Yeah pennies suck. We had the same problem in Australia with 1 and 2 cent coins so we got rid of them in the 80s. Now its 5 cents and upwards.

Sadly, The Bank of Canada gets to decide on this. As they are a 3rd Party Corporation not controlled by the goverment.

Most the goverment can do is stop lending the pennies from them.

- Currency is contolled by the Central Banks in the USA and Canada and is LENT to the goverment to use at intrest.

The first penny 4 the whole of canada was in 1858 with queen victoria it is large atleast twice as big and now its pretty neat if u look from teh differnce in the birth of the penny and sadly almost the end. Pennies are annoying. What's more annoying is different money between all the lands.

My idea: make a universal credit system for any sum of money over $100 "usd". Your job gives you credit in you account, secured by a card, and a password. Make one monetery unit, and that works in any country. small amounts of cash used, and the prices rounded to the nearest 5 cents. coins are 5 cents, 10 cents 25 cents and 50 cents. Notes: 1,5,10,25,and 50 "dollars" or whatever the monetery unit's name is.
