  • the good face of the MUSIC !

  • though i adore massive attack, but this is a rip-off. listen to stratus by billy cobham, listen to the bass rhithym. and that guitar solo at 1:59. that must be intentional... it's too similar...

  • vevo makes my video buffer slow

  • check out the original version of this tune from 1974.billy cobham and stratus its this song minus the lyrics u wont be disappointed

  • WOW! THat woman has catchy voice... this version is better than the one in my mp3

  • @DaveBritish This is a slightly different mix to what's on the album. I love both versions but I prefer this one!

  • Who cares if this piece of modern art has 1 like or a thousand? You know what it is just as i do. End of story. People are too hung up on the new digital, facebook, twitter bullshit. I dont care if this tune has no likes and 15000 dislikes. I'll still come back to it every few months.

  • The whole fucking idea of a fucking Ralph Lauren advert before this tune is fucking disgusting.

    fuck you youtube. or vevo.

    same thing

  • hey ! that sampled beat is from billy cobham! let's give credit to him too.

  • Just a beautiful track and a beautiful video - you can't really get the full message of one without the other. This is what music videos SHOULD be - telling a story, sending a message, conveying an emotion, that enhances the song - and not just fluffy visual background to some catchy bullshit chorus. Massive Attack are true artists who offer important social commentary on politics, poverty and urban life in strikingly beautiful, poignant, yet subtle form.

  • This is a great sample by Billy Cobham's "Stratus" from his masterpiece "Spectrum" (1973). I love this song and the drumming of Cobham.

Massive Attack - Safe From Harm

  • 0:42 NO WAY! That's Grant Marshall!

  • Sounds as though there are extra backing vocals on this and other little bits added.

  • @endymion67 yeh, the single mix is different to the album mix. album mix is better IMO. best one though is how they've been playing it live on the Heligoland tour. seen it twice, and it's so epic :D

  • MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE! :-)

DOWNLOAD THIS AP SPREAD THE WORD ...THEN THUMBS UP!!!

  • @hispeedirt

oh and second, dont SPAM some STUPID PROGRAM to block ads, when if you knew SHIT about computers, you can get a ad block list and just PUT THEM IN YOUR HOST FILE

EDIT A FILE AND IT BLOCKS ALL ADS, thats how i dont even SEE ads

so stop spamming garbage and learn something about blocking ads with your host files...

  • Billy Cobham - drums - yeah maaaan! x

  • I love her vocals. Wonderfully surreal song and the video doesn't take too much away from the songs feeling. The mixes are even better though.

  • great song,,,

  • Does the bass sample come from

Idris Muhammad - 1974 - Power Of Soul

    oYXJKYZe3U4

  • @MisterRbeez Naaaa!

The sample come from: Billy Cobham - Stratus

    Just search this song.

  • @mrbungle84 Thanks !

  • i was looking back to see if you were losdasdaskljdasjdkasjdlashghfghfghjat you!!! wuahhhhhh!

  • bass power right there

  • STRATUS...

  • amazing bass in this song

  • Does anybody know what album as THIS version of "Safe from Harm???"

  • @dubguru Blue Lines :)

  • Awesome Stuff. I like this kind of intense music, that's why I don't like that much of that happy / indie new stuff everybody seems to enjoy right now. I've been listening to a good new band called Mob of God, it's nothing like this, but it's intense as well so I remembered.

  • FUCK VEVO!!!

  • The little kid dressed like Freddie Kreuger always disturbed me for some reason.

  • massive attack are genius

  • I really love the music video, I don't know why

  • Classic!

  • Camera movements on the stairs are really nice

  • SAFE by Rumble is the song that Massive attack sampled

  • Does anybody know any songs similar to this one? Thanks!

  • Soundtrack of my teens...they just get better with age. Here's to another 20 years.

  • could've swore that was the guy from faithless doing bits in this...

  • chooooonnnn!!!! Av it

  • Great song,Amazing vocals and music that travels you...

  • Does anybody know which album this version of the song appeared on?

  • @dubguru I think this is just the video version of the song. I have Blue Lines and it's not on there. It might be on one of their compilation or remix albums, but I tend not to get compilations or remix albums, lol.

  • @dubguru its the video version i guess, i have the greatest hits one and the video is on there but the original version, i guess this is the youtube version

  • I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you <3

  • Don´t forget the the important Billy Cobham drum & bass sample.

  • 0:45 Scary seeing a young 3D. Tempus fugit!

  • The best version yet I have found of this song.

  • @BaDumTiiiiish i dont know excacly...sorry..tell me when i'll learn about it :)

  • @25massive you will******** (sorry)

  • @BaDumTiiiiish in england..

  • This song is about Love, if you would only feel that.

I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you.

  • @olyansincs i love those lyrics<3

  • this what you call a fucking song

  • where's the mad bass riff gone in this??

  • slightly different to the original (1991)

  • One of my all time favorite bass grooves.

  • Hey, Fred.....

  • Its just really, really good.

    I miss the 90's.

  • Massive Attack are more than musicians, they are artists in the true sense of the word, this track is beauty personified.

  • @marchpig implication: musicians are not artists in and of themselves. You, my good sir, are ridiculous.

  • I still love it... but there appears to be a lot of differences from the album version. The inclusion of some B Major chords through the chorus are kind of out there, and some overdubs on her vocals. The major chords were a neat addition.

  • absolute art at its best

  • All too true, I was looking back at you to see if you were looking back at me!

  • this sucks

  • @jonyfeelgood

    then go listen Nickleback

  • @luthierjustin1 Nickleback? ROFL GOOD ONE

  • theres something madly 90's about this, but im loving it

  • @P3RSIANs That's because it's from the 90s, maybe.

  • ads on youtube? what the fuck?

  • i love this song

  • i like this !

  • inspiring love it so much, keep spreading the love M A

  • I knew that almost 20 years down the track I would be listening to this jewel again.

  • When I first saw this video to the side of the browser I thought it was called "Safe from Ham".

    HAM HAM HAM.

  • Brilliant & frightening.

  • This song is a perfect example of what, at heart, Massive Attack truly does: create works of devastating beauty.

  • I was looking back to see if you looking back at see me to looking back at you. I'm, sorry, but that is absolutely class.

  • @Mimiru667 That is a line from a John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers' song. Just can't remember which one.

  • @vedran1978 I'll have a look :) still a cool line, though.

  • i think this maybe is my favorite on...... I have seen them countless times in memorable places.... And this tune always says what Massive Attack are to me

Hypnotic, Soulful, Electronic, LIVENESS, sensitivity, beauty, grime, grit, dirt, paranoid, deep and more.. Nelly Hooper, Tricky, Horace Andy, Shara Nelson and more were indeed a wild bunch.

You all know cos it does it for us

    peace out

    SAFE FROM HARM

  • They basically just added vocals to Billy Cobham's song "Stratus" and some keyboarding.

  • long time no see Shara Nelson too !

  • been a while since i turned this UP 8)

  • YES, THAT ENDINGS PRETTY TWISTED..
