to be confrontational, just kinda curious. You mention a government free system a lot, but how does that kind of system work with no one to enforce required laws like "Don't murder people" and akin.
It might sound dumb, but that's why I'm waiting to go to college until after I feel financially stable. Sure, that makes me need 2 part time jobs right now, but I'll deal with the couple years of saving to ensure "financial safety" after college.
Hey guys. I'm a new commentator. I have awesome commentary on my channel and am having a hard time getting views. If you would just take a minute to drop by my channel, I'm sure you'll agree that i deserve more. I could really use the money to pay off my student loans that I acquired while attending university that led to me getting a job that is completely irrelevant to my actual post education I received.
By my poor grammar, you can tell I didn't do so well in University.
Does that 30k include residence or are you living at home? Because if that is with residence that's crazy. I'm going to University in Canada and I'm paying $15-16k including residence.
The idea that the education necessary for some "better" jobs winds up putting young citizens tens of thousands of dollars in debt straight out of the gate is kind of crazy. If they want more people to fill these jobs (which they will need to replace the baby boomers) then University should be more accessible.
I luckily have a full-ride, along with a few other grants to cover living in a dorm, because everyone knows that living "DAT COLLEGE EXPERIENCE" should be the utmost priority of a student.
The only way not to have student loans now is to be in ROTC or the National Guard, the government wants to force you into situations where they want the advantage, it's no longer a democracy it's almost a totalterianism based government where people have no choice to pay the government large sums of money with little to no change into what needs to be changed.
University in England costs AT MOST £9k a year. And our student loans which you use to pay for it go like this: After you graduate, as soon as you start earning 21k or above a proportion of your salary goes straight out to pay that loan. And after 30 years, the debt is wiped completely.
@Tasproductions I think you missed the part where they charge interest and RPI interrest which atm is around 6% + 3% so yeah a minimum of 9% of interrest on your loan for a minimum of 3 years, yeah no fun eh?
@IconicLemon I still don't see a problem. Yes, they charge interest, but as it's taken straight off your salary when you graduate, as in your employer literally sends it to the government for you, the only difference you'll notice is a slightly lower pay compared with someone who doesn't have those debts. It makes no difference whether they charge interest or not. It's not like they come knocking and threaten to reposess.
money solution = go to uni in England, the process is far easier, the government gives you a loan right off the bat, which you won't pay back until you earn £25,000 a year (subject to change). You'll never even notice paying back those student loans later in life, it's just slightly extra tax. Well you might if you pay too much attention to your pay. Also the uni takes care of all your accommodation as long as you get accepted
Communism never works. It looks good in theory and on paper, but it's too easily corruptible. You could say you can find a way to limit the communist government, but by that point, you pretty much have a capitalist society if you do that.
@TheFriskyIanReturned That's the point. ''It looks good in theory....'' is a pathetic argument and shuts off any potential for ideological debate. The Leninist revolution has always been hijacked by opportunists and bourgeois, capitalist liberals who have no intention of advancing Socialism and attaining Communism.
The state is not the means of achieving Communism, that's what all you nay sayers don't understand. I suggest you read some Marx
Have you heard about the recent chnages in the universitys in the UK? They are being changed from next year, the year I start, to £9000 per year. That aggrovates the living shit out of me.
Interesting fact: In sweden I get a loan and college is free at the same time. The loan is just for people who want to study in other countries. But I live in the city that has the best college in entire sweden so I don´t have to study somewhere else and thus I can use the loan to buy whatever I feel like. And thanks to some funds my dad invested in I don´t have to pay the loan back. These funds do it for me. So basicly, I get money for going to college.
You are spot on with pretty much everything you say in this video. One thing that you should have added is that government taxation is essentially theft at gunpoint. Many people pay taxes only because the government has the monopoly on violence, and has a shit load of guns. People fork over their money involuntarily, which is the definition of theft.
This is why I took some basic classes online to save some money to reduce the cost of living in a college dorm setting. And it's sad when we live in a society where a lot of kids in college take out loans and just end up doing too many substances and getting kicked out and then their stuck with the financial burdens. Skittles are awesome too.
This talk of taxes, government and education is nice and all OJ but what is your opinion on real matters like the 25 killstreak in MW3? Will it lead to boosting do you think? ; )
I understand that having a loan for a large portion of your life is difficult at times, but as my commerce teacher once said "If there was no government taxes there would be minimal well kept roads, difficult trading and many other problems. Especially in my country where we have Medicare that the government supports."
Jesus are you familiar with the tragedy of the commons? This concept necessitates an organization to pay for public goods that otherwise, nobody would pay for.
The only problem with your theory though is that college throughout history has always been a "rich" mans place. In the past only those who were of very high income could go to college because there weren't things such as federal aid or state loans with low interest rates. I agree that we would pay less without a state government in terms of taxes but we would pay for things we wouldn't think of directly paying for such as roads or lower level schools. No Governemnt= No Schools for the poor.
@MrObviouslyJesus Nature is survival of the fittest, but the thing about a society is that it needs a mediating party aka the government. Without the government filling in the gaps for those who wouldn't be able to afford education by giving out student loans we are essentially raising the standard of living and making our economy better off. Now what I believe is that we should raise the requirements on how student loans can be acquired. Make them only accessible to those who need them.
@simonburbank But if he cares only about himself he should care about society because what happens in society will directly affect him. If there were no government subsidized student loans or federal financial aid the standard of living for society would go down thus his standard of living would go down. Also a middle class like the one he is a part of would be nonexistent without higher college participantion rates due to government subsidized loans.
@RoyaLockz Yes it is. Obviously people would cooperate with each other, but there would be no federal military, welfare, social security. So if your militia is stronger than the other guy's militia, you can do whatever you want to said guy.
@simonburbank isnt that what the US is? the British colonized north america, but the "americans" made their own militia and fought back. The only reason that we arnt happy with this situation is that we were born into this "Militia" instead of being founding rulers. I think the rise and fall of government is a natural human cycle.
@CplSwanson Yes but the problem with private militias are that they are not always justified to overthrow rule. In the case of the American Revolution, I believe they were justified.
@MrObviouslyJesus dude you should be a canadian citizen its awsome! average tuition is like between 10 and 15 thousand***(i think) and almost all kids out of highschool get the opportunity to go as long as they have the marks, money almost never matters, unless your very low class
@MrObviouslyJesus When has humanity ever wanted to do what nature wants. If a group of people (country) want people to have basic things, then no one should be able to take that away from them.
@fez1452 Sure, the university was a place for the privileged historically, but the majority of workers had a trade(farmer, blacksmith, tailor), meaning higher education wasn't necessary for everyone. Today with a higher diffusion of labor, the mechanization of manufacturing and increased specialization: lower "quality," more accessible higher education would be profitable--were it not for the state manipulating the education market, in many of the ways OJ describes.
@GIGGITYGOOBALLS Scholarships are all fine and dandy but majority of those too are paid by the state. And if the state did not pay for colleges, how many colleges do you think would be around? Well in the past there were maybe a couple of colleges per state and majority of those were also religious institutions. So without government we would be a highly elitist, highly religious, and highly ignorant country.
@GIGGITYGOOBALLS Also before there the state gave money to colleges to give scholarships those schools did not give many scholarships. Why the hell would a school give money to a student if they had to pay it out of their own pocket? It's arbitrary and is the reason why not many schools did it in the first place. Schools have and always will be a business and with all types of business there must be some form of regulation (government) to bring equality to an otherwise unequal world.
What year are you in at your uni? I'm a freshman at a comm college and I'm taking all my basics so I can transfer next year to the college that my cousin is attending. so I can save money. Right now he and I are both freshman, I am at a local comm college and he is at TAMU. He is paying around 20K to take the same basic classes I am, while I am paying 800 dollars a semester. So my question is this: Why would someone go to an expensive uni when they could take basics at comm then transfer?
@DigitNumberTen And in socialist Europe you don't get to keep half your paycheck, and things of value are given for free. Backwards as fuck, no respect for work.
@MrObviouslyJesus because, and i don't wish to have a flame war with you, its better to pay something over time and not worry about debts then to take massive loans out and be in debt over the next 20 years of your life because of interest. we get paid much more but we get taxed an extra 5 or so percent on everything, the cost of living is high but the money we make is on par with that and everyone (in some cases) get taxed even the rich people
Holy shit, that is a crap ton of money. Here in Sweden school will never be any near what it costs for you Americans, mainly because of our extremely high taxes though.
@jbzones08 im not college right now, but im pretty sure most universities are not as expensive as $33,000 a year in america(i have cozens in college).
Costs me $5000 per year. However, I pay through government loans, which for education are interest free. Also, I only pay back the loans once I am earning over $38,000 per year, then the government subtracts like 1 cent for every dollar until the loans are paid. It is still fuckloads more expensive than when my father went to university but I don't feel 'worried' about my situation. 33,000 per year? even with your circumstances I would be daunted. Overall, pretty happy....
I dunno how it is in the US, exactly, but here in Europe governments are what make universities work. Here, if you go to a private university its most likely cause ur dumb. (Britain excluded)
I completely agree with you even though I dont really understand the system over where you live as I'm in the UK. Here the Maxiumium Uni fees were £3000 a year, but now have tripled to £9000 a year. And the courses have varied lengths. The rising of the fees come in to place next year so £9000 a year x 3 years(Average length course)=£27000.And aparently we dont have to pay if we earn afterwards over £26000 a year. But isnt that the reason we got to uni to earn more than that?
What do you think of the school system in the UK then? By the time I'm at university it will have risen but the cap will be 9000 pounds a year, which is still a lot less than going to school in America. I believe that people who go to university in the UK now pay 3000 pounds a year and so it is even cheaper now. Also, if you got rid of the government, couldn't the universities keep their prices high and get people to get loans from a bank?
are you an anarchist? i mean i think i recall you calling yourself a libertarian... and they believe in freedom to do whatever you want with your money and yourself so... thats kinda in the same area right?
jesus , quit school make more giveaways like that retarded boy from 7th street , eat ramen only save on a bank account and until fall of youtube(which is i hope soon) and you have money for future :)
@MrObviouslyJesus b/c i wanted you to know that at least one of the people who watched this video disagreed w/ you. I guess I should have just said "I disagree," and then when you asked me why, I would've ignored you and you wouldn't have cared.
it sickens me how U.S is going down the shit hole and yet so many people go to college and think their succesfull making the country better if we had so many succesfull people in the U.S im sure we wouldnt be in this issues we have with the debts etc etc,
@xtntrampage now a days not even a degree can you the job you really want im not saying its not possible ofcourse it is but with this generation its a bit harder cause so many people go to college and graduate and sometimes tend to strive for the same job. You know what i mean?

And it's sad when we live in a society where a lot of kids in college take out loans and just end up doing too many substances and getting kicked out and then their stuck with the financial burdens. Skittles are awesome too.

This talk of taxes, government and education is nice and all OJ but what is your opinion on real matters like the 25 killstreak in MW3? Will it lead to boosting do you think? ; )
cahill22 4 months ago
I understand that having a loan for a large portion of your life is difficult at times, but as my commerce teacher once said "If there was no government taxes there would be minimal well kept roads, difficult trading and many other problems. Especially in my country where we have Medicare that the government supports."
Afrosplode 4 months ago
Jesus are you familiar with the tragedy of the commons? This concept necessitates an organization to pay for public goods that otherwise, nobody would pay for.
Furlegit 4 months ago
The only problem with your theory though is that college throughout history has always been a "rich" mans place. In the past only those who were of very high income could go to college because there weren't things such as federal aid or state loans with low interest rates. I agree that we would pay less without a state government in terms of taxes but we would pay for things we wouldn't think of directly paying for such as roads or lower level schools. No Governemnt= No Schools for the poor.
fez1452 4 months ago 6
@fez1452 Everyone can't have everything. Or even some things. Even basic things. That's not how nature works, sorry.
MrObviouslyJesus 4 months ago 3
@MrObviouslyJesus Nature is survival of the fittest, but the thing about a society is that it needs a mediating party aka the government. Without the government filling in the gaps for those who wouldn't be able to afford education by giving out student loans we are essentially raising the standard of living and making our economy better off. Now what I believe is that we should raise the requirements on how student loans can be acquired. Make them only accessible to those who need them.
fez1452 4 months ago
@fez1452 He doesn't care about society or others; he only cares about himself.
simonburbank 4 months ago
@simonburbank But if he cares only about himself he should care about society because what happens in society will directly affect him. If there were no government subsidized student loans or federal financial aid the standard of living for society would go down thus his standard of living would go down. Also a middle class like the one he is a part of would be nonexistent without higher college participantion rates due to government subsidized loans.

@fez1452 He wants to live an anarchy. That means every man for himself.
simonburbank 4 months ago
@simonburbank That's not what anarchy is Simon.
RoyaLockz 4 months ago
@RoyaLockz Yes it is. Obviously people would cooperate with each other, but there would be no federal military, welfare, social security. So if your militia is stronger than the other guy's militia, you can do whatever you want to said guy.
simonburbank 4 months ago
@simonburbank Anarchy isn't every man for himself. It just means there is no established government.
RoyaLockz 4 months ago
@simonburbank isnt that what the US is? the British colonized north america, but the "americans" made their own militia and fought back. The only reason that we arnt happy with this situation is that we were born into this "Militia" instead of being founding rulers. I think the rise and fall of government is a natural human cycle.
CplSwanson 4 months ago
@CplSwanson Yes but the problem with private militias are that they are not always justified to overthrow rule. In the case of the American Revolution, I believe they were justified.
simonburbank 4 months ago
@MrObviouslyJesus Maybe that's how it should work, who are you to deny someone of their basic necessities?
ShaxAMV 4 months ago
@MrObviouslyJesus dude you should be a canadian citizen its awsome! average tuition is like between 10 and 15 thousand***(i think) and almost all kids out of highschool get the opportunity to go as long as they have the marks, money almost never matters, unless your very low class
azndrftking 4 months ago
@MrObviouslyJesus When has humanity ever wanted to do what nature wants. If a group of people (country) want people to have basic things, then no one should be able to take that away from them.

@fez1452 Sure, the university was a place for the privileged historically, but the majority of workers had a trade(farmer, blacksmith, tailor), meaning higher education wasn't necessary for everyone. Today with a higher diffusion of labor, the mechanization of manufacturing and increased specialization: lower "quality," more accessible higher education would be profitable--were it not for the state manipulating the education market, in many of the ways OJ describes.
fididle 4 months ago
@fez1452 have you heard of scholarships?
GIGGITYGOOBALLS 4 months ago
@GIGGITYGOOBALLS Scholarships are all fine and dandy but majority of those too are paid by the state. And if the state did not pay for colleges, how many colleges do you think would be around? Well in the past there were maybe a couple of colleges per state and majority of those were also religious institutions. So without government we would be a highly elitist, highly religious, and highly ignorant country.
fez1452 4 months ago
@GIGGITYGOOBALLS Also before there the state gave money to colleges to give scholarships those schools did not give many scholarships. Why the hell would a school give money to a student if they had to pay it out of their own pocket? It's arbitrary and is the reason why not many schools did it in the first place. Schools have and always will be a business and with all types of business there must be some form of regulation (government) to bring equality to an otherwise unequal world.
fez1452 4 months ago
@fez1452 But if there were no governments, they would not decide whether a road needed to be built or not, the people would.

MrObviouslyJesus 4 months ago
@MrObviouslyJesus guess why the socialist people pay so much tax SO THEY CAN GET THOSE SERVICES FOR FREE
lt535 4 months ago
@lt535 But why can't they just buy the services WITH THEIR MONEY? Fucking genius.
MrObviouslyJesus 4 months ago
@MrObviouslyJesus because, and i don't wish to have a flame war with you, its better to pay something over time and not worry about debts then to take massive loans out and be in debt over the next 20 years of your life because of interest. we get paid much more but we get taxed an extra 5 or so percent on everything, the cost of living is high but the money we make is on par with that and everyone (in some cases) get taxed even the rich people

Holy shit, that is a crap ton of money. Here in Sweden school will never be any near what it costs for you Americans, mainly because of our extremely high taxes though.
jbzones08 4 months ago
@jbzones08 im not college right now, but im pretty sure most universities are not as expensive as $33,000 a year in america(i have cozens in college).
XKEYBLADEX10 4 months ago
i guessing the general consensus of your videos are that governments suck ass?
stfu2193 4 months ago

@MrObviouslyJesus
But isnt that the reason we got to uni to earn more than that?
siddyv7 4 months ago
wow.. the US sucks. Costs me $200 a year to go to collage/university

It's called tax money :)
redwingfan41 4 months ago
What do you think of the school system in the UK then? By the time I'm at university it will have risen but the cap will be 9000 pounds a year, which is still a lot less than going to school in America. I believe that people who go to university in the UK now pay 3000 pounds a year and so it is even cheaper now. Also, if you got rid of the government, couldn't the universities keep their prices high and get people to get loans from a bank?
