  • May God forgive me...Love from an Orthodox Brother

  • Beautiful. Do you know if this is on one of Valaam's albums?

  • I really appreciate this post, can some one translate the name and lyrics for me?

    email: bvarghese2155@yahoo.com

  • @peachfuzz1011 It is called the Anaphora- which is the part of the Divine Liturgy when the offerings of bread and wine are consecrated. As the liturgy is sung- these are Eucharistic prayers. There are actually stopping points in the anaphora where the priest and deacon will say prayers and then the choir/congregation responds (the words in the song you're listening to here).

  • @peachfuzz1011 Note- I just posted the choir/congregational responses (what's in the video here)

    .

A Mercy of Peace, a Sacrifice of Praise.

And with thy spirit. We lift them up to the Lord.

It is meet and right to worship Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the Trinity one in essence and undivided.

Holy, holy holy, Lord of Sabaoth; heaven and earth are full of Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord. Hosanna in the Highest.

    Amen.

    Amen.

  • Orthodox is the way to Heavens, thanks for posting.

  • Валаам. Карелия

  • 5:08 Elder Efraim!!:-)-

  • Very beautiful and moving chant! Thank you for posting it.

  • Absolutely beautiful. I hope we can be ONE Orthodox Church again soon! Greetings from an Oriental Orthodox Christian

  • so beautiful every time i listen to this!

  • What was the last icon showed of the schemamonks and the angels? Does anyone know what that one is called?

  • @ponyboy1488 I don't think there is a specific name, I found it on a website of a Russian Orthodox monastery, I don't think there are many copies. If I find out, I will tell you.

  • @OrthodoxyIsTruth Ok, thank you. Do you at least remember the name of the monastery?

  • @ponyboy1488

    This is the Valaam monastery.

  • This brings tears to my eyes! I am in the midst of inner turmoil and these songs and chants, I feel, bring me closer to God. I am sad though because I am betraying the one who died for me. ='( May he still love me even though i don't love him sometimes. God bless... this is how I feel.

  • @APK1909 Thanks, are you Orthodox?

  • @OrthodoxyIsTruth I wasn't raised Orthodox at all. I was brought up in a non-denominational church and now attend a evangelical church. It's basically because my parents aren't "on the same page" anymore. So, I am lost.

  • @APK1909 Wow, I felt the same way the 1st time I hear this.

  • @jkullander This music just takes me away to another place.. FAR away from here. It's so relaxingand beautiful!

  • @APK1909 Thanks guys glad you enjoyed it, but don't let these chants give you a false impression of Orthodoxy, it is ancient, it is beautiful, and it is joy, but the experience is not psycho-heresy and charismatic promises of well-being veiled in comforting illusions and small affirmations, true Orthodoxy is hanging on the cross and suffering the agony of it.

  • Merry Christmas! May the God of Hosts glorify the humble in His Everlasting Kingdom, may He shed many blessings upon you and your family in the years to come, let us give glory to Christ, who became man for our sake, and was crucified, and was raised from the dead, conquering sin and death.

Please pray for me as I pray for you, my Orthodox friend.
