  • Paul si yo te pillara en el metro.... No te perdono la vida!!!! Eres perfecto!!!!!!

  • Minor classic. McCartney has great songs most people have never heard. Even his weaker albums have a few fantastic tunes. The album version of Press, though, is poor.

  • Macca on the metro! only in the 80's could happen that!

  • QUE LINDO SALE, MIRO EL VIDEO Y ME ENBOBO

  • I think the same pod people who overtook him when he made this gem are the ones who thought today would be the ideal to get married...WTF???

  • Anyone watching this video needs to buy McCartney's "Flowers in the Dirt

    " immediately.

  • @keithcozz Yes, but don't buy "Press To Play"!

  • @SuperBeatlesfan11 cause you'd have to get every single person shown in the video to sign a release to be featured.

  • 2:39 is like an extra little burst of happiness from Paul :) definitely made me happy!

  • so 80's!!

  • The young violinist will never forget in his life that gave Macca a tip!

  • Macca hit #21 in Billboard, 9-13-86. God bless ya, Sir Paul. Thanx, Fiona, for postin' it.

  • Great video. The song, ...is not so good. A great excuse for being late to work, arguably the greatest artist/entertainer of the 20th century was shooting a vedio and held up the trains. But there were even a-hoes who were pissed when the Beatles played the rooftop and disrupted their workday.

  • The little girl at 3:13 is cute. Someone 5 months back said something bad about her. I like when she pops up. Maybe if I read the whole thread leading up to the comment, I might make sense. Or maybe that person thinks demons are cute.

  • I remember this. Pissed me off as I was late for work while they pissed around delaying the trains. I shouted at him to get off and go do it somewhere else but was ignored. Too arrogant to apologise.

  • @wuf820 Oh come one, grumpy pants, that must have made for some kind of fine story that day, getting to work and saying, "Paul McCartney made me late!". Better that than the train being bombed.

  • self-conscious

  • Why is it, that i love EVERY paul mccartney album. be it wings or not.? idk. you tell me, i just know that im never disapointed with him, and lately ive just been buying his albums before i even listen to them!!

  • @TheBeatlesArchive I do the same thing! I love all of his work! he is just a genuis. I reccomend u take a look at his new remasters, u can find trailers in his page on youtube, but buy them in his site, u have a better selection, more options are they are way less expensive!

  • i'm pretty sure Paul wouldn't ride the subway unless he had two bodyguards the size of hulk hogan after John's murder on the street a handful of years before t

  • Oklahoma was never like this.

  • What does he mean when he says, "Tell me to press?" Press what...dare I ask..

  • DEDICATED TO LADY BARBARA OF CAMBRIDGE OBE

  • this is one of the funnest music videos ever, and I;ll say the song is very good, simple and catchy and cheerful

  • Ok....

  • How come the N door is open at 1:18 :-\

  • @leirikhol I noticed that too, maybe a member of staff by chance was travelling in the rear cab and knew that Paul was there? Lol

  • @bronzeonion Per suggestion on District Dave's forum by ajax the warrior (I know you're there too, recognize your name!), it is most likely just the guard.

  • @leirikhol This video probably got a couple dozen views from people on DD! Wasnt sure wether the 83's ever had a guard

  • I spotted a demon at 3:13 of this video.

  • @judyneric It's probably the computerscreen reflecting your face....

  • I love everything he's ever done, no matter what it is. I can't get enough of him

  • Anything but Spies Like Us, thank you. :)

  • @peterblack70 What does everybody have against Spies Like Us?

  • just a great song by paul that's all!

  • Paul looks like a fun dude to ride a subway with

  • imagine yourself stumbling at Paul in the subway... ODD!!

  • @sayuri60s Paul has also been seen on a bus recently. He says whenever possible he likes to use public transportation, he doesnt let fame ruin normal life. He talked about it an an interview in 2010 that when people recognize him he just says come sit by me and they have an everyday conversation and most people are respectful that its his personal life not a concert

  • @QueenBeatlesWings I read that story too and I have to say that besides (obviously) his music, I also admire Paul for the person he is. He's not a saint (thank God he isn't) and he's allowed to make mistakes, but he seems to have his feet firmly on the ground and by all signs managed to remain 'normal'. Which is quite a feat when you are Paul McCartney, 'musical genius of Beatles, Wings and after' fame. So many lesser 'stars' can't handle it at all & become total freaks. I say, Good on ya, Paul!

  • Love Sir Paul but this one was much weaker than his stuff from "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" or "Flaming Pie". The video was interesting but seems to drag at times.

  • i was singing this song on the light-rail train today :)

  • Nobody beats Macca

  • when i first hear this song 6 months ago i labeled it as a bad 80's phase paul. but i added it to my ipod now i love the song it makes me feel happy

  • i love paul and john and i loved them in the beatles and i loved them after, i dont think that i liked one more than the other

  • AAAAAAAH love him

  • fab ,,,,,xthanks jon

  • This was likely his last time on the subway.

  • Awesome video! I love on The McCartney Years DVD how Paul comments about people's reactions like some sang along some ignored him some acted embarrased others got autographs

  • não podemos esquecer Eric Stewart !!!!

  • Take away the awful '80's production on this and it could translate really well live. I've always loved the tune but the lyrics do nothing for me I gotta say!

  • Ah, to be riding the Underground, and then turn and see Paul McCartney!

I had this album, and this is the only song I remember from it, mainly due to the video. It looked like so much fun!

  • Damn his beautiful hair!

  • @TheJesterGirl Linda was his Hair Dresser.

  • One of the 80`s soundtrack. What a missing...

  • I love this song ! Seeing Paul tomorrow .. think he'll play it ?

  • I love this video!

    Looking good for 44 Macca!

  • I'm sure this was last time that P.M. rode

    any kind of public transportation.

  • no backlap.....the comments by hippojuice23 were ridiculous based on the facts at hand...not opinions. McCartney's accomlishments over a 40+ year career with the Beatles and on his own are there for all the world to see + judge. I don't care who remembers me but the world will remember McCartney for his achievements of which there are too many to possibly mention.

  • Paul has said that he often rides the Tube and buses in London, by himself. He says no one hassles him and he's met some interesting people this way. He enjoys fans who (politely) say hello to him. He even had done this in NYC. A few years ago on a NYC bus, an older black woman said to him "Paul McCartney! What are you doing on a bus?" He smiled and said "Goin' uptown!".

  • Nowhere near Band on the Run, Off The Ground, Run Devil Run, Unplugged, Broad Street, Tug if War, Pies of Peace, Flowers in the Dirt.

Not even near other Wings or solo stuff, this is gotta be the worst, or one of the worst Macca albums, cause it's too plastic, like other bad stuff from the 80's.

  • What does he trying to say with the phase "Oklahoma was never like this??"

  • @jaiframen It's a play on the line in Wizard Of Oz "I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore". Paul said that the word "Kansas" didn't scan very well in the song's structure, so he checked a US map and found that "Oklahoma" was a neighbouring state and scanned better. It's the same theme, someone from the provinces discovering city life.

  • One of my fav Paul McCartneys

  • Strangely this is the best song he has ever done. Always loved it

  • CYBERCLOUD SALUTES THE LONDON PUBS

    (GOOGLE) SINAGLONG LONDON PUBS

  • I think this was Pauls lowest point of creativity .Apart from spys like us I can't this of a worse song he produced . I enjoy the bulk of his solo work but after buying Press to Play I almost gave up on him doing anything interesting ever again . I'm pleased to say I was wrong and these days he is producing great material again .

  • Love it when the lady kisses him.

  • Exactly what is he doing at 2:38?!!!

  • I wonder how many security personnel he had with him.

  • The reason I like this one is because it reminds me going around London a while back. I adore London and the entire country of England so much. These days I cant afford going back again tho. This one is a keeper.

  • A Les Dawson cameo! Grand!

  • Mensage for Paul SITE ORQUIDHEA youtube. OBRIGADO

  • I would have killed someone to be on the Tube that day. Please touch meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have never washed again and my brain would have exploded. Honest. If Destroyed True, If Not Destroyed True xxxxxxxxxxxxx IDT/INDT xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • This video really shows off that Paul McCartney charm, he's a natural.

  • Oh my god. How awesome is he?

    I love you, sir Paul!

  • Good tune!

  • look at how great his greying hair looks here. Please stop dyeing your hair Paul. It looks awful

  • How dePRESSing ... ugh, awful song.

  • oklahoma was never like this!

  • oklahoma!

  • oklahoma!

  • It really is great to see people who actually enjoy the press to play album. In hindsight, McCartney feels making that album was a mistake. Doesn't worry me as i have enjoyed it very much.

  • I love every genre of Paul and I don't think the death of John had anything to do with his music in the 80's. For the most part, Paul is cheesy!!! That's what makes him so great :)

  • Right there, that's it yeah!!!! I love it :P The commentary for this video on the McCartney Years is priceless!!

  • He can take us for a quick day trip; skiing but only if he can make us fight! ta keep up with him!..Where Is This!..*** PRESS!***(I'll teach you how to ski for free.) 'aka fox.rock'sczar!

  • when i was a i kid i thought this was a real footage about a real Paul s travelling on the subway. i didnt see all those ppl as they actors they really were. Few years later, that "lie" didn t bother me,..( sorry about my bad english, i`m from Agentina)

  • Actually, they were no actors. All of them were real people and that one is Paul travelling on the subway. If you buy "The McCartney Years" 3 DVD box set (paquete de tres DVD's, pues, jeje) and you select the Audio Commentaries option you can hear Paul saying about this video that it came up as an idea of filming him travelling by subway as he used to do still in the 80's and 90's. En resumen: Es Paul viajando en metro y la gente que ves no fueron actores. Paul solía viajar en metro. ¡Saludos!

  • Tenès buen inglès, buen español y buena informacion acerca de Paul. Me quito el sombrero. Saludos!

  • ¡Gracias, che! Después de todo es mi lengua materna :)

  • Hit #21 in Billboard in the US. how'd it do in the UK?

  • Press to play is a great album! All good songs, I wish Paul would have played some of them live...

  • @timonraphael : are you crazy ??

PRESS is the worst album of all his carreer (with MACCARTNEY II)

really really bad orchestrations, too much synthesizers (he's not Peter Gabriel) ;-)

  • No I'm not crazy, but I'm a musician who looks at it without any prejudice! Too much synths, that would be true if it was a current record. But it came out in 1986 and then it was up to date! I mean it's still rock'n'roll with guitar solos, but with an 80's touch in sounds&production. As a songwriter I have to say that the songs on Press to play are very underrated, I don't know why. The album is full of great and varied compositions. This you must admit even if you don't like synths!

  • thanks for your answer :-)

to like or not synths is not the point (listen to the 3 and 4 album of P.Gabriel, these ARE really good albums full of synths).

I'm musician too. I listen to without prejudice but with my ears ;-)

seriously : i think that there're crappy orchestrations, tunes are not "great" (sorry I don't have the word in english). I really think that the '80 were a bad period to Paul, with the murder of John. Only 10 songs are wonderfull for me (Lonely Nights, Say say, A Long Ago)

  • '89 is the reborn of Paul, with "flowers in the dirt"

  • Ok, I guess it makes no sense to discuss with you about "Press to play" when you don't like the whole 80's period of Paul. For me it will always be an important album, I bought it when I was 14 and I loved it from the beginning. Peter Gabriel is one of heroes too and I own every album, but I don't compare Peter and Paul, they have completely different styles how they use their sounds and compose songs. If you're really a musician who listens with his ears you should notice the high quality ;-)

  • @timonraphael> :-) I don't throw away ALL the '80 period of Paul. I love 10 songs. Ok, maybe 12... to please you ;-) I don't compare the style of PMC a PG, i've juste said that PMC don't know how to write music for computers, and PG yes. That's all. Just listen the difference beetwen "back to the egg" and "Mc II" ... But I think that we will be ok on one thing : PMC is more than a god for me, he IS the music and the happiness to play music.

  • The further away I get from 80s music the more I love it and realize how unique it was. Pauley will always be one of my favorites as he managed to change with the times - yet still remain true to his unique sound/ability...an amazing accomplishment coming from the greatest, most embedded popular music groups of all time. I also love/d Gabriel. Though I do believe Sir P could have a ballad hit again...or make a splash in the classical music arena - I am sad that greats like him are in the past.

  • I just think Paul should do more musics like this one you know? Love this one! I miss the 80's period of him.

  • this song got stuck in my head the first time I saw it. It's a good song, though.

  • This is my favorite video from Paul I love it!!!!

  • i loooove this song!

  • This video makes me feel really good and draws a smile on my face. Thanks Paul!

  • very strange video this one of paul just hanging around the london underground but at least its a good tune to make up for it

  • I think this mite be my favorite Paul song its a tough thing to pick but this mite be my favorite one.

  • @x43Polamalu43x you friend are unique nd awesome

    this song is awesome

  • @x43Polamalu43x cretin

  • i love the video and song.

  • I'm not a big fan of Paul's solo material from the 1980s but this was one of his good songs he came out with during his post-Wings career

  • no?? you didn't like any of the "Tug of War" or "Flowers in the Dirt" stuff??

  • I haven't heard too much of the stuff from those albums but for what I've heard I wasn't too impressed, I do like "My Brave Face" and "Take it Away" alot though, the rest of what I've heard I just wasn't too impressed with

  • oh... i understand

  • Paul is the BEST of the BEST! <3

  • How lucky you were to see Paul, wish I was on that train!

  • I was in this video on accident as a little girl in London visiting family! I am going up the escalator in a yellow and green shirt close to the end.....thought I would never see this video again as I lost my copies!

  • hey hippojuice23.............when you're worthless existence on this planet is over...NO ONE will know who you were or anything about you.....McCartney is the most successful singer/songwriter in music history having sold some 200 million records + has broken every record one could break with the Beatles and on his own.....so please.....do not make fun of anything that he does...his worst is better than anything you could ever hope to achieve! Sorry...end of story!

  • @richardr105

And according to your logic, neither will anyone remember YOU. Care to admit that, or do you realize that seems a little harsh?

  • Is he always happy?

Well, I guess I would be too if I were him.

  • I'm from the outskirts of London so often go on the tube, when I saw this video for the first time my headnearly exploded from surprise that Sir Paul gets the same train!

  • Why couldn't I be in that train?

  • I am happy again

    thanks for this video fiona365099

  • Once again, Sir Paul proves he can mix in with the common folk and have a good time, bravo!

  • Press became mine and my girlfriends codeword. To express what we were thinking thoughts about each other, when we were in a crowd. Great memories.

  • Paul amazes again!

  • Great video. Directed by-- ?¿

  • Multi-millionaire Paul goofs it up for the people that gave him his millions...

  • A nice budget video for Macca.

At least he didn't have to fork out for a taxi.

  • I love this video, at first so innocent, then you listen to the lyrics... And, see how incredibly flirtacious Paul is acting.... Haha.

  • Brilliant video and even more interesting 23 years on as a time capsule.

  • I ve always loved this video and song! how much i would have liked to travel on that train!! Virgi from Buenos Aires

  • great song grazie immortale paul da amilcare

  • This is the fabled video. I had been telling a friend for YEARS, I had seen Paul in a subway singing "Press". He got so he didn't believe me. Thank you, YouTube! lol

  • I LOVE me some Macca! Press me, babyee!

  • One of my favorite Paul songs, and one of my all-time favorite videos, just because how awesome would that be? A few years later I finally got to London and rode the tube, all excited because I had seen it on this video first.

  • 2:18 always cracks me up!...I'd probably do the same though :D

  • great paul!

  • wow, a bit raunchy for a macca flick eh? where's Linda? Oh, well, this is funny.

  • people say press to play is a throwayay album, but I love it! one of my fav album and song

  • i love this song

  • This song should have been on one of Paul's hits releases (even if it only hit #21 in the US, it still is a great song!)

  • i just love this video and this song! paul is sooooo cute!

  • you're absolutely right!!!

    sexy man <3<3

  • macca takes a bath in the underground

  • This song itself is not so cool, but I think this funny video makes it even better.

  • Sexy!

  • Oklahoma was never like this ?,,,,,lol

  • It would be pretty cool to be on a train with Paul. You could tell he's enjoying it and also wants everyone to notice.

  • Great song, great album. Great man. Long live Sir Paul! (And love to the ONLY TRUE "Lady McCartney", the lovely Linda.)

  • No, it's me.

  • Another lesser tune from another lesser of album of Mccartney. But it would get better after this album.

  • Not his greatest work ever, but not everybody liked Jesus, either!!! LOL

  • Love this song: )

  • man, i was racking my braisn trying to remember the name of this song! then i finally remembered!! brilliant song! good old days :-D xx

  • Me too...for years, I could remember how much I really liked it but for the life of me I could not remember the name of the song...thank god for YouTube.

  • he looks so happy and relaxed here

  • YOU GO SIR PAUL!!!!

  • Only Paul can do this. Why? Because he's Paul.

  • Kudos to the fan that kisses him!!!

That was for ALL the fans!

  • This is ABSOLUTE FAVORITE video of Paul and I love his hair in this - love the gray!!!

SUcha a great guy always mingling with the everyday people. He has a;ways been this way. In NYC he has taken regular city buses!

  • hahaha Nice video!!

    Paul is so cute,handsome,sexy,hot!!

  • Very dated sounding but it's still McCartney-plenty of melodies to grab onto.

  • At the time this was made just a few years after Lennon was killed I can only wonder what type of security he had present.

  • I meet this video recently and I love it! The music, the video with real persons...great!!!

  • I love it when the one man says "he was in the beatles" but he doesnt say it out loud, you just have to read his lips :)

  • That's it, right there, yeahh ;)

  • paul is amazing! i just loved this video!

  • Muy bien por SIR PAUL viajando en metro, como cualquier terrenal. Saludos Humberto MEXICO

  • The farthest He went on 80's, in the nineties i didn't see any fit to that time, neither now. A nice song almost forgotten.
