  • how long is someone willing to exercise for?

  • Repeated motion can cause injuries. Liability probably hard to get around. I think the people in the video doesn't have the correct posture. The sitting person lifting his head. etc.

  • Is SkyRide Shweeb or is Shweeb SkyRide?

  • How do you get down?

  • What is the capacity of this transportation system?

  • When you grant that it leaves no carbon...there are definitely questions to be answered, and yet that's the beauty of it all. Do you think Ford had any naysayers when he came up with his mode of transportation? I'm ready for some change. Atleast we would have better physiques for the future. Sexy? you bet!

  • this is amazing.

  • I believe it's a brilliant idea. But like in shweeb I would prefer to sit in enclosed capsule, with no worries about falling out or rain. And I would like to know how overtaking would happen.

  • What happens when you come up behind 90 year gran? how do you get past? this is total shit! cycle anyone? anywhere your imagination can take you, more like where ever there is a bloody great big metal beam. shit

  • @riru69 agree. So this would work as a combination drive. Electric (electro-magnetic) that I can help with movement.

  • This won't go anywhere...

  • Given that the machine isn't dependent upon oars moving water in a particular direction why would the rowing version still have the driver facing backwards?

  • i dont think this is practical, how do you justify how much you will charge per use, after supplying, constructing and maintaining the product. it's a idea.. but just not a practical one. lose the rail's, make the thing fly, then use it as a personalized portable vehicle then you will be in the future.

  • @psykad3lic or, a single cable (one direction) on a light post would be more acceptable than rail structure. This should be faster (200km/h in the future). It could take over people transport, leaving the roads for heavier transport. To fly, you have to keep it in the air. Lot of energy wasted on that.

  • I would like to add a question. How would the SkyRide avoid a lightning strike?

  • @lefsepowered it would obviously have a lightning rod conductor which would be grounded

  • i like this...

  • I bought the original roller blades and still use them today and am excited about the Sky Ride as a form of transportation, entertainment and exercise. Some questions that I would want answered before using the system would be the following; how are collisions avoided or reduced, how are falls out of the pod made impossible or difficult, how would uneven terrain affect both the safety and easy of use, how would stations be secured, and finally where would the stations be located?
