  • This was actually pretty good. Way less cheesy than I ever thought possible and Emilio is a gdamn man.

  • I almost got to level 13 but I took a laser to the knee.

  • You can get this in MAME. Emilio is still stuck in the game, that's why he didn't get any more acting work.

  • There's no way that kid out in New Jersey made it to level 13 twice.

  • Great music! Alternate takes of some punk rock classics.

  • The laser sounds are either from the original BSG or Buck Rogers...

  • i love love this movie,,,this is my favorite ,,the bishop is the coolest

  • so dated, but is stll a fun movie. soundtrack is good 2

  • One person dropped the gun after reaching level 13.

  • Oh, here's a good idea. Drop the video game gun which clearly works and run away. No wonder the Bishop took him down so easily.

  • Pretty creepy when you had only a 10 years old!

  • shhiver :o

  • too bad he didn't beat lvl 12 during opening hours, the bodies would have been

hitting the floor lol and no, she wouldn't have gotten her pizza.. and how the crap did he get into the mall itself, before breaking into the arcade? lol ( part 1 LOL @ the gangbangers)

  • one person sucked at the game; 70 likes, 1 dislikes

  • I like to know why has anyone posted night of the rat part yet thats my favorate part that gave me nightmares for weeks lol

  • So he gets trapped inside the Video Game and it ends, but realistically what happens after that? Do the Parents reports report their son being trapped in the game? Do they buy the Arcade machine? So they can keep their son trapped in a Video Game at home. Maybe someone has to play the game and reach a certain level to free him? So many questions lol.

  • the part where the bishop appears in the parking lot is sooooo creepy! Sometimes when I'm walking alone at night in one of those old parking lots, I remember that scene

  • cool film, big up to Emilio.

  • Continuity error.

04:47 Notice his left arm supports his right.

04:51 His left arm is gone (from under his right hand).

    04:53 Now it's back!

  • Wow is this a blast from the past! Netflix doesn't even acknowledge it as part of Emilio's filmorgraphy. Thanks for posting this!

  • reminds me of my Galaga playing days

  • Kick ass movie! thanks of uploading. Check out my playlist, lots of good movies there!

  • you.... cannot.... beat.... us.....

  • @XSC3 - We... are... nin-ten-dough.

  • Wonder if it's coincidence that his father was named Jerry Cooney?

  • " look at you hacker a worthless..."

    sorry thinking of system shock

  • I would have kept the gun.

  • @CelestialWoodway ...and turned my music way up....

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!

  • music = awesome

  • JJ/Emilio should have gone with his girl. I would have taken that option. :-(

  • The music in this is sooooooooooo cool.

  • Bad that the movie is out of print. :(

  • Nice music in this.

  • I like Emilio Estevez, Cool as Bill the Kid in Young Guns 1 and 2. Shame he ends up as a computer game character at the end of this. Still..... cool and frightening.

    :-)

  • WHAT where is PART 4

  • Music = Cool.

  • THE ULTIMATE KILL SCREEN

  • I like this episode of the nightmare movie.Because it just reminds me of TRON.Whats cool is how it shows him being in the arcade game.

  • On the way through the series, he encounters those few rebels who despise the reign of tyranny that the Bishop, who was once good. He turns in the rebel king, unaware that the Bishop planned to murder him. So he simulates the true king's death swearing to bring justice back, making friends with the rebel group.

All the while being promoted in this digital papacy, the change of heart experienced by this bounty hunter changes the nature of his gun, as well.

  • One more thing: Trapped in a life-or-death game, he quickly earns more of the Bishop's respect as a digital gladiator. Soon the Bishop of Battle promotes him to bounty hunter. From there, he starts doing the Bishop's bidding, who promises him passage back home in exchange for destroying rebel pawns (led by a deposed future king-in-hiding) who threaten his totalitarian rule.

  • Why does he drop the gun before going into car park? He could have used it to blow the Bishop away!

  • This minifilm is so funny.

  • noo :o

  • For Level 13, he should've worn his headphones with the music turned all the way up. FTW!

  • @dndrequiem - lol - yeah, he didn't take level 13 seriously enough, he dropped his weapon too.

  • @ChuckyDoll10 Yeah. This gives me an idea.... What if...

the end of this game is the beginning of a new adventure? A cartoon where JJ must fight aliens, starship to get back home. Think of it as D&D Animated meets Captain N. Except everything he zaps turns things from digital to normal life. The paradox:he zap things real but he can never seem to get home...or be real.

While in the world he gets promoted from pawn to rook, knight and ultimately must choose whether to be king...or go home.

  • see MASTER CONTROL lives again instead of FLYIN he got JJ lol get me dillinger!

  • @theENGLISHconection - lol ;-)

  • well it was from the movie NIGHTMARES!

  • Great Black Flag music in this film.

  • can sum1 plz tell me the song at the beggining of this vid

  • @tPSYCHOt FEAR-I don't care about you

  • lol its andross!

  • I like the fact that the pool shark, Mazenza, is played by Gary Carlos Cervantes, a fine actor. He was also in Schwartzenegger's "Commando" as a hard luck kidnapper-assassin who gets blasted in Jenny's room.

  • the way his left hand is fumbling for that 'button' makes me think he's not too good at finding or massaging a clit

  • I saw the movie "Nightmares" in Fukuoka Japan when I was a highschool student. I still remember that the audience laughed at the last scene. The movie was screened at the same time as "Raiders of the lost ark". I don't know the reason.

  • THEY KILLED ASTROIDS!!!!

  • Haha, this has already happened. All the little Rittalin addicted shits are already in the game. The only problem now is that they dont destroy the arcade. They open fire on real people. The movie is called Nightmares released in 1983. As I recall, there were 4 shorts. The devil monster truck, the pack of cigarettes, the bishop of battle, and the giant killer rat.

  • This is what would happen if Flynn and Tron didn't destroy the MCP.. :P

  • Im so glad you've uploaded these parts to this awesome film. When I was really young I watched this movie all the time on video. All the parts were brillaintly made. Thanks.

  • Thanks for uploading this. I watched this when I was a kid back in the 90's and it scared the hell outta me.

  • never even occurred to me... the first FPS game???

  • lol, bummer.

  • yo cool cats, this be da $@%& and all but i gots to say that the game don't look so fun

also, what the dilllyo with them introducing a new control scheme in the final level, that be skeezy!

  • i wish i hade a 3d game like that although wii fps shooters are close

  • Luv the music. The "Fear" songs are record samples but the "Rik L Rik" songs aren't off the "Beach Blvd" comp. Sounds like the music director had them re-record the tracks to slow em down for the movie

  • @shanestrange the Fear songs are definatley sped up cut versions made for the film.

  • What happened to the kid from Jersey!?!?!?

  • @dustmop He became the Bishop of Battle.

  • Damn. JJ is a terrible shot.

  • The thirteenth level of Burger Time is diabetes. :(

  • shang tsung could probably pull JJ out of that machine with his soul snatch fatality

  • Im guessing since the bishop turns you into the main game character then you would live your life being killed over and over on them demo screens that say (deposit coin) Then when somebody plays you dont have control of yourself... Lets hope they play well =)

  • there are 3 stories in nightmares.where is the first story.can you please upload the first story thanls for putting the movie. aanandh dube

  • score i mean

  • Hmm sucks being stuck in a low graphic game rest of your life , then again if he didnt meet his fate he would be obsessed collecting trophies on PS3 or tryigin to improve his game sore on x-live lol

  • Thank you enormously for posting - you're a legend whoever u are! I just can't get this ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!! Thank you SO much!

  • The Italian dub of this adds another final plot twist: at the end, when we see J.J. in the game, it is J.J. himself who makes the Bishop of Battle speech!

  • @DevilMaster Yeah, that makes more sense - like he actually BECOMES the Bishop of Battle..

  • heheh, i noticed there was a game in the arcade called "RIP - OFF" :D

  • Rip-Off actually exists and is emulated by MAME.

  • YOUR HEAD A SPLODE.

  • One company was working on writing a real game based on the Bishop of Battle from this movie. Developement on it seems to be dead though.

It was being done by the same people that created the WIndows version of The Last Starfighter. They wanted to take fictional video games from movies and create real versions of them.

  • you think there is a way yet to do something like this on PUNKED, where a video game and arcade and people and security are rigged so that a game falls apart, and holograms start jumping out and attacking an arcade? it must be possible....

  • A promising technique to do this is a static volume display. It's not a real hologram, since holograms cannot be animated; instead, it's a laser that emits powerful pulses that turn the air into plasma in the zone where the beam is focussed. A shape made of dots can then be constructed, moved in the air and animated. Check it out at watch?v=He2QTpelAjE .

  • awesome.

  • Wow, he literally is part of the game as he makes a pact with the 'master' And I love how the electronic spaceship comes out and transform the whole game room into a war zone..

  • Bishop HAD to have been the main influence for the final level boss in the first Arkanoid game, lol...

  • Just like in Godfather I, shoot Captain MacCluskey and Virgil Sollozzo in the head but remember to drop the gun. 5:09

  • A true 80s cult classic...video game paranoia at its finest :-)

  • maybe there is some way to do this on PUNKED, to fix up a game where it seems like it has come to life and video game creatures start coming out....

  • some hypnotist guy did something like this

he had this guy play a zombie game, the noises in the game made him fall asleep, and they took him to a near by building with actors as zombies and a fake gun, and the place looked exactly like the game, they woke him up and he thought he was in the game :D he went nuts, then they put him to sleep, and put him back at the bar where the game was :P and woke him up again

  • I saw that video too, and that was a fake.

  • why didnt he just sit and shoot the ships as they rose from the video game?

  • Well, I've got 14 progressively harder levels! What the fuck now, Bitch?

  • thanks for uploading

remember watching this as a kid. It use to be on tv once a year. Each episode was great.

  • watched this on VHs last night. The face in the parking grage looks cool. This is the best thing i've seen Emillo do, funny as hell when hes acting like an addict. The third part of this movie is the best, a Satan truck pops out of the ground and fucks up a priest, badass.

  • Yes, I remember that one with the priest. That was a close call for first place between the bishop of battle and the one your talking about. If I remember correctly the car the priest is driving changes style of tail lights from the beginning when it is first introduced, like they had different years posing as the same car. Excellent movie and music selection. If you own that tape copy it to a hard drive and put the tape in a safe. Very hard to come by. Only seen overpriced on line.

  • Movie was good but in noo way keeps up with Tron ! was waayy better..

    Joe

  • Man, I can't believe this is 25 years old already. I went to the theatre to see it, and of course, at the time, everyone was blown away. Still creepy tho.

  • One of my all time favs.

Thanks for posting. The whole Nightmares series was awesome.

Do not Dis the Bishop of Battle.

  • the special effects were cutting edge at the time.. the money that went into these effects almost made the movie go bankrupt..

  • Yeah... and nowadays they could be recreated by a single nerd with his laptop in his parents' basement.

  • @earlymtv Nowdays, such effects would be a piece of cake with AfterEffects or Flash.

  • Thanks again for posting this. SO awesome!

  • does jerry eat?

  • if you beat the game with jerry does that unlock jerry?

  • do you think jerry is still trapped in the game or was the game destroyed?

  • will his mom bring the arcade machine home. so she can spend time with her son. she'll have to play the game to see him though

  • Will scientist now study the machine to figure out how a human being can be trapped inside an arcade machine?

  • Here comes your night to remember!

  • Thanks for posting this! I saw this when I was a kid, and remembered it after reading a very funny review on it.

If Emilio had never met his fate, in ten years he would have been free and psychotically obsessing on getting to Sheng Long in Street Fighter 2.

  • How did he break nto an arcade located INSIDE a mall? Just askin'...

  • You can't ask those kinds of questions when

you watch a movie, otherwise you'll slip

    back into reality.

  • Yes, I can...thee's a huge difference between 'suspension of disbelief' and 'plot holes'

  • the bishop works part-time as the final boss in Star Fox as well.

  • Congratulations, you beat Bishop of Battle. YOU ARE A FAG!

  • Hey! All of the video gamers from the 80s--This short flick "ROCKED." It was the first time I had ever seen Emilio Estevez. This 3 part trilogy was the second of a double-feature with " A Night In Heaven," and it just didn't get any better than this in the 80s!!!!!!!!!!

  • I spent an hour trying to find the name of this move, much appreciated for you uploading it

  • glad to do it, my friend. The world needs to see this.

  • that it does!

  • @dwork6 - always had a fascination with 'Nightmares', especially this one, I like Emilio.

  • it's actually based on a true story.

  • I saw this movie at the theatre in 1983 when

    I was 17. It was shown as a double-feature

    along with Psycho II.

It's been a personal favorite (especially "The

    Bishop") ever since.

  • I love this one. The Are You Afraid of the Dark episode with the pinball machine seems to be a loose remake of this. Both main characters become obsessed with their games, both take place in the mall, and both have the game becoming REAL.

  • 5:09 ... HE DROPPED THE GUN! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM! ARE PEOPLE IN 80'S HORROR MOVIES THAT STUPID!!! Oh well, he deserved it after how he talked to his parents.

  • @TechnoHajikelist : He also deserved it after the way he treated his friends, his girlfriend, and Willie, the owner of Game-O-Rama!

  • dude! the bishop ate emilio!

  • Yeah, wakka-wakka!

  • This movie is trippy as hell.

  • videogame addiction anyone...?

  • funny how level 12 looks nothing like before

  • is there a part 4?

  • There is no part 4. There is clearly an end here.

  • saw this when it came out. classic-the music in this is the best! thx!

  • saw it back then, too - very cool. music was by "black flag" if i remember right.

  • Thanks for posting this excellent addition to 80s sci-fi horror!

  • 5:09 He drops a real gun on the ground not a plastic arcade gun, noticed it without having to pause. This movie owns..so does Tron..Wizard tends to get all the credit lol.

  • no, he doesn't actually.

  • yeah i saw this at the movies when it came out.. a classic..... ownage.

  • this came out the same time REPO MAN DID! could you upload: REPO MAN?

  • no, I don't have repo man but i'm sure you could easily find a torrent.

  • "Try me if you dare."
