This is the Barbary Lion, they used to live in the Atlas Mountains in North Africa

(Morocco, Algeria & Tunisia) but now there are just 100 distributed in the zoo's all over the planet.

Actually, adult lions without manes don't look like adult lionesses. Adult lions have longer faces than adult lionesses. It's quite easy to tell.

thats the brother of a lion named cliff they both live at the franklin park zoo and cliff died of a liver failure about 2 years ago this lion did this all day after cliff died :(
