  • im just having trouble playin the chords...like ill put my fingers in the right spots n everything...then when i go to play it...it comes out like weird...idk how to describe it really...ive tryed not pressnig down the strings as hard...but it hasnt worked...then i tried pressing down the strings more and that didnt work...i just need a little help learning how to play...

  • it may be because your fingers are slightly touching the string above or below the one your supposed to be playing..

try putting each finger right on the tip, have your thumb flat on the back of the neck and curl your fingers round so that they're not touching any strings that they're not supposed to be.

    i'm a beginner myself...

    hopefully that'll work x

  • thats common, that happend to me, eventually you will develope calouses, and that will help, you just have to press down hard, and consistanly.

  • can you name some songs that use this to give me a start

  • An obvious one would me Time of Your Life by Green Day. I actually learned how to strum that as my first song from these guys.

  • No one said that he is. Dunno about you, but I don't have time to practise 10 hours a day, and I am not planning to become the greatest guitarist ever... And no one asks you to brag...

  • you guys are the best at teaching but you should make a video on electric guitar

  • yeah

  • Ill try this tongith at home, as i watch the video again. Thanks from a noob.

  • Awesome, incredible lessons, THANKYOU and I can't wait for more!

  • How F-ing awesome are these guys

  • the correct way to strum is from the wrist, not the elbow,it makes things so much easier and better for when you move to lead playing

  • Good job at pointing that out, im not a noob at guitar, but when i was that was a mistake i made.

  • These guys are awesome, freely teaching lessons online to spread the love of music. I'll check out their website to learn more. Thanks for the upload!

  • Hey cool. I have been thinking about taking guitar lessons... these little vids are just right to get a whiff of what is done.. Helps very much in my decision making. I want to learn the pedal steel, but I think the guitar is a good start. I've been told pedal steel is about the hardest instrument to learn... just my luck!

Great vids. I'm glad Tim talks.. I can't learn telekinesis...

  • kick ass man

  • i found this very helpful! i am trying to learn guitar!

  • beats guitar hero

  • any sort of real guitar beats guitar hero

  • watch "uhuh (Amateur Filmz)"

  • Why do you care?

  • What if he talks a lot? The only reason he talks a lot is to teach us! Don't be impatient viewers. If you think he talks a lot then deal with it iight? Awesome vids. These do really help!

  • i have same guitarrrrrr

  • You are a great teacher

  • I'm not a newb so I already know and apply this, but you are a very good teacher. Especially if you've only been playing for a little over a year. I would have loved to have had this when I started 13 years ago. I am self taught so you could imagine how frustrating my first few years were. Keep up the good work.

  • Hey! Thanks a million for the strumming techniques and the cord progression. I've tweaked around with my guitar for years, never realizing this should be part of any guitarists repertoire.

    Ignore your imbecile detractors.

  • So dont watch jackass

  • If you don't like it then don't bother commenting.

  • He really should use more of his wrist instead of his elbow.

  • strumming should be more elbow than wrist... picking is more wrist than elbow...

  • you should change the beat at the end of the progression. later in the lesson to inspire people. It would show them variations of the a simple stum chanage in the progression. I would be more excited to learn it. Have fun with it alittle.

  • awesome vids. these do really help!

  • are you two trying to teach good riddance again, but not naming the song because your vids will be deleted ? ;p this is part before the chorus, the other vid of tim is the verse.

  • that is in the verse of good riddance of green day

  • Lol. One chord progression and of the first I did was the chorus of "Juke Box Hero" E, G, D, E. Very simple and it helped me change chords. :)

  • great lesson, thanks

  • Good stuff

  • Thanks I now feel all I must do is as you say

    play a little each day.

    Oldun.

  • thank you so much for the work you are doing!
