How true. my family and i have rescued numerous animals, but it s impossible to keep up with the unending closures and rebirths of puppy mills. i ve even trained feral ponies used only for breeding so they could be re-homed to a family that would FEED them. my oldest rescue came from a home that beat their dogs with shovels.@ one her teeth were rotten from malnutrition.

Thats a poodle & they are so smart! I had one & she was like my baby until she passed away at the vet hospital of unknown reasons! I would take that sweet baby any day!

I am actually the person that fostered this dog when she and 19 other of those dogs came to my shelter (Happy Tales Humane). I called her Silly Millie, the Dancing Dog. She lived with me for roughly two months. She was definitely traumatized by the mill, to the point that I could never leave her alone; she even slept on my desk at work. She has been adopted into a loving home, as have all the dogs we helped save that day.

I love this video. It brings back wonderful memories of my Silly Millie.

Unlike their previous owners....So even though they were transfered to another cage, they're in a much better place and they were before.

I'm confused. All the work in this video seems to be done by the people in the orange t-shirts. I researched this and they are from the group uan (dot) org. What was HSUS's exact role? Who is caring for the poodles now, and who is paying the bills? How many dogs is HSUS caring for? How much did HSUS contribute to the rescue effort as a percentage of thew hole cost?

I agree that some of these dogs needed to be rescued. However, portraying a dog as "dancing" when, in fact, the movements are signs of stress is wrong. This dog is not "dancing for joy". I would think that as the Humane Society of the United States, whose website says that a focus of theirs is pets, would know what they are seeing. At least have the integrity to not mislead the public.

...the dog is "dancing" in its own poop...The dogs I've seen who do the same thing as a way of saying, "Hey, I want out of this cage!"...not "Oh look how happy I am". If this was a video taken at a puppy mill, you guys would point this out as a stressed-behavior showing how it wants out. But when its at your facility you say it's dancing. Not saying I support puppy mills, or ANY facility with that many dogs, really. Over 200 is too many to take care of. These guys at least look healthy though.
