Great version of this song. Love it. John Doe has an amazing voice and fantastic stage presence. A must see live act.....if it's with X or the Knitters or solo, see him in person! You will not regret it....

Thanks for posting this! I love X and the Knitters and have seen John Doe sing this song a few times, but I gotta agree with archbishop999 -- Merle is untouchable on this song. Not hating! just saying, it's like listening to Nanci Griffith sing "Tecumseh Valley" -- it's an awesome cover, but I'm calling Townes Van Zandt for the win every time.
