There are quite a few built up cities in Alaska. I lived in Fairbanks which is about in the middle of Alaska for a few years. They've got Walmarts, Burger Kings, movie theaters, strip malls, etc, etc. The nice thing is having the mountains and wildlife right there for you to explore.
Lovely video. You captured some of the essence of our home! Hard to do on vid, but you did do it! Congrats! Thanks for sharing with the world what we kind of often take for granted. :-)
@Andreas748 --- IT'S ALASKA! To get to any major corporate owned store, you will need to drive a ways ...for us in Homer, it means a 150 mile roundtrip. So, we buy local. Costs a bit more but in the long run, it's cheaper due to fuel prices! Besdies, why would you want to move the the Last Frontier to find a WALMART?! Good grief. Stay in the Lower 48 ... your kind are the ones ruining Alaska for the rest of us!
@terryliciareed ......I like the idea of the great outdoors, but I don't want to rely on having to shoot muskrats for diner either. Come to think of it I'd rather see Alaska from a cruise ship, plus I don't want to end up like Timothy Treadwell
You have some great pictures, but no one can really grasp what Alaska is really like till you have been here. A picture may paint a 1000 words, but 1000 words cannot describe this place.
It's very beautiful up there. I've spent quite a bit of time up in the Yukon and in Coastal Northern British Columbia. The Arctic regions of North America are stunningly beautiful and pristine. Alaska is next on my list and will become a reality next summer. Thank you for the video.
Nature a gift from our Supreme Father, Supreme Consciousness. But, we ignored it. We squandered, polluted, mining, and fracking. Our children and the next generation will suffer then. Sorry, my Father. Amen.
im 15 but im feel wayyy attached to Alaska somehow. haha even tho i live in utah. I wanna go in the coast guard and be a rescue swimer, and save lives in the Bering Sea. Thats the only thing i can see myself doing. OORAH!
im 15 an in kentucky.. alaska is my dream place im going there on a mission trip sometime next year and thinking of going to alaska bible college in glenallen
ha! ever lived there? ive been here since i was 3 months (not born here tho) it's THEE most boring place ever, and pictures can be deceiving..just remember tht
@teeheeHazelBreed I lived in alaska before for 4 years and if you think alaska is boring it's because you are boring. There is always something to do. The only people I know that get bored in alaska are lazy people who stay in doors all the time.
@TalinaOO7 There's always something to do if your into the nature lifestyle & winter sports, I however am not; there's no good stores, no good amusement parks, no outdoor water parks, and it's cold...[and everything else that seems fun at first just gets old] therefore there is NOTHING for me to do here, so why do I still live here right? I'm 14, I have to. So am I lazy? Yes, but only because I have no motivation to do anything, why? Because I'm not interested in what little there is to do here
@teeheeHazelBreed then maby its time you got off your ass and got out and enjoyed life instead of bitching about it on youtube. People who dont appreciate this state dont belone here. I have been out in the lower 48 and moved back because there is no where that compares to the view here in alaska, not many other states where we ahve as much freedom as we do. If you dont appreciate alaska then you dont deserve to be here. SO many teenagers now days are so damn lazy.
Hola,,I love Alaska this Video made me remember my journey in Alaska in summer 2001 , many things to see, many more to do,one of the most amazing things I did was to cut-and-eat fresh Raspeberries. simply amazing..your home is great...felicidades hugs. Mario
When I am near to nature, I feel love. Nature gives me love. I love nature. I hope everyone will love our earth too! Nature is simply dear to us that she does not deserve any pollutions and damage from us right?
