  • This is very similar to how i became a teacher... I do not regret it one bit. You have your downs and stressful days but it can take 1 small comment or a smile from a student to make your day.... Well done for realising your passion.

  • I am about to be a freshman in high school! I want to be an English Teacher for high school!lol I want to get a Master's :)

  • Congrats!I'm glad you followed your goals in becoming a teacher. I like this video!

  • with all that knowledge i think you'd enjoy being a professor

  • outstanding journey good show...were you ever troubled over the mom negging your dream and then you having to return to it later? sincere question..... and also love the vid, music...you can find some....:)

  • school sucks watch my vid coming

  • Wow, I thought I was the only one! My initial career choice was to become a teacher and after many different major declarations, I'm back to square one! :D Thanks for posting this.

  • Teachers' work day is more like 6 am to 11:30 pm, sometimes more depending on the day and if they also coach sports.

All those benefits don't compare to the amount of stress they have on the job and dealing with a ferrocious and disrespectful society.

  • Let's face it. Americans are tired of having these overpaid Teachers complain and complain. In a time of recession and uncertain job stability for the average American. The teachers sit unaffected, in fact receiving raises. Raises for having one of the worst records on test's and education in the world yet it's the most funded in the world.

Teachers are no longer respected in our society and rightfully so.

  • Try again...Most teachers attend trainings or work on grading and planning on those breaks you refer to. In addition, the pay and benefits are closer to the poverty line than you would think. Do your research. Pay raises are typically only 2% a year, and some states have suspended these due to recent economic hardships. Lastly, the retirement in most states is over 25 years, usually in the 27-30 range. Add to those FACTS, the reality of the job with the REAL responsibilities...KEEP IT REAL!

  • I love how it's always "most teachers" and "typically". The truth of the matter is what are the actual required work hours? 7:00a.m-3:30 p.m. And I did do the research! Poverty line=2008 HHS Poverty Guidelines
