The verse you use, referring to lucifer, is not in relation to satan (who, in judaism, and thus in christianity is an angel of god who's purpose is to tempt mankind). Lucifer translates to morning star, and that verse refers to a king who was benevolent and fell from grace.

A king does not fall from "heaven". That verse refers to Satan as the principality ruling over a particular region at that time. Interesting analysis, but I don't think that was the point of the movie. The movie in my opinion was about following your dreams, seeking out the unknown, and discovering your true potential. It's also a great parallel to today's "reality show" society.

The verse you use, referring to lucifer, is not in relation to satan (who, in judaism, and thus in christianity is an angel of god who's purpose is to tempt mankind). Lucifer translates to morning star, and that verse refers to a king who was benevolent and fell from grace.

@david1057 no cuz proved science says so, the oldest rocks in the earth date to about 3.8/3.9 billion years back, some of those rock are sedementary and have minerals that are from about 4.1/4.2 billion years back. stop making assumptions.

@HuGmeAnDuDiE The Bible provides a complete genealogy from Adam to Jesus. You can go through the genealogies and add up the years. You'll get a total that is just over 4,000 years. Add the 2,000 years since the time of Jesus and you get just over 6,000 years since God created everything.

Therefor since he himself did not write anything personally and there is no documentation of him we know of, he doesn't exist, so then why then do we learn of him being an actual individual and historical figure and agree he is? When in reality, all you "learned" is just repetition, you actually didn't create anything yourself in this case. A scientist repeats what he's taught, and you repeat what you are taught from what they are repeating. Imitation is the primary way of life for all humans when growing. Schools do not integrate religion into education, and hold a neutral stance on all religion's in the classroom(Evolution does not disprove god). This is the only possible way to appease the many different beliefs held by students. If public schools promoted Islam and Allah(Islamic God), you're opinion would change to, take religion out of schools. Separation of church and state is necessary

The devil and his band of demons keep people and use people to perpetuate a fake world system whereby we live a lie (self-sufficient, godless, everything is fine). Christof is evil in this story and it is he who is the prince of this world (the devil). He 'created' the present world system. Truman discovers the Truth and is set free (the same way I discovered the Truth when Christ found me). This world is physically real, but based on a false economy (the world's system).

A person can believe in God without having been born again. The Jehovah witness, Mormons, & charismatics are proof of that. Interesting analysis, but I don't think that was the point of the movie. The movie in my opinion was about following your dreams, seeking out the unknown, and discovering your true potential. It's also a great parallel to today's "reality show" society.

I am sick to death with the Atheist vs Christianity debate. The atheists here keep complainingabout how christians were clearly "indoctrinated" and "brainwashed" as children by the Bible, while the christians keep complaining about how the athiests have been "indoctrinated" and "brainwashed" by the television/school/media/governament etc. Have any of you ever considered that maybe, just MAYBE, the people you disagree with HONESTLY BELIEVE in what they are saying?

@david1057 Yes, but there is no conceivable way of knowing who is right. I don't doubt that there is a universal truth about the existence or non-existence of God, but that truth is beyond us. We must accept our own ignorance. In the end, you have to simply pick a belief and accept that others will often choose differently. That's not to say that we can't DEBATE the existence of God, but going on a long, inane rant about the stupidity of the people you disagree with is futile and pointless.

What I man to say is that debate can only work if you approach your fellow human being as an equal, no matter how convinced you are of that he or she is wrong. You should never misjudge those you disagree with as brainwashed sheep. If you don't have any respect for those who do not believe in God, then why bother convincing them of God's existence anyway?

@MasterGame12 I will end debate with U by saying that, 1st of all; we're all not equal. God did not created all of us in a communistic fashion. Jews are not as Gentiles, & true Christians are not the same as the heathen. 2ndly, my job is not to convince any one, my job is to speak the true & allow the Spirit of God to do the convincing if he wishes to. If the person chooses not to believe, maybe a follower of the debate will chose otherwise. Either way, the Word of God does not return empty.
