my 4 year old shitsu poodle was hit by a car 6 months ago. she was walking up to the groomer and wen she realized where she was she pulled her head out of the collar and ran out in the street and hit the wheel of a car going really fast. if she ran a split second earlier or later she would have been crushed..

The fact that the dog was hit by a car is not bad on the driver, but the fact that they left the dog is upsetting. I'm assuming the dog was hit by a car, left, and then another car passed and hit him again.

If you hit a dog, just take care of it, bring it to the vet. It doesn't make you a bad person, dogs will run in the street, it's called an accident for a reason, but do the right thing and bring them in to get help. :(

Maybe they will be able to help you with pain medication and a form of shoe so the dog can have a 'paw' (maybe get one of those dog sneakers but fill it with something so the dog will have a 'paw' so to speak, but that would have to be done by a professional AFTER being assessed by a vet).

My sister owns a pitbull named bonnie and she is a blue pit...she has a torn acl I believe and it is pretty severe, so severe that it doesn't grow anymore and is way smaller than her other leg. They are considering getting it amputated (it's her back leg) so hopefully it will help. I love that dog

My dog had his left front leg removed do to bone cancer. His vet gave him 6 months to a year of good life....well its been over 5 years now and he is still going. Happy, healthy just GREAT!!! He was up and about the day after surgery. It took him a week to get the balance completely down. He runs and plays and still buries bones. He is my miracle dog. By the way his a shepherd and pretty big. He has his own fan club. Many know him but not me, his mom! No pity for him, he's fine.

I worked at a pet hospital for over a decade. Over time, I had the chance to observe a couple clients that had 3 legged dogs. They seemed to have adapted well enough to have made it worth while. One dog did so well, I can't help but wonder if she even realized she was "handicapped" any more? She just did the best she could with 3 legs and that was life, no big deal. However that was a back leg, making it easier.

Well they mentioned earlier in the video he bit some of his toes off on that leg too so a bad infection was also there, and even with therapy the muscle in the leg wouldn't of healed right and it would be pain for the dog. Everything's connected to each other.
