Hmm, a rocket crash that managed to leveled buildings in an almost 1km radius, and damage that huge concrete office building like that. That must either have been a bomb cluster bomb carrying rocket, or an earthquake.

I've seen rocket crash remains folks, if you think a rocket with only, what, 50% of its fuel could do that much damage then you obviously didn't finish high school. Of course that's the average viewers of discovery isn't it?

The vast amount of damage in a 1km radius would have been caused by the shock wave when the rocket hit the ground and exploded with tons of fuel still onboard, this would explain why the damaged buildings surrounding the impact have no fire damage while some have. The buildings would have been poorly built to start with and the shock wave would have easly ripped them apart at the seams.

I am an aerospace engineer, I might not specialize in rockets but I did take my share of thermalchemstry and combustion courses in my years in school. Trust me, there's no way any rocket could level that many buildings, not when it has 100% fuel, and definately not when its already used half of them. You need a fully loaded rocket detonated at a specific altitude to even get the shockwave to travel that far, and the chemical potential energy still wouldn't be enough to level concret buildings.

After looking at the full version I'm now sure the rocket exploded above land and then again on impact. The foundations of buildings are mostly intact but have been gutted and debris everywhere, looks like the aftermath of a tornado. Also the tress have been stripped bare and no signs of vegetation in the area. Can't be an earthquake thats for sure, it was a blast of some kind for the reasons above thus my take on it been a shock wave. What is your explanation for the damage?

That's the point isn't it, we don't know where the footage was taken from. You can't see any trees in the hill behind the village, in July, in XSLC, which is a forested area.

There are no shortage of major explosions like chemical plants elsewhere in China and I'm pretty sure they grabed one of those, I'm simply telling you the fuel required to send a rocket into orbit is phyiscally not possible to cause the damage see in the video.

By the way, do some research on rocket explosions, hell do a search for rocket explosion videos here. Rocket fuel are not designed for explosions, their flame propagation velocity is chemically controled so its impossible to expand fast enough to cause that large a shockwave. Even the Russian moon rocket which exploded with 100% fuel on the pad didn't give out a shockwave.

If that explosion at the end was from a Chinese rocket, then China built one hell of a rocket.

you should ask them shouldn't you, but if you ask me it looks like a chemical plant explosion, which actually stores fuel that's capable of causing such a massive shockwave. What I do know is the place is not Xichang, and what I learned in school tells me its impossible that's from a rocket, how or where Discovery got that video is not something I can give a concrete answer on.
