  • Playing with drugs has a bad statistic

  • ...zoginated

  • turn off

    tune out

    drop dead

    watch?v=FmgKwJhodZw

  • Work harder. Destroy the planet faster. Work work work until all is ruin. John Galt is a fantasy.

  • So Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • the current reality players are so stuck in their territorial/emotional games that to suggest this means automatic ostracization from any group that is large or influential enough to make the message "normal." I view the current ontological reality as sort of a living entity and one of its defense mechanisms is to brush away these ontological alternatives as hippie speak or some other sort of pejorative that makes it distasteful to most, and therefore an unsavory meme. So they watch J Bieber.

  • reeeeeasonably applicable model =)

  • ...Our youth will be dosed at least once during their public education

  • Terence Mckenna has shown us the door but we must have the courage to pass through it. Honor the felt presence of direct experience and reflect love in everything you do.

  • This talk is Excellent, in its' totality...

  • The world needs people like terrance.

  • "....Looking at the world objectively, you are the only people alive on the earth today. All the people who created tradition... created countries... and created rules... Them fuckers are dead. Why don't you start your own world while you still got the chance.."

    -Bill Hicks

  • Attachment to computers is still relying on external phenomena for your own inner love and peace. Need to develop your mind-that's where discovery of enlightenment is-no you did not figure it out but remain lost in tech toyland.

  • @Starwheel6 Very true Starwheel, however one doesn't need to completely isolate themselves and lose all of their possessions like a hermit to gain more understanding and be happier with oneself. As long as one isn't dependent on their possessions, i see no harm in that. Although i believe thats what you were trying to say as well

  • The new reality is the comptuer... LOL LIEK OMG GUIZZZ I FIGURDD IT OUTTTT!!!11111

but seriously, the internet has coined new terms and the internet is a language within itself

  • RIP Terence McKenna!

May you spirit liv on for ever!

  • well said

  • I think I was responding to someone else who asserted that people should be forced to take drugs, not to the content of the video itself.

I do have a nitpick with what McKenna says here, in that he advocates the development of a "new language".

I don't believe that relevant structures are designed. If a "new language" or perception is necessary, it will emerge naturally, not because it's planned and promoted.

  • I don't think he meant an entirely "new language." If you go to his lecture "Open Doors pt.4" and fast-forward about five minutes and 10 seconds to where he says "Art is this endeavor... " and listen from there. You'll have a better idea of what he was trying to say here. He does talk about a language involving imagery produced by sound, a sort of synæsthetic language, which would be a new language, but that's another lecture. Listen to Open Doors if you've go tthe leisure time.

  • why would he be alone? For one he's dead and I think there will be lots others there with him. Most people who think 911 was some Arabs with box cutters are the ones who are all alone in there own fantasy, were far from alone.

    ;D

  • no hes not. he is a master of insight, and is completely genius. many agree with him.

  • wish he was still alive

  • And the new reality is upon us. Check for George Kavassilas approach to the golden age. He mention clearly that this is the event we are all going to experiment circa solstice 2012 when a new mass consciousness will manifest in the planet and from then on, is a new paradigm, exactly as Terence saw through the use of psychedelics. Kavassilas is pointing to that who we are above in the upper universes. One thing he state is important, above the 5th level there is no evil consciousness. Google it!

  • well first off, we need to legalize the drugs that help us see the other reality. Or make them mandatory :D

    SMOKE THAT! Its the law...

  • ROFL... That would make a great t-shirt...

    "SMOKE THAT! Its the law..."

    XD

  • sorry i was taking life seriously haha

  • Bill Hicks is awesome :D

  • Mm. Personally, I wouldn't like being forced to take drugs. I've lived a life of pharmaceutical abstinence, and still successfully realized the inherent relativistic nature of reality. I didn't need drugs to alter my worldview.

The other thing, is that when drugs are legalized, they are going to be heavily regulated, and that is going to change them. It's probably better for drugs to remain illegal, but de-criminalized.

  • Psychedelics should not be lumped in with narcotics as they not even in the same dimension.

People should be educated on the effects of "drugs". They should be allowed to make a conscious decision to use them after debating the consequences.

Decriminalize and educate this is the only logical and humanitarian path.

  • Should should should. Nothing should be, nothing is, you only perceive it to be.

    Should implies fascism.

  • Ok... ...Psychedelics Can not....

    ...People could be educated...

    ...They could be allowed...

I "should" not use the word "should".

isn't that what you are really saying?

What about the word Must? Is there anything wrong with using that word?

I must go to the shrink now to see why I should not be such a fascist by using the word should.

  • Assertive terms, I see a lot of people use them and I do too, but they don't appear to make sense in an amoral universe.

When you use terms like is, and should, what it says to me, is that you think these things are universally applicable, and should be forced on people by law. I don't think that was your intent, but that's how I interpreted it.

  • Thanks for your cordial and intelligent response. I will take what you said as constructive criticism and mine it for the gold that it contains.

After thinking about what you said I can see where one could get that impression as it is pretty ambiguous.

Thanks for shedding light on something I never really thought about!

My intent was to say this:

Education on the subject of psychedelics is far better than a blanket iron fist against drugs. Let people be free to choose their own path.

  • Hallucinogenic drugs seem to have some medicinal uses. As I understand it, some tribal societies use hallucinogens in their coming of age ceremonies, with the benefit that young people are more "responsible".

Hallucinogens have also been demonstrated to be useful in the treatment of addiction.

I believe that psychedelics are most fruitfully used in a clinical settings. If someone is taking them for leisure, they may miss out on the real benefits of hallucinogens.

    Peace n' chicken grease

  • lol :)

  • you shouldnt of left this message.

  • so i only percieve it to be? sounds like a dream...so instead of dreaming death and war like we have been for a few thousand years lets figure out a way to dream up an eden, see if we like that better

  • But you have to pick a tunnel of perception. Logic is the dictator of a physical world run in a totalitarian way. The tunnel is made out of premise, the interior is made of logical extensions based on the premises. All things that percieve have one. The best one can do is to recognize that one has one, and behave accordingly.

If we wish to live in a non-fascist or totalitarian society, with less conflict, we must find a common premise that we can all agree on,and build on that from scratch.

  • No we don't

  • Then you've chosen to stay in the tunnel of perception you are already in

    You've already picked it

    lol

  • No, it's the other way around. Recognizing that my model of the world is just a model gives me the intellectual space to begin to understand other peoples models.

Anyway, I was mainly objecting to your assertion that we need an consensus premise to build things on.

  • the other way around from what?

I said "behave accordingly", meaning what you just said, and not going into detail on it because it obviously follows that from seeing your world as a construct, that everyone else's are also.

The problem is how to work together. Let's take a muslim and christian. each holy book says the other is morally wrong and so there's no way they can get on, even if they recognize they both have separate models.

The only option for peace is to find common ground.

  • So we're in agreement, I must have misinterpreted your statement.

I think that peace relies on an advancing the standard of living. Availability of resources creates emotionally secure people, who raise emotionally secure children, who behave peacefully. I'm sensitive on the subject because I'm an Anarchist, and heretofore people have been eager to use violence to secure unity.

  • But how do you advance the standard of living worldwide (which you'll have to do by the way) if there aren't enough resources or the environment's gone to shit?

And even if you do find a way, that just means the environment'll deteriorate faster.

A high standard of living depends on national relations worldwide.

The nations and factions aren't going to get on unless you find

    common

    ground

one must start with education. Religion and other fascism depends on ignorance, so it can fill the gaps.

  • Industry doesn't have to be degrading to the eco-system. Look up cradle to cradle theory of design. It's revolutionary.

I am against nations, we don't need 'em, they don't exist, they just get in the way of progressive human interactions (ones not based on institutional violence).

I'm for emergent order, and my preference is for peace and plenty through scientific progress.

  • I never said industry HAS to be degrading, to the eco system, ony that it is.

The issue we're talking about is what the FIRST step should be, so everything else must be assumed to be the same as it is now in this hypothetical scenario.

There was plenty of scientific progress during the cold war, but that didn't stop US and USSR behaving irrationally and risking annihilation. If scientists were more politically aware they would not have trusted their discoveries to the state (atom bomb etc).

  • Yeah, pretty much. Have a good evening!

  • If we're to have a good future, we must indeed become anarchic. However, there're 2 options:

    1) through violence brought on by un-ignorable consequences of previously ignored suffering groups

2)by peaceful means from the ground up through education.

I recognize that there are variations of fascism all around us, the concept of leaders, schools system, state, religion, fascist language, money.

Also, nothing wrong with the word "should", because there IS a common tunnel of perception for humanity.

  • @superstatic27 but what if the other reality is nothing but an illusion? you need to consider that possibility before you spend years of your life persuing what may very well be smoke and nothing...

  • @nineteen19candles isn't that argument just as easily flipped around? I think the only objective here is to free our legal capacities to be much more suited to exploring possibilities other than what we have established through law and science.

It might be helpful to read a book like Cosmic Serpent by Jeremy Narby or to try them once or twice yourself. You may come to find that methods such as McKenna describes are ways to seeing simply 'other' aspects of this indisputably mysterious reality.

  • uhhhh no,its not the same for evryone, and it will not afffect the same"reality"that you sopeak off.and all the people that thumb you up are ignorants.so yea itll never happen.but nice try

  • @superstatic27 they can force a kid to get chemo, why not?

  • @superstatic27

A quote of Bill Hicks in a video of McKenna... nice one, mate! :D

  • we need a reality that will both make us all realize that no matter how insignificant we feel, we're still a part of the big picture. something that hollywood, mtv, abc, and cnn has done away with. it feels to the majority of us that you're not as important unless you're rich, on television, or have some type of power. Once we all see that the ocean wasn't an ocean without all the rain, then we can sea just how expansive, how intricate the human psyche is within the concious /unconsious network

  • Avoid wasting your energy comparing yourself to nobody. Your point is valid, I have told the same for too long and have not reach enough to make changes. The good side is that whoever knows you will realize you are different, and that is what Terence pointed so strongly out of his experience. We really missed his work to advance. But we are seekers and seers of the new age of consciousness, we are pioneers on first wave of the golden age of consciousness. One tip, we will not need any substance

  • drug addict? psychedelics aren't addicting...

By the way, you come off immature, resentful and even possibly jealous when you throw a bunch of swears/insults into your opinion... no way does it sound like you "far surpassed his skills" when you can't even stay civil and respectful

  • Honestly.. a lot of us HAVE surpassed his skills.. but he was fully aware of the phenomenom, lol. So bitching is a clear indicator of self-negation. We are adapting to a MUCH more complex system. Change is increasing exponentially. We are adapted to a higher rate of change, a higher vibration. Just like he was as compared to his predecessors. The real goal is to learn to enjoy the wave. Smile on the ride. The clearing away of anything that dams you up.

  • Aware or Unaware? Consious or Unconcious? who really is destroying the youth of the worlds minds? is it the mind expansion of mcKennas psycadelics or the mind contraction of the current world view? hmmmm, I wonder.

PS I seriously doubt you have far surpassed the skills of McKenna as born out by your little rant here. I wish you well on your journey though

  • you dumbasses hes a troll

  • 'the language of the self must be made, primary.'

  • Amazing!

  • what a wondeful channel, thank you

  • practice makes perfect. read more books. lots of books. books are great ways to practice proper english because it's a long string of [generally] always good english. [or is it well english? haha, english joke]

and you end up being drawn into the story itself, which pulls you through the language in the story. eventually it all just unravels and speaking/writing the language properly really easy.

  • awesome!

    thanks :)

  • A course in micracles echoes his statements on a deeper spiritual level

  • For more on language and reality look up Robert Anton Wilson in "Who Makes the Grass Green" and research the New World Order and Federal Reserve for all sakes!

  • yeah, if you could only heavily dose all the leaders in the world at the same in the same place with psilocibe cubensis

  • the gathering at the bohemian grove is coming up soon in california. there's a town, you can look up the name, that provides the catering and general upkeep typically. reckon an organized group of individuals could hypothetically make all our dreams come true. but honestly, i reckon a fair amount of those cokeheads have dropped a hit of acid or three. doesn't always break people from greed and hate. not when they're swimming in it their whole lives.

  • what a great man. I really despise how people will look at him and call him crazy or a drug addict, that gets me so mad. He isn't ingesting Natural plant or fungus material to get high but to find himself and what he is made of and how he got here. Big fucking difference. RIP Terrence Mckenna. 2012 awaits...

  • broken horse took him home. infinitley inteligent rule....RULES! (whew). more!!!!

  • i am so happy to find mckenna here... bog bless you tube

  • A brain tumor. I love him but he broke the horse with an organicity.

  • true enough, though this emphasises the self, and not the social interplay between us... certainly, we need more accurace regarding our own individual reality-world-construct and the shared world around us...

  • love mckenna
