Eisner famously proclaimed, "2D is dead," in 2004. Today, thanks to Eisner's resignation and the undeniable success of independent 2D contributions -Disney is crawling back to 2d with the reopening of its Feature Animation department.

Please note, the comment you replied to was made 3 years ago, when Disney was ramping their studio back up to make The Princess and the Frog.
I believe they're currently working on a Pooh movie slated for release in 2011.
