Poor Dottie she was talented to write songs but not blessed as much as her voice was concerned. She had limited singing abilities. But she remains unveatable for composing. RIP we love you Dottie. See you at the resurrection!
If Tammy had been a truck driver, she would have been a good one. Shifting two sticks grabbing gears on a steep grade, holding the wheel, pouring a cup of coffee, and probably singing to herself and doing it all with ease at the same time!! What a lady!
Tammy was humble and very sweet. She treated her fans so warmly. Listen closely to her voice in this file. She could hit each and every note so well. I love you still Tammy --- after all these years.

another great song by the first lady of country music. Damn I miss her. I met her many times and she was always the most humble person I have ever met. She never realized how big a star she was. May you rest in peace our beautiful first lady. Know you still have people down here who miss you and still keep your music alive
I love Willie's version of this, but cant find it anywhere on youtube!! It was on an old abum of his and it was a song that described my moms life. It struck me back then, and I like Tammys version too, but wish I could find Willys!
Beautiful voice. Not like the squaky singers we have now adays. Tammy is one of the few woman I can actually listen too. She was a gift from God. Tammy is the best.
I have never heard this song before but i absolutely love it! Tammy delivers a sad song like no other! I love Willie Nelson too so will have to seek out his version! Thanx!
When I heard the instrumentation in this song the first time (before I knew who wrote it) I thought to myself "this has a Willie feel to it" and I found out later that he had written it.
This rare country gem who was taken by this terrible illness, I will never forget her intoxicating voice when she sang her trademark, "Stand by Your Man".. She and Patsy Cline have been the beauty of country music respectively of their generation. I still miss Tammy Wynette.
I have listened to many a rare song by Tammy but this escaped me, it must be one she did back in the 60's, or early 70's, that is the period I loved of hers the most but I loved her voice throughout, because of that tear in it, you are right both Tammy and Patsy were the best in their time, but even though I grew up in Patsy's hometown, I love Tammy's voice the best.
I can't believe after all the rare songs I have heard of her's I never heard this one, it must have been made in the late 60's early 70's from the feel. I agree she and Patsy were the best but I like Tammy's voice better because of the tear in it, and that was hard to say because I grew up in Patsy's hometown, and she was awesome.
I like the way Willie sings this on one of his older albums. I can't find it on Utube. Does anyone know where I can find it? (This song, sung by Willie)
Simply beautiful. Much better than Willie

i just finished reading the biography by Tammy's daughter, Jackie.
You are right. Tammy deserved so much better.
I had no idea he made her suffer so much and am still quite sad about how he made sure she never escaped misery.
R.I.P. angel, Tammy.
