i think he is most comparable to Turkoglu but is a more athletic and better shooting version..but he has the court vision like Turk and he also loves to have the ball in the 4th quarter....its all a matter of how much Gallo wants it cause he has the chance to be a all-star in this league for a long time...it will be fun to see him grow

I like both Gallinari and Bargnani, but neither of them have a shot at being the next Bird or Nowitzki, respectively. Bird is a top 6 or 7 player of all time and Bargnani just doesn't have the midrange and ball handling ability that Dirk does.

Bargnani is better putting the ball on the floor and way better at ball handling. He's also quicker than Galli. That's not saying a lot, since Galli isn't forced to play center and can't really exploit matchups.This is why he needs to develop his back to the basket game ala Bargs, who now forcfes mismatches on both sides of the floor- perimeter and interior. Although Galli is not nearly as athletic as Bargs, he is likely is just as good of a shooter. His ceiling is probably a more fluid Okur.

Bird isn't a top 6 player of all time. He's the most overrated "great" of all time, when you take into account his era, people were not even nearly as athletic, fast , or strong as people are now. In this era, Bird in his prime wouldn't even be better than Peirce.

That's why you can't usually compare guys across eras. The reason guys are considered greats is because of how good they were in their own time. How many past greats would be nearly as good now? Very few. Magic woudn't have near enough quickness to utilize his passing ability and he wasn't a super good shooter, Dr. J wouldn't be strong enough to score inside like he did, plus his (self-claimed) 38 inch vertical wouldn't help him elevate above the defense anymore. Your point is invalid.

Sorry, not everyone is as politcally correct as you. How many times has the media constantly compared lebron to Magic, Adam Morrison to Bird, etc.? That's why we are forced to compare players between eras, because players like Bird receive unfair recgonition in a weaker league. It is a fact that plyaers have gotten significantly better over the years. I agree with everything you said, although I argue Dr.J would be effective in this era- where athleticism is paramount.

The NBA of the '80s wasn't a weaker league, sure the individual players are all better now, but the competition between players and teams was just as good or better than now. Bird didn't receive unfair recognition, three in a row MVPs, which was voted on by the coaches, I believe. How about this, T-Mac now would dominate Bird in his prime, but who was better as compared to his respective peers? That's how the great players are judged.

Gallinari is the truth ... He may never be the centerpiece of this team but he's a 6'10 SF/PF who can shoot the 3 @ 45%.Their aren't a lot of those in the NBA he's already in the Rashard Lewis / Hedo Turkoglu class ... He can shoot the deep ball, handle the rock, and he's tougher than expected. He's still only 21, when he gets stronger and can finish his drives he's going to be unstoppable.

Gordon isn't even the best undersized Gordon in the NBA ... that would be Ben Gordon.
