perhaps my words were too harsh, since I didn't give any constructive criticism. but without seeing the full body, that is difficult. it looked more like showing off than wanting to improve
why would someone put such basic moves on youtube. At least some passes....or a pirroutte. I thought the kicker was that it was a male, but we never discovered that. basiccally a waste of time to watch.
i think all the noise's a good thing - you can hear it when you do any sort of rise onto pointe and it looks like you're jumping, if you work throught your foot the noise'll go down so its kinda a guide :P
Why do so few people wear tights when they perform pointe on YouTube? Just an observation. Don't jump on your pointe shoes in echappes. Also, try to get fully on the box, not on one side or the other. You could roll your ankle that way. In berres (sp?) the back foot should lead, not the front foot. Oh, and this is probably just a matter of preference, but I think most people tuck the bow in. It looks more professional.
Ah okay. It wasn't a stab anyone, by the way. It was just curiousity. I prefer tights and I still build callouses, but I can see how not wearing them would build it faster.
the loudness might be due to the camera being placed on the floor, or at least that's what it looks like. try placing a book or something under the camera to help muffle the vibrations of the floor affecting the camera. that might help the loudness. my camera does the same thing if i place it directly on the floor even in bare feet.
Your pointework is fine and your legs are wonderfully developed in muscle tone, but those shoes sound like you're trying to hammer a nail. You sound like a tap dancer. Are they fresh out of the box? Try customizing them a bit. Take a hammer to those shoes. You can also try soaking them in water, slamming them in a door, or putting them under your matress.
Best of all to you. May you truly... well, dance forever.
Lovely, baby ballerina. You just rivet. It's often been said many times, many ways... that a girl who dares to take ballet is a ballerina by definition alone. But, no. No, darling one, no.
She is not yet ballerina, but she is close. A ballerina isn't just the principal in the company. She is near. Just like Pointe without Pointe shoes is Demi-Pointe. Semi-Pointe.
As I watch this, I can safely say... "You are ballerina."
your feet are very pretty but try rolling through your feet more. you are jumping on point for your seconds which i think is making most of your noise. other than that you did very well.
Can someone please help me!? I just got my pointe shoes today & I sewed the elastic and ribbons on them and tried to work on breaking my shoes in. I wear an 8 in street shoes & I got a Bloch Amelie in 5.5 XX. The lady who fitted me, assured me this was my size. But When I put them on, they r extremely tight & when I get into 3rd or 5th position or even plie, I'm in so much pain! She told me it was normal. But I feel like my toes are curling a little & that the box is not wide enough. Help!
try not to bounce up and down so much, and work your demi pointe in more it will break in the shoes more and let them be more move-able. but great arches and nice shoes, they fit your feet well.
My only suggestion is something that my teacher has been working with my class on... dont jump up onto your pointe, but make sure that you are fully rolling up onto your toes.
When you come off of pointe, roll through your demi pointe. Don't just collapse down. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! When you releve, DON'T sickle your feet! I got so scared watch your releves, because I saw a gap between the inside corner of the box and the floor. It hurt my ankles just to watch.
WOW!!! Plz could you tell me how painfull pointe shoes are... Im in grade four, going into grade 5, i will be starting pointe soon. Ive herd horrid things like your feet rip, and bleed and hurt...? Is it true!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh but you look amazing, and not inpain though i couldn't see your face!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
@TheJackwillslover123 you just have to deal with it it really hurts!!! i reccomend using pouches and animal wool to cushion your feet as much as u can my feet havnt ripped but they have bled even though my pointe shoes were comfy before i started pointe training make sure they are comfy in the shop but yes they kill sooooooo much!!!!!
i know i said i reaaaaaalllyy wanted to go on pointe, i have only been on them a few times and boy do they hurt!!!!!! they are soooooo painful, dont rush in like i did it hurts!!!!!
Loud pointe shoes. When lowering en pointe, use your muscles to lower softly - it helps. Also, go through your feet more to strengthen them. I have been dancing for 9 years and put on pointe 2 years ago when I started training at the Dance School of Scotland, and the teachers there told me what I've said above. Good work though!!
you are really goood! im not very experianced being en pointe yet but try use your calf and thigh muscles to bring your self down softly it takes a lot of muscle to be able to do it but with a bit of practise it'll start to show :) other then that you rly are soo good :) well done!!
I did ballet when i wuz 5 an wuz scared uv the parents watching me!!! lol i started ballet again last year and my teacher moved me up 2 pointe prep. i can't wait 2 get my pointe shoes!!!! hopefull will get them before next year.... i'll b 14 then!!!! (12 almost 13) = ) ps ur so good!!! pointe shoes r beautiful!!!!
i am 13 and my dance teacher will not let me go onto pointe until i start my periods!!!! i have been doing ballet since i was 6/7. i am on grade 5 (batd) and i am 14 in august. i relli want to go on pointe!
I'm no expert, I've just been on pointe for about 3 years now, but you seem to me to be jumping to pointe and back down again; I would work on rolling through your feet a little more softly. Otherwise, you look great! :)
I'v been on pointe for 5 yrs. and it doesn't matter wat you weigh just make sure your ankles r strong because if there not that will be very dangerous and you will break them :( But i'm sure you can do it !!! :)
wow your really good you look very steady! i started ballet in Sep. 09 and im 13 almost 14. I got my first pair of pointe shoes yesterday and i got Bloch Serenade's! keep up the good work! X
I live in New Jersey, and I want to go on point. I'm 5 foot 7inches. But, i weigh a little more than I should. How much should I weigh to be on point!? Can you give me any advice or tips???
Honestly, I don't think weight matters at all as long as your ankles are strong because it's all in your ankles that will hold you up and keep you balanced. Your teacher will tell you when you seem ready to go on pointe (:
no, that's not true. they are especially good for high-arched feet, as I heard. but the only real problem is that gaynor mindens are definitely not a good shoe for beginners. they're made for more advanced dancers. I suggest you should go with either bloch, russian pointes, freed or capezio (but I strongly recommended bloch/capezio). they're great for those who've just started pointe.
nice fett- you got a lot of responses. put carpet on the floor to show videos- your not that loud it's the floor. but- teacher says- (that's what I do) demi plie. deep. you won't hurt yourself like everyone thinks- but soon you will need to spring to high arabesque from fifth plie so lower means higher OK?
WHACK. WHACK. WHACK. These are the loudest pointe shoes I've ever heard. You may be jumping onto pointe too much, but try to roll through and soften your box because those are SO LOUD.
my teacher tells me to spring up to pointe for pirrouettes and stuff but this is actually jumping. you don't actually want to go off the ground. be careful!
They need to be broken in more. Please TUCK the ties/strings into the pointe shoes.
You are actually doing pointe/tap. You are being too heavy and not lifing out of your shoes. learn how to slow down and use your feet in the shoes, so that when you come down you either roll down softly or spring down via 7/8th pointe. Never clump down in pointe work. You have strong legs, now work on body to support your legs and feet.
ROLL THROUGH YOUR FEET! lol. but seriously, you are good, but rolling through your feet is better for you, and i makes it not so loud. your bourre's are nice, but turn out your back foot more. maybe a different shoe might work for you.... something with a longer vamp... russian pointes or something.. otherwise, really good! keep up the ballet work!
on you last releves bit you have to pay more attention to your big toe, i saw that you're rolling more to the back....jusst what my teacher tells me :)
i love you feet very nice point, full stretched ankle and good arch:) i have flat feet wish i had feet like yours :)
that floor is good to work on your softness with your feet. Try doing some echappes while trying to control the noise you make. Make more of it as a slide of the foot then a spring out to the sides. Doing it slowly works first then gradually speed up until its quieter than before. The worse thing seeing girls on pointe is sounding like they are office ladies walking on heels click clacking through an office haha XD Good work otherwise :P
nice muscle strength and its loud but that is all you could work on it might just be the floor and its fine to jump onto pointe not all methods say so though but nice work
how long have you been on pointe? you seem to be doing pretty well! except that i noticed you were sickling sometimes. and i would also suggest that you take smaller steps on your boures. good luck!
too noisy, really... and try going on ur pointes after going on ur half pointes (is that english?? lol) and i find ur legs too straight, hm not enough smooth, sry, im french, i dont speak very good... XXX
pretty good. try rolling more, definitely. Your shoes are so loud!!! is it really that loud, or is that just the camera/your floor? try doings exersizes to stretch the front of your foot so that your tondu is better, and your feet wont sickle. good luck, keep it up!
I think you are definitely really good. Great feet! I would only say to make sure you really get your heels down coming off pointe, especially in plie. And maybe try rolling through your feet a little more. Good work though :D

My teacher who teaches pointe ballet as well tells me i have very good arches, very strong ankels and a really good turnout.
I Practice ballet at home a few times a week, and i have been doing so for two years now.
Could i go en pointe?

how long have you been on pointe? you seem to be doing pretty well! except that i noticed you were sickling sometimes. and i would also suggest that you take smaller steps on your boures. good luck!

bEsTfRieNdzZ94 2 years ago 2
pretty good. try rolling more, definitely.

Good work though :D
penguinstealsocks 2 years ago
nice feet you just need to slow down

is it true people put wood in the ballet shoes to make it look good?
kateyritchie 3 years ago
no.
sophiarocksyourworld 3 years ago
THAT WAS TOTTALLY AWESOME!
kateyritchie 3 years ago
The noise is not professional ;) you don't hear professional ballerinas dancing on pointe.
your exercise was OK.
maybe your ballet trainer has already told you to "unroll" your feet after the echappes?
how long have you been dancing on pointe?
ananasblatt 3 years ago
of corce because those were hard ballet shoes, im guessing
