@Realbastard1 steampunk isnt a real music genre. its more like the general feel and theme of the music. with abney park the actual genre varies quite a bit, but i think it would count as industrial or possibly even metal. but definitely look up dr. steel.

Great band overall, violinist and backup singer and keyboardist and didgeridoo are amazing. Love this song. Awesome insane apocalyptic look too. And wicked deep lyrics. BUT: The lead singer sounds pretentious and contrived... he's not really channeling his Muse, but trying to force it, trying to make it sound cool/dramatic.etc, instead of being really moved from the root of his being. Music is about the Subconscious & connecting to it -- which is why the Steampunk look is irrational, but cool.

This is perfect for the post-apocalyptic steampunk style. Making music with whatever instruments can be scrounged or built, and playing with the musicians that can still be found. Abney Park isn't about the Victorian with technology angle, rather the retro-engineering technology with the remnants after the world's been blown to hell.
