This is more than wasting taxpayers dollars and time with shut down roads, freeways, and a misallocation of limited city resources. This is barbarism personified. Just over 500 years ago, Western Civilization was in the midst of the Renaisance, a flowering of culture that was contemporaneous with the rise of the West. Now, look at the 'art' that is produced. No talent, no vision, just cheap philosophical gimmicks.
Wow, people are so ignorant! I would think you would get some facts before passing judgment. FYI, the funding is coming from PRIVATE donations. That's right, money that the Museum raised from art enthusiasts willing and able to contribute!
Funding for the arts needs to be pulled. I can MAKE you something substantially more impressive for 200k, fly me there and back and house feed me (the artist) for one week. The people's budget can not afford that? OK 100k. Don't wait and have to move the rock back to realize my art is actual art and much more impressive and safe. If people want to see the rock they can just bike down to the quarry and see it. You found a rock and you are blown away LMAO You need MORE public money. MORONS
How much did this thing cost the city/county? I just read an article that said the rock cost $120,000 and the transport bill will be $1.5 million. Then there's the cost to construct the site where it will be displayed.
Nothing like frivolous spending when your in debt up to your eyes. This state is doomed.

I'd love to the see the process of taking the mass through LA streets. I hope they document it and put it up on the museum website.

@taa960 Dream on hippie. Some of the funds were donated but the majority is from the tax payers.

Part of me wishes a bird would land on it... causing it to crumble to pieces.
