This is a very poor design. Did the designer ever think about service and maintenace? Do they know that most engine part need servicing more often because of engine heat? Do they want the customer to always spend money on fixing a vehicle? If a owner would try to fix this thing, it would be pure hell in it's belly to try to replace parts that break down a lot due to engine heat and vibration. This is a waste of time and innovation. How long did it take to pay the inventor for this waste? No good

Do you know which Co-op engine it was? To date in the US the only engines that Yamaha has really worked with Ford on are for the SHO Taurus. Working at a Mazda Dealearship for 5 years, and attending training classes, you are told the origins of an engine. And as far as I know, everything released to the north american market by Mazda, before Mazda became Fords Japanese ace-in-the-hole engine designer, was designed by Mazda. I have heard that the Toyota Celica GTS engine was by Yamaha.

certainly not a pinto mate. pintos have a rubber timing belt and different shaped rocker cover for starters. as it sez at the beggining its an hcs engine

dont know,this certainly isnt an english video so i dont expect the engine to be in any of our cars, but the hcs in england is found in the ford ka and fiesta range,its based on the valencia/kent engine with single point injection and an electronic coil pack where the dizzy used to sit,but these were overhead valve engines not ohc so this engine puzzles me,maybe its mazda based?

i just googled this engine and didnt really help matters! the hcs stands for high compression swirl. the hcs in the UK was used in escorts and fiestas but the ka used an endura-E engine which is identical to the hcs except for having an alloy sump and different inlet and exhaust manifolds. so basically an endura-E is an hcs! cant find any info on th hcs I4 ohc engine tho!
