  • "WHAT THE...........!!!"

    Lol in that gimps face

  • OHMYGOSH!!! I wanted to do that so bad!!!! WOW!! :D Kudos to the max, that was my favorite part about London! Well, I loved it in general, but Bath was my favorite day..

  • Comment removed

  • @Dreamer40 soz I live there its just south

  • I live in australia, but i have been to that roman bath, its in a place called "bath" just north of Bristol, England, beautiful place, i felt like jumping in as well lol...

  • America Rocks!!!!!!!

  • The British are such gits. "don't move" "I need to get a letter to give to your doctor". Look either arrest the guy or let him go. Don't tell him "don't move" and then walk away.

  • @Indygoguy are you a complete retard? there is a chance of him dying so he ran to call a doctor you absolute spazz... he's not going to calmly walk away is he. stupid fucking american. come to england and think you can do what ever you want. this is why every country hates you.

  • @peteristehbest you are the complete retard if you actually think there was a chance of him "dying" Why don't you just roll over now and die, give your country to the turd worlders. you are afraid of water now , it is all over for you.

  • @Indygoguy there is lead in there...it is thousands of years old. if that lead got in your blood system you will get blood poisoning and die. dipshit people have already been seriously ill and infact almost died from doing it. you know literally nothing about the roman baths yet i live just 4 mins away from it. i know for a FACT

that if you go in that water you can get a very horrible disease that can kill you. it's not the water that will kill you, its whats IN the water that can kill you. spaz

  • @Indygoguy Mate, your a fucking tard, a girl did die after swimming in the bath, due to the water content. She got Bronchitis from it .

  • Didnt you get arrested? Suprised that guy didnt get the police and worry about that later...to be fair ive always wanted to do that :D

  • Stupid american dumbfucks, mindless running around, jumping around without thought, to the point of doing massive stupid shit just to look "cool." When this guy got home he probably bragged to his beer buddies and then gave his gf meningitis.

  • Idiot tourist

  • haha that twat saying i need to get a letter to give to your doctor. LOL

  • That water is infected with meningitis I hear. You used to be allowed in.

  • Glad the English are standing up for the work of the Romans.

  • You focking wanka.

  • this guy is funny, like what the hell did he think n jump in there, shit hahaa...u know u rnt suppose to jump, bt who cares, after all rules r meant to be broken haha

  • and why is it always american tourists who do it r they trying to insult us coz of they want to do that then they can walk into a pub and see what happens

  • @charlieiscool1000 If you are going to insult people learn how to type, spell and speak the correct way. "r" and "coz" are not words and using "of" instead of "if" in a sentence. You proved to be a bigger douche than the people you were trying to mock.

  • Comment removed

  • Its called internet slang u cunt you dont have to spell everything correctly on here and thanks for being a grama nazi americans are the only people who act like this when there abroad not all of them but some idiots like this guy now kindly fuck off

  • r u even allowed to do that what an idiot ur not suppose to fucking jump into it

  • @charlieiscool1000 I think maybe, Just maybe, Thats why he did it.

  • Frankly I could not careless about whatever you might pick up from the bath. It is highly unlikely to be deadly, but it wont do you any good. If you cant work out that this was dumb idea from the fact this is an algae filled lead basin then you are just plain stupid. What annoys me is that it is people like you that make the Roman Baths Museum wary about increasing public access. There is lots of the Bath few see exactly because they think people like you will damage it if they open it.

  • I wonder if the put up rails or some kind of fence between the pillars to keep this from happening.

  • lmfaooooooooooooo omg hahaha

  • Wow did you get a major rollocking? They get arsey even if you put a finger in.

  • Any body got a description of how that water got dirty and what bacteria is in it and also if there is any roman bacteria in it and/or dna how did bacteria survive so long

  • just because americans have no historic sites they have to try and ruin every1 elses

  • Comment removed

  • English accented authorities just make me want to slap the bitch

  • Steerpike no they didn't 1 person died, and they overreacted. They stopped people drinking the healthy spa water, killjoys it was good.

  • Awe, smelt so bad you had to act?

  • lol. this may sound really stupid, but is it against the law to jump into the baths. like, if i were a citizen of england, and i were to jump in, would i get locked up or fined. also, were the baths ever used in our time, with in the last 50 some odd years. just wondering if they really cleaned anyone. also, how deep is it. i would not want to go into that murky thing if it was more than tree feet deep. how deep is the deepest. these are the questions that haunt me

  • @teenmod12 its about 5 feet deep at the deepest point and i think you were never aloud to swim in it just to touch it

  • EEP! The water is infected....

    So, is he dead yet?

  • Ah my apologies correction:

"The water is colourless but acquires its distinctive green hue from algae growth caused by its heat and by daylight."

Page 7 of the Visitor Guide: The Essential Roman Baths.

Apologies for the incorrect information earlier.

  • The reason why swimming within the baths is that the quality of the water cannot be guaranteed (H&S issue) and secondly that encouraging it would result in masses of people swimming, the burden of which would be difficult to manage. The baths had over 800,000 visitors during 2007. Think of the consequences if even half of those visitors wanted to swim . The reason for the colour is the high iron content. The water is constantly changing as more rises up from the ground and is discharged.

  • but iron would make it red.. but lead, now that would make it green!

  • yes iron would make it red your right

  • The security guy says they have to send a letter to his doctor. In 1978 they found a killer amoeba in that water: "In 1978, when the baths were invaded by a killer amoeba, our most famous spa town became suddenly spa-less." Hundreds of tourists died. They shut the baths to try & eradicate the amoeba. They never found it. Thay guy almost certainly has caught it - which is why the security guy is freaking out.

  • I'm pretty sure ONE girl died of amoebic meningitis. That sensationalist quote is from the Sunday Express. They found the amoeba, it was Naegleria fowleri. All the more reason for keeping the baths closed. I certainly wouldn't stick my head under!

  • awesome! better try once than never XD

  • LOL that was funny, but please have a bit of respect!! if it was your home town you would not like it"!

  • people like them, make that the ancients rome antique deform and destroy. im agree that this men will go to jail, for idiot and irresponsability. If you had been in spain,my country, you had gone to jail sure.

  • Took some balls !

    nice one.

  • LOL

    that water is fucking green.

    think about this.

when the Romans used it, it was crystalline.

Oh well, this made me giggle.

Hahaha, that guy has a lot of balls.

  • is he even allowed?

  • no he isnt

  • That was funny |HA

  • well done sir!!......brave.....but fucking funny!!!

  • mate,m8,2l8

  • btw, the knob comment was in reply to "samswaydean"... don't know why it has published up here.. anyway, well done, i would never have the balls!!!

  • I loved seeing someone go in the water. Hooray!

But what did the letter to the doctor say - what are the terrible diseases that they are claiming?

  • Oh yeah, by the way, Bath is NOT in London. Bath is in Somerset which is at least 2 and half hours away from London...

  • its an hour and a half by train and like 2 hours by car....

  • That doesn't mean it's in London. England isn't a big country. Does that mean Sheffield is in Newcastle because it takes 2 hours in a car? No. What a ridiculous comment mate.

  • i never said it was in london

i just said u were wrong about how long it takes to get to london "mate"

  • It could be more than 2 hours if the traffics bad...mate.

  • i live about 15 minutes away from bath, and because i live in the same council bath is is, i can get in for free

  • absolute tit! it's not even cos it's dangerous cos of the stuff in the water but the sheer disrespect you show the place. i hope the dormant bacteria in your system from jumping in come back to bite you in the butt.

  • knob

  • this is incredible! i visited the roman baths and would not have dared jump in. way to go!

  • i live 5 minutes from the roman baths, i never knew i actually lived in london.

i was sure it was called the city of bath.

  • hey what did the security dude say lol

  • Sounds like he said "Stay right were you are" and something about a Doctor. I bet he got told off badly.

  • brentwc3 this event couldnt have happened in london as the roman baths are in Bath. You blatently are brent corrigan lol

  • What's wrong with going in there? The Romans loved it. Looks a bit green mind!

  • I've always wanted to go to the roman baths... lived there for nearly 19 years and never been.... AND i can get in for free!!!

  • good idea that water is high and i mean high in sulphur...not good

  • funny but dude, that water if filthy..ive lived in bath all my life..the reason we dont swim in the bath is for health reason.you should have used the multi million pound hot spa 2 mins down the road..its awesome.has a sweet rooftop floor with a view across bath

  • I cleaned off at that spa instantly after jumping in.

  • @stacey696 yes i went there the new one outside lovley jubbly went with dad

  • gosh

  • haha i work there!

i really wished i'd seen it!

not like I'm encouraging it or anything!

but it be so cool to do that!

    btw people

it's all about health and safety now days

and tht guy prob had a nice shower from security after!

  • What a typical, free-spirited, all American boy. A touch of mischief, a touch of good-natured foolhardiness. We need more wholesome boys like this and fewer gay male porn stars.

  • eswyatt:

Yeah, another typical WHITE asshole who thinks being "American" entitles him to act like an ass anywhere in the world.

Hopefully he got 30 days in an Italian jail.

Like that "free spirited" asshole in the 80's bringing drugs into Turkey, busted and ended up with YEARS sentence, got several diseases STDs as somebody got a hold of his "wholesome" ASS..ets.

was force to give the guards BJs and only when he killed a guard in process of being forced for a BJ

  • Manpanati, it's sort of an inside joke. Brent Corrigan IS a gay male porn star and the bareback king of cobra video. Here he's trying to re-invent himself as a wholesome boy. He'll delete this the next time he logs in. BTW, bath is in England, not Rome.

  • eswyatt:

    oh Ok

No wonder your statement sounded kind of weird.

    Rock on! :-)

Who's the porno guy? the one who jumped in or the Camera guy?

  • The one who jumped in.

  • Just to inform you the man jumping in was not a gay pornstar, but a gay porn star stole my name. And Manpanati... This event happened in London and I was just kicked out.

  • I wouldn't say that, all your subs will leave.

  • Idiot.

    1. It's not in London numbnuts

    2. There's some pretty lethal bacteria in the water - yes someone did die

    3. People fall in by accident often, it's no big deal. It does not make you cool.

    4. Being American doesn't entitle you to act like a prat in other countries. Please grow up before you visit the UK again (preferably don't visit again)

    5. Being a stupid tit doesn't either

  • I say "When at a Roman Bath do as the Romans did"

Thus I imagine a quick swim was the least of the security persons concerns!

  • What an idiot! I refused to even stick one finger in that water. There are only about 10 signs and a few guards warning you not to touch it, and this guy jumps right in.

  • No doubt that was an american?

  • @newquay03 LOL thats exactly what i was gonna say

  • @newquay03 how the fuck would know where the person is from since there a millions and millions of tourists visiting the UK all the time?

  • my mates n me have done it a few times (pissed) 1 mate cut himself wile swimming 4 about 25mins, he had a check up and no prob.

  • I used to swim in this great bath 40 yrs ago & so did hundreds of others. The water comes in from the spring & then flows out to the river avon. Pity its not used today as a bath. Can you imagine the romans who built it," just looking at it" & not using it for the purpose it was designed!

  • they closed it to the public like 30 years ago cuz this girl got some kind of meningitis and she died cuz she was swimming in it

  • how is the water so dangerous?? just being dirty.. there is dirty water in mud puddles I understand this water has been stagnant forever and there is bacteria but serious what risks does that pose??? and what does the security say??... can't hear him.

  • The pipes were lead. Also, you don't want people in something VERY old. Like not being able to take pictures inside catacombs.

  • you can't take pictures in catacombs??? what the fuck??? my life is ruined!

  • lol thats hilarious. did he get in a lot of trouble? im wantin to do baylor in great britain this summer...maybe ill jump in too! haha

  • Yay Brent!! You make Baylor so proud! This was my favorite story of the trip

  • just shut up random guy, it was open to the public only 30 years ago, he jumped in for a laugh, obviously aware of the health risks, try relaxing a bit.. deep breaths help

  • just cuz stuff was open 30 years ago doesn't mean its safe now. Public opinion on what's safe changes daily. LEAD (like the lead in this bath) has recently been banned from paint because it's dangerous. More places are banning public smoking due to 2nd hand smoke fears. Ideas and opinions change. So 30 years ago it was viewed as ok, NOW they can test the water quality and see just how horrible it is. They probably realized that continual bathers were wreaking the place from wear and tear.

  • deadlydonkey5

  • To be honest I don't really care if someone hurts themselves or gets sick from jumping in the water after being told not to, serves them right......more importantly the site is 2000 years old and it is a little hard to replace if it gets damaged. Putting your foot through the 2000 yr old lead lining cos you jumped in for a laugh.....very smart.

  • it doesn't have lining dumbass, it's concrete.

  • Have you been there? I have worked there and it is lined with lead DUMBASS!! Seen it quite a few times when they drain it for cleaning.....get your facts straight.....

  • Sorry AndyBumdrew, but deadlydonkey5 is right, the pool is lined with lead, that's how the Romans built it!

  • @AndyBumdrew It has a lead lining mate

  • Hmmmm, fuck authority, what a great idea! Maybe they told him not to jump in cos the water isn't very deep. A broken neck is just hilarious! And the reason the guy said he needed a doctor is becasue of the risk of getting meningitis from the water. Wouldn't that be funny too!! Maybe when people say don't do it there is a reason - ever think of that?

  • How do you get a broken neck form jumping in 3 feet of water feet first?

  • the impact of your feet hitting the bottom of a pool can possibly jar your entire spine and shatter various parts, paralyzing you (I'm a former lifeguard). Its not pretty. With that said, its rare. Most people walk off with a bruised tailbone from a stupid landing after a cannonball.

Honestly with this I'd be more concerned with lead poisoning, destruction of an irreplaceable artifact and god knows WHAT kind of batceria. But you lived and you didn't learn so why bother lecture.

  • ummm sorry that was suppose to be in response to the "how do you get a broken neck in 3 feet of water feet first" question. My bad.

  • @ielle77 You aren't allowed in it because they want you to pay for the new health spa across the road.

  • @Brentwc3 You land on your head. Probably by slipping. Did you really need help with that question?

  • Fuck Authority!

  • why did the guy say he needed a doctor

  • Suckers!

  • hilarious! god they make it so tempting.

  • hahahaha...brent...you crack me up

  • Wait what is the dude saying I can't really hear?
