  • japan stop your whaling under the guise of research - where are the scientific results of your illegal whaling? the world is waiting

  • Tree huggers...

  • WE WILL NEVER STOP!!

  • isanatori, why was the "dedicated sighting vessel" tailing them then?

  • fuck all of those whalers who fight against the sea shepherds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good they deserved it. i hope they die. fuck japs they can die all of them i agree with the comment below me 100%

  • Like we car, You fucking japs suck, shame we didn't destroy your whole country at the end of WW2

  • YOUR IN OUR WATERS AUSTRALIAN WATERS YOUR FUCKING LAWS DONT EXIST IN OUR TERRITORY IF YOU HAD TAKEN ANY OF THESE AUSTRALIANS HOSTAGE THE AUSTRALIAN ARMY/NAVY WOULD BE CALLED INTO EFFECT THEN THESE JAPS WOULD TURN TAIL AND RUN THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE AS THE NAVY WOULD PERSUE THEM AND TAKE THEM BACK TO PORT FUCKING DUMB JAPS I HONESTLY HATE HOW U KILL WHALES AND SAY ITS RESEARCH WELL THATS NOT LOGICAL TO KILL SOMTHING THATS ALREADY RARE GET OUT OF OUR WATERS OR PREPAIR TO BE RAMMED

  • @rhemity Check your facts, man. You seem to be quite confused about the legality of research whaling and the waters around the Antarctica not belonging to Australia.

  • @isanatori ok i just check my facts heres what i found these boats where between davis and mawson station 15 nortical miles from antarctica that is australia territory sorry if you didnt know that but australia pretty much has the biggest piece of the pie down there so no im not wrong but thanks for making me look into it more and prove my point further thanks

  • @rhemity Well, I can say, you didn't check your facts well enough... Look for the Antarctic Treaty. Those waters do NOT belong to Australia. Australia's claim is stopped by the Antarctic Treaty. Period.

  • @isanatori Checked again that treaty in NO way rules over the australian amagna carta and Under the ATS any activities in the extremely sensitive Antarctic and Southern Ocean are subject to rigorous environmental impact assessments before they are permitted to proceed Activities include the construction of new scientific bases tourism and scientific research their whaling program being the biggest maritime operations in the Antarctic every year the Government of Japan has not met this obligation

  • @rhemity Really? Article IV.2: "No acts or activities taking place while the present Treaty is in force shall constitute a basis for asserting , supporting or denying a claim to territorial sovereignty in Antarctica or create any rights of sovereignty in Antarctica. No new claim, or enlargement of an existing claim to territorial sovereignty in Antarctica shall be asserted while the present Treaty is in force". It's all here. Those waters aren't recognized as belonging to Australia.

  • @isanatori Currently the whalers operate with sub-Antarctic standard vessels and undertake extremely dangerous operations such as refueling at sea. The environmental risks associated with Antarctic whaling were clearly highlighted in 2007 by the explosion and subsequent fire onboard the whale factory vessel, the Nisshin Maru, which could have resulted in the spillage of chemicals and hundreds of tonnes of fuel oil.

  • @rhemity Yet, there weren't any spillage and zero tons of fuel oil leaked in the sea. What do you complain about?

  • @isanatori “Antarctica and the Southern Ocean are governed by one of the most comprehensive environmental legal regimes. Why is Japanese whaling exempt from that regime? Antarctica has been designated as a natural reserve to protect its unique environment for future generations. Japanese whaling is already a stain on this environment,“It is inexplicable and inexcusable that Japan’s whalers be allowed to operate without any accountability

  • @rhemity Yet, Japan's research program in the Southern Ocean is perfectly legal under International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling.

  • @isanatori And where is the southern Ocean lol enough said you cant keep going you cant counter what i have put foward with proof you fail to see the japans fault and feel like backing them just for the sake of causing argument this is becoming pointless as i do not need to prove anything to you i have done so and you continue to remain blind that is Not my problem and i will not take on any more uneducated comments on this goodbye

  • @rhemity LOL! So yeah, the Southern Ocean is around the Antarctic continent which belongs to no one as the Antarctic Treaty freezes every territorial claim on it. So, yeah, you just proved that you can't understand this. Anyway, all that talk about environment impact assessment was just a way to change the subject, wasn't it?

  • P.S. Its fair game since Japan has rammed many ships in the past so now its a tactic which is getting used back on them. On this occasion the SS chose not to ram the ship which I think was a mistake. They should have gone full steam ahead and rammed that jap ship to the bottom of the sea.

  • Whaling is going out!!! Do you think it because the world is becoming more CIVILIZED????

  • Do you hear or see a collision? No. Were there any photos from the ICR showing damage. No.

I agree with lostinthegame77, It's people like you that make Japan look like the unintelligent nation out of the bunch.

  • @catguy43 Who cares whether there was a collision or no. That was a very dangerous maneuver from joke captain Fatson. What you may think of Japan is pretty much unimportant. I'm not Japanese, btw.

  • @isanatori "Who cares whether there was a collision or no."

Then why lie in your description asshole??

  • Whales are intelligent beings that think, have language and even grieve!

  • @Puff29646 When's the last time you had a conversation about philosophy with a whale exactly, mate?

  • @Puff29646 octopus is the most intelligent beings of the sea. but no one is crying when they hunt them. why, arnt they cute enough?

  • @azzazzazzaaaa WRONG! Cetaceans are the most intelligent beings of the oceans! Google the 10 most smartest animals on Earth!

  • @Puff29646 sorry wrong use of words "among the most intelligent beings in the sea" but my point still stand.

  • @azzazzazzaaaa exactly, no one cares about Octopi no matter how smart they are because they aren't cute and cuddly. Btw, Octopuss have been proven to be able to solve many complex puzzles and to have the ability to learn from watching. Don't see whales doing that.

  • Comment removed

  • ICR are a bunch of whiny bitches. When they ram a ship and put people in life threating situations eveything is fine. When the tables get turned on them they start crying like a bunch of little bitches. STFU ICR!!

  • fuck japan!!

  • .I would love to see the whole Japanese Whaling fleet on the bottom of the ocean.I can't believe they call it research and continue to kill more than 500 whales a year in that cause. No research would require that many whales to be killed a year, and yet thanks to greed and payoffs it continues. And yes the meat from these "research" kills goes right into packaging and into markets all over Japan.

  • whining...whining...duhh..stupid!

  • wannin...wannin...duh...stupid....

  • fuck the acid.. throw grenades at the fucking japs

  • why should they stop? i would sink u assholes. whaling is just plain wrong

  • CONGRATULATIONS SEA SHEPHERD. Fighting the misfortune that kill only for personal profit without thinking about the Conservation of Cetaceans. VIVA CHILE LES SUPPORTS SEA Shepherd!

  • So, the ideia you have, isanatori, is that the japanese should keep on slaughtering whales for "research", which by chance makes them millions, or woul if not for the great actions of the SS, until they drive the whales to extinction? piss off

  • Ramming their ship against the whalers' isn't a solution to anything. Great actions my arse. There's nothing great in putting your crew's lives in danger.

I don't support whaling, neither do I support such violent, irresponsible acts of the SS crew. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  • @GTRyan32, you dont like whaling, but you dont want them to be stopped?

  • these fuckin whalers only have the sympathy of the mediocrity of their country, that's why these japanese continue to kill more whales around the world and breaking the international agreements..Thanks SS for defending our oceans from these killers and risking their lives in dangerous situations!!

  • the shit that spills from your jap mouth is more acidic than what the good captain and his crew is throughing at you. slant eyed cunt. sea shepherd will bankrupt the jap whaling industry sooner than you think.

  • I want someone to die. I don't care which side their on, just someone.

  • If the IWC was was funded by the Japanese then the IWC would life the world wide moratorium on commercial whaling and Japan would just go about commercial whaling. None of this has happend so I would guess that your claim is false.

The IWC is made up of 88 countries (I believe). Some are pro-whaling and some are anti-whaling. But the IWC is not a organization funded by Japan.

  • Go Sea Shepard !!!!

    Go Paul Watson!!!!!!

    Down with dishonorable Isanatori.

    BBooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

  • I didn't think that reply to one of your comment would make you that excited. Is that age of 36 year old real?

  • @adjn1973

Makes mind'a wonder what all the bitching about the Ady Gil was about...

  • nice job steve irwin . . . those bastards need to be taught a lesson. . . on preserving our enviorment

  • You should hire Blackwater to do your security. And, your government should petition Australia to prevent the Steve Irwin from porting there.

  • Haha that would be great. I would so watch Whale Wars if the Whalers hired Blackwater to be on their ships while whaling.

  • good job sea shaphard!!!!!!!

  • i saw that on the tv and i agree with the sea sheperds whales should be saved

  • Ummmm that was pointless! The ship wasnt even touched....DAMN maybe next time

  • I am very amazed by all the anti-Japanese racism from western eco-terrorists.

  • LOL the steve irwin doesnt even hit your whale hunting ship, nice propaganda stunt though, nice try. Stop whale hunting you useless japenese scum, find something else to eat for dinner

  • seasheperd has never injured anyone in their cause for a healthy world. however, the japanese have injured and kidnapped members of seashepherd. resistance against seasheperd would invite the extinction of whales, with as result a missing link in the foodchain whereby some creatures explode in numbers making the ocean inhospitebe to so many creatures that live there, that it would even affect landlife. ladies and gentlemen, i think its time to look beyond money. money is the roots of all evil.

  • Sea Shepherd have slightly injured Japanese sailors with the butyric acid they throw onto the decks of the Japanese vessels. (this is no rancid butter as you can see in Whales Wars)

    B. Potts and G. Lanes were held into custody because they illegally boarded the Yushin Maru 2. This is no kidnapping.

Japan has NO wish to hunt whales until extinction. Minke whales are abundant in Antarctic waters. The catches are sustainable.

    Check your facts, mate.

  • butyric acid has no dangerous properties, wich could damage health(Check your facts mate). it just smells like hell. whatever the intend of the japanese is, the uninterveined outcome, is the total annihilation of the spiecies. we've got to stop it, its as simple as that.

it makes me sick that YOU GUYS prefere animals being brutaly and slowly sloughtered than see someone not making profits. it seems humans are still as primitive as before technology came.

deep in your heart you know u r wrong.

  • You need to check the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for butyric acid. I read :

"Harmful if swallowed or inhaled. Corrosive. Extremely unpleasant smell may cause nausea. Liquid may burn skin and eyes. Readily absorbed through the skin. Severe skin, eye and respiratory irritant."

    No dangerous properties, really?

The quotas for Japanese research programs are sustainable and won't cause the extinction of the targeted species, especially minke whales who count in hundreds of thousands in SO.

  • now you're wrong, butyric acid is no real thread. your own body produces it. by sweating. you eat butyric acid. in smelly cheese. wikipedia says it has no dangers other than that it's corrosive, wich you mentioned. direct contact doesn't mean instand affection. only if you would intendedly put (a piece of)yourself inside the acid it affects you. wich no jappanese were forced to do.

by the way, I don't suppose you know that the founder of sea shepherd (&greenpeace) got shot luckily wearing armor

  • If butyric acid is corrosive, it means it is toxic and dangerous. The whole thing is about concentration. It may be low for sweat and cheese, but is undoubtedly high for the industrial made bottles Sea Shepherd throws onto the decks of Japanese vessels.

Paul Watson pretended to have been shot, but anybody who can think logically will understand that : 1) it was almost impossible to shoot at his heart in such conditions, and 2) a kevlar vest and badge wouldn't have protected him enough anyway.

  • It's up to you to be gullible enough to believe any piece of crap that Sea Shepherd propagandists release, but you don't need to report it here as I know it already.

If you're so proud of them, just join them.

  • 2 be honest, i already fund them, and becouse of sentient beings like me, japan is almost defeated, and will soon be.

in order to make a fair judge, u must look at the facts objectively. but once you've made up your mind about who's side youre on, thats not so easy. but if you are that adult to be able to look unpartially, and do not allow lies and deceptions misguide you, you would see that SS is fighting the right fight.

  • there's a saying: the needs of the many are worth more than the needs of the few.

the entire planet benefits from maintaining the appropriate number of whales. to hunt and sell whales, serves a japanese company, and that company allone. therefor, it would be irradicle to allow them to keep spreading death and decay. a few jobless people and a few less millionairs in the world is a small price to pay for ending whaling. if you want to let some1 else do the work, fine. but dont lie about SS.

  • it was a small bullet. beside, why would animal planet make a small serie about SS if they were criminals of somekind? why would western countries not stop SS if what they did was illegal? don't interfere with things wich you know too little about.

  • As I said, it's up to you to believe everything Watson and his propagandists release, but basing your judgement only on what SSCS is certainly not being objective.

Japanese research programs (including the catching of whales) is perfectly legal. You just need to read the Convention for the International Regulation of Whaling (article 8) to understand it.

Besides, the IWC has condemned violent and dangerous actions by Sea Shepherd several times.

  • SSCS has also lost its observer status at the IWC after sinking whaling boats in Reykjavik harbour. That NGO represent nobody when they pretend to be "enforcing" international law.

The thing is that they act in legal grey zone. They have a Dutch-flagged vessel operating from Australia in international waters against Japanese vessels. It makes it difficult to act legally against them. But you should wonder why they don't try to stop Japanese whaling in Japanese waters.

  • The answer is simple: they would get arrested. Unless of course, SSCS thinks the whales in the Northern Pacific (or even those in Norwegian or Icelandic waters) are less important than those in the Southern Ocean.

Watson repeats often than he's never been convicted, but he actually was, in Norway, in absentia in 1990's. He would have been extradited from the Netherlands if there hadn't been a campaign to release him from other NGOs. So don't expect him to be brave enough to go to Norway.

  • They take the fight where they have the best chances of sucess. I'd call that an intelligent well executed manoeuvre, Isanatori.

    What would you call it?

  • Im an Aussie, Sea Sheperd is embarrassing and an unbelievably stupid waste of money. I don't like whaling. I think its bad but I hope more sea sheperd wankers get sunk.

  • talking about propaganda, everyone knows that the letters research are just a trick to fool the public, like they fooled you. whaling has been made illegal. if u would want 2 research on whales, its totally insane to sloughter them. and if it would be research, why kill so many? why would you need a factory ship?why (try to) destroy them with explosive harpoons if you want them intact?why are there more butchers than scientists onboard whaling fleets?can you answer these questions? i thought not

  • and even IF all the jappanese lies were true, its still unethical to terrorise the whales. that main fact, wich it is all about, cannot be denied. and so what watson does is the right thing. you don't need a law to see that the jappanese are the bad guys

  • I think you should educate yourself a lot more on the subject of Japanese research programs on cetaceans and their legality, and in an objective way, that is without relying only on Sea Shepherd's propaganda.

Then, once you've done that, come again. I think your opinion on Watson and SSCS will have changed 180 degrees by then.

  • u know what, i'll stop trying to open your eyes. U just want to believe what's the easiest thing to believe, you probably dont even believe that whales experience pain when they're shot. u r 2 unethical 2 see the pain japan gives. u r probably as much of a monster as the japanese themselves are. it's too late for you.

    bye

  • lol. I could say almost the same about you as you seem to have been brainwashed by the Sea Shepherd rhetoric. You should rather try to open your own eyes and look at things from another angle, but it's up to you if you prefer Paul Watson to think for you.

  • It is true that research is really just a guise for commercial whaling; but I don't see anything wrong with commercial whaling in the first place. The countries that practice whaling have done so for hundreds and for Japan, probably thousands of years and it is an integral part of their maritime tradition....

  • I find it really hypocritical that these crazed fanatics who on the one hand assail the lost of world cultures by mass Westernization and on the other tell other cultures how they should and shouldn't behave. The fact is the majority of whale populations are rebounding, and certain species are even overpopulated (i.e. pilotwhales). It would be tragic to permanently lose entire species of whales, but...

  • Excuse me Isanatori, - I don't see queues of television companies waiting to join your ships.

Why don't they want to join your ships, Isanatori?!

  • Isanatori, when are you going to give up the propaganda?

Even the ICW admits that the only research they are doing is to kill a thousand whales a year and prove that the stocks don't deplete.

This is not science, its a harvest.

    Japan sign the treaty.

ICW is a PIRATE fleet, sanctioned by the dishonored Japanese government. PERIOD.

No amount of FUD is going to change that.

  • The legality is not the issue, Isanatori, the issue is whether it's right or wrong.

  • What Watson and his puppets are doing is indeed both wrong and illegal. I think you got it all.

  • @isanatori fuck you maTE the japnesse are just trying new techniques at illegally killing whales the sea shepards are like a modern day william wallace!

  • Good comment, they are like a modern day William Wallace. If only we could do to the Japanese what they did to the English...

  • eh excuse me, Whales were on this planet long before we were!,. There more intelligent than us and certainly less destructive. The End of the day, i think its a sin to be killing these buitiful creatures just to fill our pockets with cash. If i had the money and resources id be helping the Sea Shepard in stopping whale and dolphin slaughter. Plus in that video i didnt see any ramming of a ship. Just a close collision, Illegal system is fucked up, we know inside whats right and wrong.

  • @lostinthegame77 LOL. Go play silently with your train, little boy.

  • Comment removed

  • @lostinthegame77 I am in Japan, stupid.. No go back to your basement and play silently, kiddo.

  • Comment removed

  • @lostinthegame77 Yep. Doing that every time I'm having whale meat. I'll think of you next time I have some.

  • @isanatori It's people like you that makes Japan look like a ton of Scumbags.

  • @isanatori Hmm... Do you eat snakes, avian regurgitation, cat, dog, rat, and testicles etc as well? Do you believe they make you more sexually potent? lmao!!! It's hard to change a people whom have lived in ignorance for thousands of years. It becomes a way of life for them!

  • @Puff29646 No, I don't eat all those things, but eating whale isn't about sexual potency. It's certainly not been for thousands of years, but your ignorance is quite impressive. Hopefully, one day, you open your eyes and become a bit less gullible and more open minded.

  • @isanatori Open minded? You mean conformed don't you? Who here is truly ignorant? Open minded my ass! Open to the slaughter of one of Earths most graceful and intelligent beings. A being who thinks, has emotion, even grieves! Furthermore, a being whom happens to be our "allies of the oceans". There are documented cases of cetaceans warning, even saving human beings from danger. Who's the ignorant one here???

  • Honestly If people rammed my ship and threw shit at me that would make me want to kill more whales. Sea sheperd.....Your just digging a hole for your beliefs to be burried in

  • Paul watson is a fucking asshole who intimidates people on his ship to directly but there lives in danger. its a worth while cause but not at any price

  • Whale harvesting sucks.

  • The Japanese are illegally harvesting whales for their sick consumption.

  • wrong, pefrectly legal.

  • All the Japanese fleet has the same Captain's voice. interesting. Could it be a recording? Hmmm...

  • Fuck all you SS haters

  • Not hate, laugh.People laugh at you!

  • you should try being an ss hater. it feels really good knowing that you are on the right side! send the steve irwin to the bottom!

  • SSCS is a group of terrorist racist thugs. They must be destroyed

  • To me it looks like the SS had engines in full reverse and they didn't hit the ship

  • Comment removed

  • japanese joke ?
