Hey man just realized that both of us have similar set ups. I bought a GT10 last week and have a Marshall 30 anniversary which I love too! maybe we can share some tips on them. My nickname is my gmail account. Great video by the way!
don't fuck the mesa sound with the boss sound... even if you udit in the line in and onmly , modulation efects and delays.... buy a tc electronics there better... and that what u need if u buy a mesa..
Hello, question, i watched some guy changing from acoustic to distortion only by playing harder, he was using the GT pro rack, can u do that on the gt 10 without changing the gain?
For what I know about the GT-10 you can switch between any two effects by playing harder. You can use this feature to make it sound like an all-tube amplifier (from clean to crunch) or can use to combine unusual effect.
Hay maybe you might know on how to get some Low End in the MT2 setting i have my sound i want but know low end could you tel me how i could get it that would be awesome man thanx
i was wondering isit possible to have the expression pedal on wah and then by the flick of a foot switch change it to digital whammy or wouldi have to go through all settings
Also I wanted to ask... I'm more into jazz actually, so I almost don't use any effects but I was planning o buying the gt-10 or the tone-lab to use a more experimental field kindda psychedelic sounds into my music. Any tips about it?
Hey dude! Very nice playing, 1 Q though. I was wondering, what about the natural dynamics, I mean, w/o raising and lowering your guitar volume, just by your mere touch, you know what I mean? Like for example with a tube screamer, if you play softly enough you can get an almost clean gentle tone.
hey i've been playing for about 2 years and i really would like to have gt-10, BUT all of my equipemment sucks, basically i have the fender squier strat with an sp-10 amp(10watt) and i have a loop station, a boss ds-1, super chorus, and a korg volume pedal witch reduces de noise when i'm using ds-1.
So should i buy the gt-10 or buy a new amp (the problem with the amp is that i have neighbours and i barely have room for it)
nagh man, get ya chops up first, the worst guitar can sound like the best in the hands of a great player, so dont spend any cash on gear till ya ready to go into the kind of sound that you want to make.
cool vids ,do you recommend using the gt10 through a parrallel effects loop ,just for the modulation effects? i am using a jvm 100watt head and currently use individual boss pedals.
i currently have a zoom G2 pedal, great for practice and ive been using it for quite some time and i want to buy a pedal that i could use for years to come, but i cant decide beetwen this pedal or the zoom g9.1ut, what do you recomend?
Thanks for the quick reply. It seems you've become the resident expert on this. I hope you land a job with Boss (if you want). I have a Mesa Nomad55, that has the multi pin amp selector cable. Are you saying that I can use this from the GT midi-out to change channels on the Mesa?!
hi - thanks for the comment. when I use the Marshall, the head supplies the amp sound that I want, so I don't use the gt-10's amp sims with it. You could mix the GT-10 amp sims with the Marshall, but i don't.
I do use the gt-10's OD's and effects with the Marshall. Also, the GT-10 can switch the Marshalls 3 channels via midi, so i can still have a variety of amp sounds available via patch change.
Cool demo of how the GT-10 can clean up almost like a real amp. By the way if you amplify the GT-10's preamps through your Marshall's poweramp section, the whole thing sounds pretty much like the Marshall right (in terms of sounding organic and warmth)?
Maybe I just can't use it properly, but no matter what settings I try, phaser, flanger and humanizer effects sound like crap. I just have it for only a week, so maybe I don't know it's possibilities yet... Does anybody know some good settings for phaser?
I'm thinking about buying one of these in the next week or two and wanted to use the usb connection to go straight into my mac to garageband. I don't have anything to record with right now and wanted to record using the GT-10. Should I go with the GT-10 or find a good amp and mic it?
well, i'm biased towards the Boss - I've been using them for years. Line 6 is great too, but I like the Boss for what I do. This question is asked a lot and I have to say, it's completely up to your own taste. I'm sure a dedicated line 6 user would say the same.
I do like the boss better for controlling my sound easily on stage via the pedals (see video 10) and the fact that Boss MFX are always built like a Tank. None of my Boss MFX have ever broken.
You think you could record into protools/cubase directly from the gt-10 with no amp and get quality sound? I am thinking of putting away the mics and buying one of these for recording and live. Great vids btw.
@bossgtten in wich amp do you connect it? i have a marshall hfx 100w combo. what do you think?

to anyone who says that rich brats are the only people who can afford a pedal like this i laugh at you.
Anyone can save up for this amp, it just takes some people longer to save up then others lol
i was saving for a gt-9 but then the gt-10 came out and i was still saving, eventually i had enough money to buy this pedal.

you can use the 4 cable methot,
begarnham 3 years ago
what is the 4 cable method?
xXAreyPareyXx 3 years ago
guitar > gt 10 input > gt 10 efect loop out > amp in > amp efect loop out > gt 10 efect return > gt 10 output > power amp in (efects loop return)
> = conected to
it works with serial efect loop, or parrallel efect loop turned to 100%
begarnham 3 years ago
thanks alot, really helpful
timbo526 3 years ago
hey i know this is probably stupid. but what is the advantage to this method? does it get better sounds? i follow the loop, but i don't know why.
lukecarnevale 2 years ago
you use the amp distortion, or the amps clean (do you understand? you isolate the pre amp of the amplifier)
begarnham 2 years ago
err isnt that like 7 cables required? lol
Mushroomhead18nc 2 years ago
Actually it's called the "4 cables technique" =)

Are you demonstrating one preamp or 2 dynamic switched preamps? You should demo the dynamic switch if you are not already.

Thanks for your thoughtful demos. Well done, and I really dig your style. Do I detect a little Satch and Lynch in there?
So you use the GT10 in the effects loop of your Head, do you have the distortions and the amp sims in the effects loop as well?

Also...are the pedals easy to use?? you don't get messed up by hitting 2 switches at once?

you don't have to hit two switches at once - where did you read that? the pedal is easy as cake to operate.
