So, find out the height at which all the frequencies that CO2 absorb are all filtered out...

It is about 40 ft.

After that point, more CO2 does nothing because there is no more radiation left in the band that co2 absorbs.

In fact, the first 50 ppm does most of the work and adding more (to 380 ppm) just lowers the height to extinction...to 40 ft.

The sun is 600 K to us. Earth is about 300 K. A body can only radiate proportional to T^4 (Stephan boltzman...) . When distances are accounted for, sun is 70x that of earth from our position. Where does the 69 units go? Answer ... reflection, conduction, convection... 1 unit is radiation.

Heat is mixed in air and atmosphere conducts, convects.

The rest is convected (a greenhouse is a convection limiting device, which earth is NOT), conducted (linear drop in temp across a hot/cold medium...heat transfer) away. The conduction is into the ground as well as the air.

Radiation is 1/70th of the factor, and co2 is 8% of that... Big deal...
