This is the third form we have to learn at my school (school not dojo, we do things differently). I have passed Do San, Yul Kok, and now I'm learning Toi Gye, I'm only a yellow belt, so I don't need this until green. Can anyone tell me the (real) order of forms? Cuz in my school they go easiest to hardest, Do San being the easiest.
Where I go we have (and I may be spelling them wrong): Chon Ji Dan Guhn Do San Won Hyo Yul Kok Joon Gun Toi Gye Hwa Rang Choong Moo And then the black belt patterns.
To the people saying this performance is too fast, this was the tempo advocated by the ITF when this video was shot (in the mid 1990s, I believe). The "official speed" of the pattern has slowed since then. Actually, if you look at old films and videos, the patterns have been slowing down since the mid-late 1980s.
he should slow down abit and put sum effort into it lukin better. thats tha patern im on nd i hope i dnt luk that retarded o_O lol ooh nd he didnt do tha x-block properly it was kinda half arsed =__= shame on him if i did that id have to do 10 laps of tha dojang nd then do it again XD
nice but he has 1-2 wrong movements... before the w save blocks the move when the punches are on the blet,, that move is a relise move when someone has grap you... and its from inside and then they open...
beleive it or not, this is the true correct way of doing the form,if i was told correctly this video was made by masters as a guide so it just cant be wrong.
The arm movements in the middle of his Tul are known as "W" Blocks. He moves like a true ITF Black Belt should. Very precise and very strong movements all throughout the Pattern Toi Gye. Of all the different styles of Taekwondo offered, ITF is the most powerful..!
toi gye used to be my fav form bak wen i trained:)
