It's the same chords as Hey Soul Sister by Train. Do you think they pinched them? Wonderful instrument and I love the sound, more jangly than my 8 string uke with a box. I heard Seasick Steve playing an instrument made out of two British Moriss Minor hubcaps and a broomstick!
this is a basic chord progression of C Am, F G (I vi IV V). Hundreds of songs use it. I always use this progression to teach people the first time they see my uke. It's the friendliest set of chords.
It sounds much like the way "i'm Yours" by Jason Mraz uses a similar progression. The original is in a different key, but I also find it works nicely in C. Jason wouldn't mind, I'm sure.
FWIW, somewhere over the rainbow is a completely different pattern when played in the same key and has a lot more variations.
C Em Am F
F E7 Am F
C Em F C
F C G Am
etc...
Most rock songs are a lot simpler (like just about anything by CCR as mentioned).
This is why "I'm Yours" requires more variation in strumming patterns or singing to prevent a repetitive sound, but "Over the Rainbow" is generally played straight through with just one strum pattern, but doesn't sound repetitive.
It's how he's letting pressure off the strings. Modulate pressure close to the fret and you'll find you can do the same on your guitar. Helps to have a short string length to make the tension less.
Looks like Am, Fmaj, Cmaj, Gmaj. looks like some kind of soprano. and if youre playing it I would end it with Dm, Fmaj, Gmaj, Cmaj. for a nice turn around. Dm fits nicely dissonant with Am, and Fmaj also.

Either I'm going mad or I that uke is emitting a sort of wah-wah that sounds as though someone is singing the chords. Sounds great ;D
