  • where's the music? lol

  • wow, i swear to god i gonna marry a cute japanese that can cook.

  • why did they show the finished dish in the middle of the video?

  • @RussianLusia They used to have to do that on youtube so that the thumbnail for the video showed what they wanted, so they put a photo right in the middle of the video :D

  • I just finished eating and the food here still looks so delicious!

  • what kind of sake do they use for these videos?

  • @eminatic you can use cooking sake, or standard sake. Cooking sake is normally cheaper

  • @Reelistiksounds

but you cant drink it. and most chiefs say not to cook with a wine you wouldn't drink.

  • its funny becuz to us this is delacate and to the japenese this is ordinary lolol

  • I wonder if this works good on something else, like pork og chicken... only one way to find out!

  • That is one cool dog! Thanks for the recipe!

  • ~__ _~" I'm hungry

  • what type of sake did you use???? i want to buy it

  • @sonianoviango I think she used cooking sake instead of the drinking ones... :-)

  • OMG...I'm so HUNGRY

  • 1:55 She looks so angry.

  • Man I wish buying all these ingredients wasn't so expensive! I love to experiment with cooking and I can't stop watching these 'cooking with dog' recipes. I wish I could try more, but the ingredients are so expensive. They're all imported or non-existent where I come from. You mostly find Hungarian here. We have Asian marts, but it's mostly microwaveable food and there's usually mostly traditional Mexican ingredients instead of Asian ingredients in the Asian marts. How weird is that? lol

  • TIME TO BUY SOME INGREDIENTS :D

  • 0:59 add water and sorting a small plastic fag xD

  • อ้าว!นึกว่าทำให้นู๋ทานแล้วให้นู๋นั่งดูเฉยๆเนี๋ยน่ะ

  • 14 people blew up their kitchen while making this

  • she eats it very quickly becasue she needs to say that sentence at the end, without having a mouthful of food ^ ^

  • anxious to criticize

  • handshaking to the south

  • what the fuck

  • Thumbs up if you watched this video with the transcribe audio on and started laughing like crazy!!!! xD xD xD xD

  • How to make ur day 10x more awesome:

    Step 1: click on captions

Step 2: click on transcribe audio (beta)

Step 3: Read what it says at 0:58

    Step 4: LOL!!

  • o shi means "Yummy!"

  • @ampdTunes its oishii, not o shi.

  • @486ZQ o shi, you just corrected me! Thx.

  • "be careful not to cause fire on your pan" XD

  • Shes so sweet ^-^

All tho sometimes when she has to taste the food at the end she doesn't seem like she really wants to XD its cute in a weird way

  • i love it when they flash an image of the finished food almost too fast to notice during the lesson, almost to subliminally encourage you to watch until the end because you'll get that great food.

  • is it just me or does she seem kinda down in this video , :( u ok mama

  • This is when Dog went through his hair metal phase. Happens to the best of us <3

  • I'd watch this show on TV....Hint hint, Food Channel!

  • me gustan tus recetas i love me gustaria la receta de la hot sour soup plisss

  • the dog is so cute^^

  • cooking with dog...take that food network!

  • Cooking with dog is the best!

  • pickled turnip in a Chrysanthemum flower O_o? doesn't the flower mean death or something or like for funerals?

  • @xJinko W-well it's a flower of autumn, too if it makes it a little prettier ^_^;;;

It sure looks nice on this dish though *wipes drool* xD

  • @xJinko Surprisingly enough, it is. Not only that, the colour white also means death.

  • is it just me or does the dog kinda look like tina turner here? 0_0

  • gud luck in ur cookin!

  • can anyone give me some suggestions for a 4 dish japanese meal? it's for my cooking class and I want to do a japanese theme.

  • Comment removed

  • @psychoblood12 Stop and watch Rachel Ray or any other food network cooking show and often time they eat quite a bit in front of the audience. This lady took one bite... she always takes one bite.

  • Looks real good

  • awwww the little wisk! 1:44

  • Japanese food has an art form about it, that almost makes me sad to eat it since I'd be destroying a piece of art.

  • 非常高雅美丽的一盘。。。

  • wen she turned the turnip into a flower it was like magic art

  • なんて高度な包丁さばき!

    かぶが きくの花のようです。

    --

What her great skill of kitchen knife!

The turnip looks like just a chrysanthemum flower indeed.

  • This one looks easier to cook. the ingredients are not hard to find. Hmmmm I'm so hungry now.

  • Looks yummy! All your recipes are so good!

  • you are doing a great job there. exactly like a cooking show in tv :)

  • At the end when she says yummy it sorta sounds like she's saying no sh!t XD

  • That is a gorgeous hunk of fish there. I'm in Colorado, and I never see fish looking that good.

  • "Be careful not to cause fire on your pan"

  • I've watched so many episodes of cookingwithdog... but it was only today that it hit me. Is the voice-over meant to be the dog speaking?!

I always wondered what the dog was for...

  • @trislee yes trislee -.- .................

  • Delicious Teriyaki fish !

  • Yuzu and Lemon are two completely different citrus fruites. I'm sure you can wikipedia.

Yuzu are very common used citrus fruits in Japanese dishes. It's more for scenting than flavoring, I would say. They smell great and are also used a lot in bath products here in Japan.

  • Whats the difference between Yuzu and Lemon? :-0

  • um. what kind of yellow tail is being used?

  • TOO AMAZING! haha xD THANKIES!

  • 'be careful not to cause fire on your pan"!!

  • LOL

    I love japanese cooking (L)

  • I agree...amazing.

  • is it possible to use something other than sake or mirin?

    thanx

  • try some sweet sherry, if not, leave it out.

  • 1:32 your making me subconsciously hungry.

    sneaky sneaky :D

  • um chopstick tricks? my mom does that, and so does all her friends. it's just culture.

  • What, using them when cutting the turnip? It's still a cool trick.

  • Clever chopstick trick.

  • i know, i could never do HALF of what they do on this show, i just learned how to eat noodles without looking stupid

  • my mom wouldn't dare to eat this, but I would do it with pleasure.

  • amazing

  • i'm hungry

  • why am i watching these videos? they're making me too hungry lol

  • Whenever I watch these videos, I get really hungry

  • i know how you feel.....makes me want to go out and go to my nearest Marukai and drop all the money i posses and make everything on all the vidoes @_@

  • @sumaru101 haha xD I know lol

I don't understand why Japan isn't full of diabetic people, they're putting sugar into EVERY dish xDD

  • @Monoiru Maybe it's because they eat a lot less of it... (You can't really pile food onto chopsticks like you can with a fork, so by taking their time to eat, they get fuller with less food, so they aren't diabetic)

  • @Monoiru Sugar isn't what causes diabetes. It's either a problem with the pancreas or people just getting too fat for the pancreas to really manage processing things for them any more and it more or less shorts out. You can definitly get fat off of Japanese cooking but you have to work pretty hard at it.

  • @Monoiru like somebody already said diabetes isnt caused by sugar. the problem if you eat too much sugar is rather that youll get a sour stomache, you might get overweight (which is actually one condition to make you prone to diabetes), wear off your teeth ;p

but japan traditionally doesnt have a lot of desserts and sweets to balance that out and they generally dont eat too much of one thing.

  • That looks amazing. I would have never thought it would be so easy to make the turnip look so beautiful. The dishes that you cook are are the best I've ever seen, better than all the restaurant's I've been to.

  • Do you even eat japanese food ?

  • is that supposed to be offensive because it kinda is u loser

  • i am hungry

  • what would be a good substitute for yuzu? is that a kind of lemon or?

  • yuzu is pomelo I believe

  • comment: T.T 'hungry stomach'

  • *drools*

  • wow that looks very good sensei ^^ i wish i coud find the fish though ;__;

  • Lol the dog is cute!

  • with japanese dishes it's not only about the taste but also about the presentation of the dish, like the yellowtail dish you just saw? THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!! the way they present it makes it all the more appitizing, thats one of the reasons I love japanese dishes

  • francis me love you

  • I love the dog chef!

  • i love japanese food!!!

  • I love this show xDD

  • yellowtail with salt is better.

  • Ooooh ppl say its expensive.... Im goin fishin ( IF I COULD DX ) Sighzzz

  • you can find yellowtail at your local market particularly a seafood market...it may be expensive but it's worth it ^_^

  • not that expensive. At the local korean market, i bought 1 for 3.99 per lb. its decent. Cetainly beats meat...

  • i am sooo hungry right now you have no idea!!

  • Sake varies a lot depending on quality, better sake is good slightly chilled, and cheaper sake is good around room temperature or warmed. One thing I find odd about it is that it's very smooth for an alcohol compared to most of the stuff I've had, and has a taste that makes me think, this is what alcoholic flowers would taste like, yes, it's taste actually makes me think of the same thing as when I smell flowers... it's hard to explain, sake is one of my favorites though.

  • well we use sake as anyone uses cooking wine ^^ yellowtail is expensive! any fish is though / i remember yellowtail (buri ぶり)in the states as being more tastey though .. go figure! but there ARE more varieties at any given time at the markets (and psst sake is YUKKY tasting!) ^^

  • wow the japanese really do like sake. ive watched a couple of these vids and a lot have sake in it. i wonder wat sake tastes like. i have to wait ... 6 yrs anyways. im not 21. grrrrr

  • That Yellowtail looks so delicious! It's one of my favorite types of sushi. I want to go to Japan so badly! Their fish markets must be amazing.

  • hahahaha I thougt yellowtail was chicken !!! I'm just stupid !!! XD

  • Hahhahaaaaaa looks sooo tasty

  • muy bueno bravo banzai

  • I love all of your shows; I wish you could cook for me! All of your food looks so delicious. Thank you for all of the recipes!

  • he's the host =) !

  • That yellowtail looks really good! <3

  • Gatch Bell !!

  • sweetness

  • Wow~Yellowtail is like Japan's staple fish~

n the dish is healthy too, with no oil added~i definitely love this recipe~^^

  • I made this with Salmon without turnip. It was so good! Now I know how to make Teriyaki sauce. Yay! :-D

    Thank you for the video.

  • beautiful turnip

  • love your show and Japanese foods is yummy

  • my new favorite food? cream cheese beaten with sugar!

  • awesome videos

  • I tried this with yellow tail filets 2 days ago, and it was a success. I did not include the turnip in the preparation. Instead i paired it with coconut rice and celery root salad. I topped the fish with sliced green onion to add some contrast. Unfortunately, i overcooked the the fish by letting sauce bubble too long. Which sake do you recommend for cooking? Should i use a basic drinking sake? Where can i find hon mirin? my store only carries imitation mirin by kikkoman.

  • That Kikkoman is real mirin, since Kikkoman is a Japanese Company. You can usually find Mirin in Asian Supermarket. Try to find one close to your city.

  • If you could not Mirin, you use white wine mixed honey or coke in place of it.

  • correction:If you could not find Mirin,

I like to add a little ginger sap or sliced garlic to Teriyaki souce.

  • I am hooked on cookingwithdog

    More recipes please

All of them make a lot of sense and are delicious

  • I heard that Chrysanthemum flower are really hard to make grow up but it's a really nice flower indeed.

Is that the iconic flower of Japan?

  • it's not hard to make.but it's seasonal. my granpa usually plant it in the srping so it can bloom in the summer. the chrysanthenum used here is edible one, not the same like chrysanthenum that bloom flower. even though it looks the same, the edible one leaf is generally smaller( in mu opinion). you can find it in the asian market especially vietnamese market.

  • Yeah, Chrysanthemum is used as an arms for Japanese Imperial household.

But I don't think they use edible Chrysanthemum here. They use sweetly pickled turnip and 'uzu' citron as a garnish.

  • Hey Make More Video I love Your Cooking And

    It Look Like dicuse

  • COOKINGDOG'S #1!! COOKINGDOG'S #1!!

  • that looks delicious

  • Thank you. It was delicious :D

  • that is a very beautiful flower. good to eat! lol

  • the yung lady is very stylish

  • the fish looks really tasty and the flower looks too good to eat! it looks so nice =)

  • Thank you for your comment. The texture of the pickled turnip and the sour taste of vinegar fits very well. The process of making the flower looks a little complicated, but actually not. Hope you try it. Thanks again.

  • Wow!~ I am going to make that this weekend! I'm so hungry now. :) I love the flower. This dish looks so easy. Your videos are great, thank you!

  • Thank you for your compliments. Let me know how it goes when you try it. Good luck in the kitchen.

  • I love the cute little dog!

can you substitute mirin for sake?

my local food store only sells mirin.

  • Thank you for your compliments! You can substitute mirin for sake. In that case, you don't have to add sugar since mirin contains sugar. It's gonna be too sweet if you add mirin and sugar.

  • There is a cheap condiment that has mirin flavor, but don't use this type of product as substitute of sake. The product contains salt and it's gonna be too salty.

  • That's what I wanted to do :D

  • I tried this with salmon. So awesome! =)

  • Great! Thank you for telling your experience. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • My mother loves to cook. I'll have to ask her to prepare this for me.

  • HHHHHMmmmmmmmm. :)

  • Bow-wow!

  • nice post 5/5

  • Thanks for watching. Please watch the new movie about Japanese assorted stew.

  • this is a great episode of cooking with dog. the dish looks delicious and i enjoyed hearing the chef's greeting and sign off. would you consider doing an episode on how to make the turnip look like a flower? perhaps you could include instructions on other assorted knife skills that are so well done by the chef.
