What about those of us who are new graduate registered nurses, who were lied to about the nursing shortage, all the way thru school from both professors and texts. There is a shortage of experienced nurses but not new grads. I grad with a 3.5 GPA in May 2010 and have yet to find anything. Am now looking for secretarial work or anything else I can find. I am even considering getting a CDL license and driving a schoolbus. My skills in nursing will evaporate

Most of the 46% who do not have a full time job during the summer don't want one. I am concerned tht my kids won't be able to get work when they turn 16, becasue many of the jobs we had as teenagers are now jobs held by retirees, 30 somethings with a second job, or fallback job due to unemployment. The biggest scam today is a college education. 100k-200k for an education that is a fraction of the quality it was even 20 years ago. I went and took a calculus class again for refresher and when I first took it 15 years ago, calculators were NOT allowed to be used until test time. And then they had to be basic calculators. So, WE had to really learn the material not just input it into our graphic calculator and get an answer in 2 seconds. I was appalled at what the schools have turned into
