that was the second game i got for the original gameboy in 1989..man i loved this game,the title theme is epic,the whole presentation was grand AND it was hard as fuck..never finished this game..i just found out that there were more games with the knight character on the NES..think i`ll fire up some emulator .-)

The main theme to this game pops into my head quite often. I did not like this game but when I was six I would just let the theme play until my batteries died... probably why it is still stuck in my head 15 years later :p

Love how they used W&W1 sprites for this. What do gems do in this game? The first game, tey were used to bribe gate keepers, the second, they could be used for money.

How does your character strike with the hand wielding the shield, and yet still wield the said shield ? Magical-elbow-twisting stuff ?

I'm guessing he has the shield over his forearm and is still then able to use sword. I always loved the Wizards & Warriors series, there should be a revival of this series....they did it with Golden Axe, why not this? I always wondered why Kuros is a knight in full armor in the game, yet on all the box arts of this series, he's depicted as a Conan type character?

wow,this brings back memories...It is a very frustrating game!I remember the gameplay being too "slippery" I could never seem to keep from the holes!I was too young I suppose...And I always thought that I hadn't got past lvl 1 but I recognized all of the enemies..weird.Thanx for the upload!!

The skull has a jaw open sequence. It regulary opens the mouth for one or two sequences.

the enemies and animations are practically identical to the ones on the NES, and I gotta say.....I far prefer the NES games, this one looks way too linear....and the first stage music sounds so unfitting, lol, not to mention the great ending, how blunt.

this game gargoyles quest and castlevania were the hardest i´ ve ever played on my GB!

Ahh - great childhood memories. I use to fire my monochrome GB up just to play this timeless classic. Why? Well, there are two reasons why: It's an amazing classic I grew up playing, and it IS hard as FUCK to beat! Fuck you, Malkil (the final hellacious boss in the game)! Guess I'll go download a ROM of this now. R4 FTW! :)
