I think that this is a good thing happening right here in Vermont. We need to be more self reliant, and be using less of the fosil fuels or any other method of energy. the only thing that concerns me is the habitat impact. What about bird migration, bats, and other animals that are in the surrounding areas? They are now forced to find alternate routes to where they need to go. Has the environmental group thought about that?
I think they are beautiful. This is power generation we can live with. Keep it local! I hope towns with appropriate sites will consider investing in municipal wind power generation. Keep it local, keep it public in perpetuity. Can't we do this one thing to leave the world a safer, cleaner place for our children? We must not let big corporations co-opt this free renewable resource as they have so many others.
