but Israel, especially when Sharon was Minister of Housing, built so many settlements in the WB and Gaza (in Gaza, they destroyed the settlements unilateraly).
And about Hamas, because of such an Israeli policy towards Palestine, people got disappointed and elected Hamas.
Hamas should acknowledge the existence of Israel at the end, I think, too.
Why should Israel stop building the settlements? Beccause to build the settlements in the WB is not agreed on the negotiation yet. It has to remain in status-quo, but in the reality Israel ignored it and just keep doing it on their behalf without thinking about the Palestinian situation.
Stop those things, then they can discuss. And if something is decided, then they can start it along with that decision.
The sooner the PLO (now Hamas) recognizes the state of Israel right to exist, the sooner Israel and the Palestinians can negotiate land agreements and peace. The Palestinians can live in peace, prosperity on their own sovereign internationally recognized land and the Israelis will not be able to touch it. The PLO is wasting time! But if the Palestinians will continue to attack Israel using terrorist or an army, than Israel will have every right to defend its self and all bets are off.
