Bloody hell, the feeling I get from listening to that is better than any drug out there. I felt like shit before I watched this now I'm on cloud 9; I need a cigarette now, phew!
Stevie ray Vaughan is the king of guitar! Imagine what masterpieces he would be turning out today if he hadn't passed. Old age wouldn't keep Stevie down!
my love for you just grows since the first time i saw you play how lucky & blessd am i thank you stevie i know you remember me too i was 16 oh yes...you burned it up...
That sound is unmistakeable. His tone, and the raspy voice were like bread and butter. They are perfect together. He changed music in the eighties. He dragged it back from synthesizers, and bad hair do's, to grit your teeth, and play your ass off! Imagine what music would have been like of not for SRV.
Heyyyy, I think this was the version from his best concert, imo. It was in austin at the House of Blues. There is a DVD box set devoted to that concert, badass...
Stevie was not only a great performer in his own, he brought me into the world of the electric blues. Stevie was and still is the greatest guitar player to ever walk the earth.
Was talking about how srv was getting so comfortable at being on stage. On this vid he KNEW he was on the path to change the world.Such confidence and diginity My god it still brings a damned tear to my eye when i think of what the world lost by his passing. FOREVER YA LIVE BROTHER
Does anyone know what year this is?.. or even where it's recoreded? i would easily give my right arm to be there. SRV is really showing what he was all about in this video.!! Oh my fucking god this is good shit,
@DinkoBah thats when you could tell they were true musicians look at eagles srv, clapt etc. but i really wish they could have made this a track i love this song but cant put it on my ipod :(
Stevie is the most marvelous musician who ever picked up a guitar. He could just take a song anywhere and never do it the same way twice, that takes a lot of creativity and talent. It's amazing that anyone could teach themself so much. I adored the way he played. His music is a mix of so many beautiful things. Still love your music Stevie.
@TheGibsonman59 lol.. I read it in a interview with his guitar tech. Ive tried .014's one time, and I could play them but after one song your fingers feel like their going to split. Even tuned down, I dont know how he played as hard as he did. SRV was and is the best.
@Mach1BluesMan damn, well you do know one way he played so good .. . his hands were fukin strong, like when you see his veins coming out. That shows how strong he was.
The fact that he couldn't read music still blows my mind, Just picked up a tune in his head and went. That just shows true talent. SRV, you are missed. Keep on rockin' in the next world!
I don't know if anyone has really noticed, but I think that chick in the white dress was really wanting to hump something really bad(I think she really wanted SRV lol),she was movin' if you know what I mean. I don't think there is a guitarist alive now who can hold a candle to Steve either playing or singing with as much emotion as he did. Lord he was smokin' and strokin'!
@mom295 That would have been something to see him in 1991, since his helicopter crash was in August of 1990. It must have been earlier than that. But I'm still jealous of anyone who saw him in concert, I never did.

R.I.P Stevie!!! The music just flows right through him, he becomes part of the guitar.

@Fleshcucumber1 There must have been alot of people here wanting to know everything that you heard or saw after midnight. Is it true that they didn't try to recover them until 5: a.m.? What if someone might still have been alive?
This whol ACL show was amazing. a lot of his live stuff you can tell he's physically a little sloppy, dressed weird and wired. This show he was clean, clean cut, and spot on. The power the band had at this show was amazing. SO tight.
I have this DVD. Man, he just rips it up!! This August will be 20 yrs. since he's been gone. RIP My friend. What a heart breaker! Sad loss and thank god for the memories!
Stevie was simply superb. I agree with those who say his talent was from another world. And his voice was killer as well. Love and miss you always sweet man!
Artistically beautiful and sensuous and probably didn't see himself that way. He took a deep and wonderful genre and made it his own, gave it his own soul. I miss him so much. He bent the rules of music and nearly broke them, but still created something valuable and profound. He was completely unafraid to express himself in any way he wanted to, that takes courage and enormous talent for it to be accepted, appreciated and admired. His music will live on.
Not only was he a marvelous guitarist, I cannot forget that beautiful soulful voice. It is hard to believe he is self taught. How could someone teach themself that much? Many people compare him to his idol Jimi Hendrix, and it is a fair comparison, but they were two different musicians, playing from their own souls. If only they hadn't left us so soon. My goodness, what would they have produced? We were blessed to have them both. Each one great in their own right.
If someone wanted to compare Stevie Ray Vaughan to something on the same level, in my opinion it would be Shakespeare or Mozart in the guise of a rock star. I am not crazy. Study his music and really take it apart. He is like watching someone like Michelangelo paint a masterpiece. Oh, the beautiful layers, oh the paths he creates. Creativity is endless. The tune, the melody, the emotion, the passion for perfection, it's all there. His creativity is unmatchable.
@jpgrnluv1234 Your kind, loving words about SRV really touched me deeply. His guitar mastery and soulful voice have always blown me away and I have to hear at least one Stevie tune each day. And the fact that he revered the masters and taught himself, to me, makes him even more astounding. Musical genius is something that I find really intriguing and Stevie had it in spades. Thank you for your loving words just break my heart.
The Legend of SRV, playing his first wife is as close as your going to get to having sex with this song 1994Alex....he deffinitely beet you to the punch!!lol
One of the greatest guitarists of all time. His talent was from another world. I was so, so fortunate to see him in concert. He brought the house down.
Anybody notice that old "number one" sounds incredibly mean on this? I have never seen this before.... looks like Austin City Limits, but I don't recall the savage tone on the other tracks. I like.
stevie ray vaughan is the best slide guitar player i have ever heard have you ever watch his face when he plays? now that getting into your music he plays from the soul. bb king and bonnie raitt is up thier high on the list also.
Damn, SRV & Double Trouble always were perfect, not a single song from them was boring or bad. Just look at Stevie adjusting his amp and no matter that still sounding awesome with that sustained note...I would love these guys still be around together. Great performance, as always by them.
It annoys me how good he was, I'd love to be able to do that.....never the less I love it

I like.

Damn, SRV & Double Trouble always were perfect, not a single song from them was boring or bad. Just look at Stevie adjusting his amp and no matter that still sounding awesome with that sustained note...I would love these guys still be around together. Great performance, as always by them.
