This really worked i had spent 2 days lookin to jailbreak my 1g ipod, and this did the trick. Now my only question is, is this untethered? please reply. and for those that cant access blackrain because of the dll file, open you C: drive open program files, then common files. then go to Apple and in Apple theres a folder called Apple Application Support. Copy and paste blackrain ther and it works :D

For people with the 'Your '(iPods Name) could not be restore because the Firmware is not compatible' you HAVE to download Itunes 9. Nothing else works, not 10 or 8.2. That was my problem, and thats how I fixed it. Then just follow his steps, and make sure your iPod is plugged in! :D

Alright... I just did all of this.

I upgraded, downloaded, and started it. It rain fine... but the guys picture never came up on my iPod. It is stuck with the screen lit up. Blackra1n says "Done, wait for reboot"... but it's been like this for about 10 min.

Any idea on what I should do?

@Opsproclan605 yeah I had a 16GB 2.2.1 and same thing happened. I panicked but I found a way out if things go wrong. Don't unplug it and just close blackra1n. restore it again with apple and try again
