  • i really really need an answer to my questions plz as soon as possible

is it safe to apply surma (kohl) that is about 20 years old?????

a very kind and loving old lady made it at home as a present for my mum when my older brother was born. she even washed it with aab-e-zam zam.

i just found it in an airtight container at home but my mum and i are doubtful whether i should apply such an old surma

but it is 100% pure and i don't wanna waste it.

please please please give authentic answer

  • @brishkhan Kohl made in Saudi Arabia are usually 100% lead sulphide mineral , so I would use it no matter how old it is. But kohl made in North Africa are usually mixed with herbs which means the herbs might rot over years. So you might want to ask what are the ingredients in those kohl.

  • @ghanmy but she's been dead for a long time...thanx though.... i''l ask my granny. she was friends with her. may Allah bless you and i hope you keep on educating us with your knowledge. thanx again.

  • @brishkhan You are welcome.Homemade kohl are very difficult and time consuming to make. So I understand how you don't want to just throw it away. May Allah bless you too.

  • @ghanmy i asked my grandmother and she says that the lady brought the stone specially from Saudi Arabia and then she made it at home. she doesn't think that any herbs were used...i'm definitely going to use it now that i know that it's okay to use to surma(kohl) that is very old...thank you very much for your great advice...

  • Where can you buy the Kohl with ithmid in it?

  • @afgmuslim1234 I put a link to my blog in the description box above. If you click on it you will find how to make it at home and I also sell it if you can't find the stone

  • @ghanmy

are you from malaysia ? what brand you selling. i came across of a blog which recommended these 3 brands guerlain, al ithmid and rani. claimed to be safe.

  • @citacitasejati I am trying to help the ladies in Algeria to earn some money by selling their homemade kohl. It is different than the Mecca one in a way that they put roasted olive seed. Thus the colour is darker than the Mecca's 100% kohl ithmid

  • @ghanmy

if you are in malaysia how can i buy the kohl ?

    jazakAllahukhair

  • @citacitasejati I am living in Sweden. You can buy the kohl by clicking the link above to my blog. I can only accept Paypal.

  • @ghanmy

    oh.. okay. thanks

  • Thank you for this =). I luv it. Complete info =)

  • @girlvespa You are welcome. Please be informed though, that Arab kohl uses more galena (or ithmid) than Pakistani/Indian kohl.
