  • I think the puking was to simulate Aj's childishness. Like how a little kid throws a tantrum and sometimes tries to throw up for attention. Just shows the immaturity of Aj's character.

  • I wonder if anybody else thought about this. Aj in a way is a younger version of Little Carmine. Not as intelligent or as strong as their fathers, but forced to live in their shadows even when they don't want to. It's something that children of people who do profound things or are well known have to struggle with, no matter what the actual content of what their parents do. Imagine being Michael Jordan's kid, or Ghandi's kid. They'd have the same issue.

  • Ew why was he dry heaving???

  • yeah, seems like the kid never intended to go thru with it. just a cry for attention.

  • LMAO thats not my knife

  • Seriously, AJ in sixth season is a very interesting character. Another proof of The sopranos being the best show ever is that even in first season you can see his depresive thoughs, it's a very well formed character with a terrible ending

  • lol the puking was so random lolll.

  • I honestly would've liked to see AJ punched by Tony, see what happens!

  • people hate AJ because he is the spawn of the boss, a fucking savage manly boss. if he were Artie Bucco's son he would have been the loveable loser. but he wasn't, and that's why hes a terribly annoying turd of an actor/character.

  • @ShitWrangler

Sure is a good thing your opinion doesn't mean anything.

  • Why did Tony "Mob Boss" Soprano's son have to be a queer. Couldn't he have been a cool, delinquent bully or something?

  • I don't know why people hate AJ I find him to be ok sure he's an annoying kid but at least you see him devople into an interesting character.

  • 2 people dropped the knife

  • hahaha..what a fuck up that kid is...drops the fuckin knife

  • What was with the fake puking? Dry heaving I guess....

  • @evilgoodness231 aj deserves an oscar for the puking

  • Though he doesn't know it himself, he(AJ) never intended to go through with stabbing Junior. It was another typical AJ cry for help and acknowledgement.

Subconciously in his depressed and weakness riddled mind, he knew that he would fuck up and get bailed out by his father, which has been the case since he was born.

That is my interpretation of the scene.

  • so AJ ends up with Tony's psychological problems and depression but without the mobster lifestyle to give him a sense of purpose and an outlet for his emotions. I think in the end, he's just confused and lost without much of a father to guide him (tony tries his best but can't involve him in the largest part of his life) and so AJ ends up as this whiny neurotic character that never grew up.

the reason why this show is so great is because of interesting characters like AJ

  • @ProducShuns perfect analysis. completely agree.

  • i will admit that in the show AJ's annoying, but he's meant to be annoying it's the way his character was created. he's meant to contrast tony. tony never wanted the mobster life for him, so AJ never got to know about his father's life in the same way that tony got to know about his father's life when he was a child. because of that AJ ends up lost in life and missing a sense of purpose. what do you do when your dad's the head of a crime family that you know nothing about?

  • @ProducShuns Excellent point. While lots of people who watch the show and though AJ was an asshole (which he is at times), I always found him to be a funny character, and I've always kinda felt sorry for him. I know that's sounds stupid, but I can relate to his losing a sense of direction in life. The interaction between Tony and AJ kinda reminds me of my Dad and me, without the pushing and shoving.

  • yeah alot of aj haters that actor did his thing and made everyone hate the fuck out of him hahaha i agree with the top comments

  • god, that was so funny and stupid

  • AJ isnt a terrible actor, actually he is pretty good especially in this scene. If you dont like the character than its a whole different story.

  • The reason I hate AJ is as a kid who was raised in a dirt poor family but still managed to graduate from college I cannot STAND little shits like him who get everything in life handed to them and are still totally worthless and good for nothing.

  • "It's not my knife"

  • That's one of the things that I wish we could have seen, how AJ would have continued to develop. Due to the people the he hung out with he probably would have ended up in organized crime in some way. Hard to say what would have happened though.

  • @charliefrye098 i hate the idea of a sequel or continuation to the Sopranos (it ended well), but since it's probably inevitable, it would be cool to see how the kids turned out, say 20 years later, as long as it's the same actors. I could imagine A.J. being in the "new" New Jersey mob, working for Jason Parisi or something, and Meadow as a Senator or something. I'm sure there's a good story in there somewhere.

  • doesnt that guard that walked in with aj look like george carlin in his younger days?

  • 3:50 his hands almost big as AJ's face

  • love how the street instincts still come out in junior

    "thats not my knife!"

  • Thats not my knife ROFL

  • OK, thank you "Highest Rated Comments" above for your enlightened distinction drawing between AJ and Robert Iler. I'm guessing most of the people below get the difference two (and just think it's too obvious to point out).

What would be nice to point out is that AJ's character is a bit of a weak spot on one of the greatest shows EVER. In 6 seasons, he rarely if ever did a redeeming thing. That transcends all of the mafia characters on the show...he was borderline impossible to like.

  • @jetelegen He wasn't a mafia character. He was the son of a mob boss. He acted like any kid in his position would act, spoiled as fuck. Do you remember how Meadow acted the first two seasons? She was the same way, then she grew out of it. By the end of the show, you started to see AJ grow out of it as well. Spoiled rich kids in their teens act the way these two acted.

  • @Antrizzle2009 Like I said...his behavior TRANSCENDED all the mafia characters (all of whom did something redeemable at some point). That's what makes it interesting...he's just a regular guy who you can't HELP but dislike.

And I don't agree on your other points either. Meadow was a typical whiny teenage girl in the early seasons, but she always had more empathy for the other people around her. And AJ really didn't grow out of anything. He bitched his ass off even in the last episode.

  • @jetelegen What about his relationship with Blanca? I thought we saw a whole different side to AJ during that point of the series. I guess my overall point was if you dislike the character, you were supposed to dislike. That's the point of writing the character the way they did. It would be unrealistic to expect him to be this cool heroic character with all these redeeming qualities.

  • @Antrizzle2009 All right, I'll give you that there's a bit to like about his behavior toward her. Then again, he did give away that nice new bike in order to win her over. Even in that situation he was selfish.

Moreover, his inability to get over her was pretty damn over the top.

  • @jetelegen Well to be fair, she was waaaaaay out of his league. I've done stupid shit to try and impress girls, especially at that age so I can't knock him too much for the bike thing. His inability to get over was just the icing on the cake of his clinical depression, some of which was hereditary from his father. That was just a situation that brought it to the forefront. I'd imagine he would have become depressed eventually anyway.

  • whats up jarrod allen

  • When AJ is puking Tony's like "Jesus Christ he wouldn't survive 2 minutes in my line of work" Tony never wanted that life for his kids.

  • lol why did aj start puking?

  • Fucking great Series. Sopranos, Band of Brothers, Adams. Nothing tops HBO.

  • People moaning about AJ being terrible actor/character need to realise that if he is getting that much of a reaction from you he is obviously doing something right.

  • @GarGPS Right... Kim Jong Il uses that same "everybody's talking about me so I must be doing something right" bullshit, and it's bullshit here too.

The actor is a bratty little shit and so is the character. To quote the epic 'Cinderella', "If the shoe fits."

  • @Tokopol

Yea but the character is meant to be a bratty little shit. And the actor is doing a good job in portraying it no?

  • @Kazuyasan9999 I know. That's my whole point. A brattly little shit like Anthony Iler played a perfect AJ for the same reason that a lunatic like Robert Blake played a perfect Jimmy Hoffa. If the shoe fits -- or, art imitating life.

  • The point of AJ's character was to bring a sense of realism to the show. Just because you've got a bigshot dad doesn't mean you're gonna turn out to be the same like in the movies, in real life bigshots' children usually end up living in the shadows of their parent's success. Yes AJ wasn't much to look at, doesn't excel at anything and has no desire, ambition or self-worth, but he was still Tony's "son" and as fucked up as Tony was, he's the type of guy who'll stand by his family no matter what.

  • @Swordsman808 THANK YOU. Finally someone with some sense. All these idiots on here expect AJ to be the air apparent of a fucking crime family for goodness sakes.

  • "And what did you do, nothing, zero, a big fucking jerkoff"

Perfect words to describe AJ's whole existence. Have you ever seen a more worthless kid? He's good for nothing: a terrible student, a lazy no good laborer, and couldn't even be in the family biz of the mafioso as evidenced by this horrifically failed wack attempt. He's not even a man.

  • That's not my knife!

  • they should have let him kill coraddo.

  • "And what did you do? Nothing.. Zero... A big fuckin jerkoff" You tell 'em.

  • @MrMikeyboy1002 it was bad case of fucking "cowboyitis", ive seen it before.

  • he aint that bad ffs, he is a damn good actor, none of you could do a fucking better job. the character isnt shit either, it makes the storyline a lot better, sure hes a little bitch towards the end of the series but get the fuck over it!

  • Comment removed

  • ffs people, guess what ur son can be compleltly different to u

  • i bet AJ got high before shooting this scene

  • Hes a spoiled, EMO kid.

  • lol I have a knife exactly like that one... The end screws off, there's water-proof matches inside of it, and also an emergency sewing kit. There's also a compass inside of the end-cap.

  • AJ is a terrible character and a terrible actor.

  • @Imontheinternet111

You fucking kidding me? He's a great actor, and his character added a lot to the show.

  • aj really is a good actor

  • someone told me that if an actor/actress, played a character that you didn't like (got on your nerves) it meant that they we're playing the part well, and were good actors/actresses. i hated AJ in the sopranos, it just shows that he played the part well.

  • I love how this show made you feel sorry for bad characters... I felt kinda sad when Junior perked up at the unexpected visitor who was there to kill him. I think AJ felt the same way, and thats why he dropped the knife. In his heart of hearts, he just couldn't do it. This show was awesome; nothing like it before or since.

  • amazing acting from everyone major in that scene

  • Tony's the best father. Ever..

  • HOW WOULD U PPL FEEL IF URE UNCLE SHOTYOUR OWN DAD.

  • AJ is the most realistic teen ever portrayed on tv or film.

  • "you sit there with your FUCKIN bowl of ice cream" hahaahaha Rofl just epic

  • @wikidassklown15 I laughed so hard when he said that

  • "That's not my knife."

  • I agree that AJ's crying got to be a bit much. Every time he would cry it seemed very forced and faked and was difficult to watch. As far as playing a sniveling worm though, he did do a good job at that.

  • why does aj fail at everything.

  • Wow. Excellent scene. AJ's actor really is a good actor.

  • "That's not my knife!"

    LOL

  • @taxmonkey123

Ha yeah I looked up this scene specifically to hear this line

  • KNIFE!!

    ...thats not my knife

  • tony shoulda put one thru the back of aj's head when he started dry wretching....

    fucking pussy....

  • aj is nothing but a whiny little bitch, tony should have had the little prick whacked years ago, would've been better for the family

  • im surprised tony was able to keep himself from having aj whacked throughout the series....

aj was a disgrace in every way

  • @poops1 dude, aj was his son, regardless of how much of a bitch you guys think he was, he was still anthnoy's son.

  • @Rodnigga

fathers have killed children before in the mafia, siblings have killed siblings.... business is business...

you do remember that tony's mom tried to off him before, right?

and aj being the pathetic pussy he is, he deserved to get whacked lol

  • @poops1 yeaaahhh cuz TOny whacking AJ is business?

  • @dwayneo18 It has happened before, it will happen again.

  • something tells me the actor that plays aj has also got to be a fucking pussy in real life too, no one can act that well lol

  • He continuously complains how he's stuck in his life and it's even seen through his panic attacks. Kind of ironic how Tony isn't able to see the parallels. If anything, that part of the movie should be the saddest to him.

  • Why would Tony's favourite part of the godfather be Michael Corleone killing those two guys in the restaurant? That marked the turning point of his life from honest, honourable civilian into ruthless mob boss of the underworld. It's what dragged him in, despite his earlier protests; destiny had it in for him. It was a sad fate. Kind of like what Tony says about his life and how he had no choice in the line of business he got into.

  • @mugatu5000 It's probably Chase hinting at Tony causing his own downfall (season six, leading to his death in the finale).

  • @oloompop YAWN. Another idiot who sees something that didn't happen.

  • @BruiserKnux YAWN. Another idiot who probably thinks Tony is alive.

  • @oloompop Wrong, dipshit. Tony did not get shot in the final episode, so he is not dead. On the other hand, he is not alive either. Want to know why? BECAUSE HE'S FICTIONAL, YOU FUCKING WANK. He ceased to exist once the scene went to black. If James Gandolfini tomorrow decided that he wanted to do a Sopranos movie, you can bet that it would happen.

  • @BruiserKnux Thanks. Glad dumb people like me have smart people like you to point out complex things, like that Tony is a fictional character and isn't alive in the real world.

  • AJ looks like the lead singer from My Chemical Romance.

  • damn aj has always been a pathetic pussy

  • what a jerk-off

  • Its not my knife lol

  • "first of all, your mother does not find out about this", haha, this could so be me and my dad :)

  • LMAO...... Thats not my knife. Great acting on all 3 actors parts.

  • its funny how everyone critizes a.j. he's supposed to be a spoiled child, as most teenage kids are. he was always acting out b/c his parents didn't really discipline him that well & never really payed that much attention. always praising meadow though. like alot of parents do in real life. parents make lots of mistakes w/ their kids but that's the way the world is. robert who plays a.j. is a really good actor he has everyone hating his characther. :D

  • Stop the shit talking on AJ.

    1) He's a character in a TV show and you're acting like he's a real person.

    2) Try being a spoiled brat whose father is a Mob boss and see how you act.

    3) He's depressed and has panic attacks just like his father. He didn't ask for that.

  • @superbad1500 tony's father was in the mob too he didnt turn out to be a pudgy suicidal pussy though did he

  • Good point. But Tony treated AJ way different and better than his dad treated him, mostly because of Carmela. Otherwise, AJ probably would have been a hardass.

  • @superbad1500 Fuck AJ! Fuck the actor who plays AJ! And most importantly fuck you for pointing out that The Sopranos is not real.

  • @amerikano but it isnt real...

  • @exkill999 WHAT!!!! How dare you!!!

    Fnord! Fnord! Fnord! Fnord!

  • @amerikano k

  • i <3 aj :)

  • 2:35-2:37 LMAO!!!!

  • @rockingdude89 LMAO!

  • my own father was a tough guy...and had a crew of guys who did things, but like aj, i am not the same , not as tough..not tough at all, i am not cut out for the life, i find aj's character very realistic

  • bullshit

  • fuck you we dont care

  • @MrGoofyr Pussy

  • @MrGoofyr bullshit

  • @MrGoofyr fucking lying faggot

  • @MrGoofyr ur fathers got a crew of homosexuals that he makes man love to ahahahahahahhaa

  • So many people on YouTube are scornful of AJ. I don't really understand why. He does play a suck, but he's by no means a weak actor. He plays the part very well.

  • Right!!! AJ is spose to be a pussy...

  • @vartsniffer he only plays it so well, because hes a little puke in real life, ahah, he got busted mugging people on the streets, he didnt even need to mug anyone haha, friggin idiot probably made close to a mil. each show.

  • @dyehardx

you think he made close to a each show???

hey, i gotta bridge i'd let to sell you in brookly, are you interested? and i got some oceanfront property in utah i'm willing to sell for dirt cheap too.. you seem like the perfect buyer....

  • @vartsniffer thats very true, his character is fkn annoying and most people cant separate the character from the real person lol

  • @vartsniffer oh yeah? not a weak actor huh... yeah he really is. especially (though he was younger, sure) the earlier seasons.. he was just AWFUL, in a few cases you could tell that carmella for example had to give him what i would describe as like a lay-up, because he is such a weak actor. he sucks, his character sucks, wish they would have written him as a stronger role.. the one thing about the show that really bothered me..

  • @vartsniffer

I disagree... I thought he was a really shitty actor as the series progressed. He always overacted and did things way over the top. Every time he fake cried, I cringed.

  • @IrishDroog wow thats a really poor judgement of an actor. He did one of the best jobs on the show behind Tony and Chris

  • @vartsniffer

I agree.. AJ may have been a whiny little prick as a character, but the guy is a decent actor. People say he wasn't good but apperantly he was good enough to convince people to dislike him... I can't honestly say there were ANY bad actors throughout the sopranos, much less from the main cast. Saying that is like a slap in the face to David Chase.

  • @krime1988 the only person i gotta say was a bad actor was paulies mom..."madon they dont eat snails do they?" lol...its ok, she was still fun to watch

  • @vartsniffer Well said, he plays a huge tool. And plays it well.

  • @vartsniffer

The actor plays the part well. AJ is a charter. The character is a weak person. He's weak for a regular person, much less somebody who's generations deep in the mob.

  • @vartsniffer Agreed. It's basically the same thing as the guy who played Anakin Skywalker. Just because your CHARACTER sucks doesn't mean you're a bad actor.

  • Comment removed

  • @vartsniffer Agreed. Watching him grow up is one of the high-points of the show. Screw the haters, they know the same as they always have -- not a damn thang.

  • did AJ pretend to throw up?

  • if i was him my best scene would be bangin that blanca bird she was smokin

  • The bit with The Godfather comparison was slightly corny.

  • @brwhizz

    Agreed.

  • This panty waste AJ, everything he tried to do came up a zero. The attempt wacking of Junior a zero. the attempt vomiting a zero, i mean everything fucking thing. But yet this prick gets a pretty girl. Wow how twisted.

  • Grow up.

  • "Please rate and comment" eh?? Fucking great quality

  • ayyy watsma matta wit u! hu?

  • Hahaha It's not my knife.

  • Thats not my knife

  • lol

  • How the fuck did AJ think he was going to get away with this in a room full of witnesses?

  • because he's a fucking moron.

  • Ever think that he doesn't care if he gets away with it or not?

  • cmon a.j dont faint now. you got some work to do a.j. dont fall out a.j. ok. dont be a bitch.

  • geez how many times can you say aj in that sentence?

  • that is the lameest ass kid ive ever seen even for a gansters son. he's pathetic. absolutey pathetic. he cant do shit right. i bet he cant even wipe his ass right.

  • lmao! Good one he is ineed a pussy.

  • @rugerman3114

maybe thats a good thing. Obviously he doesnt end up like his dad.

  • The donut patrol let the mafia brat go....He should of used an ice pic or a steak knife not some huge butcher knife......It would ruin the scene though...."It's not my knife" LOL!

  • I would love to beat his ass with the handle of that knife.

  • that was cool scene

  • Yeah no doubt great acting.
