dang, supra's are the best. Im so dissapointed, jdm cars importations got banned in my country (CAN) like 2 days ago. Actually, these RHD supras where a lot cheaper than the LHD. I was about to get one but the prices went up (getting rare)..what a bad timing :( I feel sad now believe me. I recently found out that the loud sound that I like and assumed was coming from the turbo, was actually coming from the wastegate.

I recently learned that when turbos hit full boost at a certain rpm level, the external wastegate opens which allows exhaust gases to flow through; which is controlled by a Boost Controller; thus being able to have set-boost levels.

When the exhaust gases are flowing through the wastegate (depending on its size and type) it can create a LOUD hiss-ing sound.

Yea you would still ned a bigger turbo though to make the noise you probably want for the full affect. The stock turbo to get that sound you would need a DP that dumps the wastegate so the wastegate flow is seperate from the exhaust. But it would only sound like that on the outside of your car if you want that turbo threatining sound :p and you have to be WOT for the dump to be full affect.
