Great song, and a reminder to me (aside from being a great song writer) why I've always appreciated Mellencamp. I've always liked his all American "cornyness", yet his obvious open-mindedness. He was way ahead of his time with the Cherrybomb video. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like that he's a countryboy, but not a redneck and a racist. In fact, if your familiar with most of his music you probably realize that he's what most redneck racists call a "Liberal".

One of my favorites. I don't agree with the political idiot part though. Seems like a no bullshit kind of guy to me, always has. A free spirit, generous and truly in love with his fellow people.
