In each soviet republic there were two official languages Russian and your own language. Well you need to help yourself to some serious literature to understand what really happened. Because most of historical material (doesn't matter what century or events) has been changed and interpreted quite a lot because of propaganda. It's a problem, that not everyone can understand that. There were cartridges found from weapons that weren't used in soviet army as standart issue, different calibers and things like that, but no one thougth that to be important.

We have existed since the stone age my friend , our freedom was taken from us in 1227. There are some influences from other cultures but the most of it is our own. Tribe doesn't mean the same thing as a country (all the people came from tribes, but not all formed countries) I meant, to have your own independant, centralised state with your own government, army, money.. etc. There were no such countries like Latvia or Estonia both of them were conquered by german religious orders, before those countries even started to form from tribes. So, technically they never existed as unique culture or nation.

Finns did well back then during the "Winter War" and that was luck, underestimation of the enemy, weather conditions (mostly) because the machinery stopped often, forest terrain and unique way of finish fightning. Soviets attacked second time "Continuation War" and won it. even with the german help finns lost that second time. So you see ? It was plain LUCK. Also, Estonians wouldn't have a chance of staying independant Soviet army at some point peaked 5 000 000 soldiers.

That is a brilliant tactic that could have been used here also , we got two great points of holding the soviets back : The Narva hills and the Pihkva area . It would have been more than possible to defend our country or dying doing so.
I'm not saying that Finns did bad. In fact, they did great defending their country, but that was just one-timer and only furthered the inevitebility of defeat (not total annexation). In case of Estonia, even if such plans would've been carried out, you'd only had a snowballs chance in hell during soviet counter offensive in later years of war. In the end of war soviet troops were much more advanced and there was literally million-man offensive when germans were pushed back.

I love how everyone wants to debate on the crimes committed during WW2. Yes the Allies, Russia, and The Axis ALL committed war atrocities but people thats war. Name to me one war where no terrible atrocity happened. I highly doubt a single person whether they be a historian or common reader can name a single such "clean" war. I really have to say, the Nazi crimes is extremely exaggerated.
The Nazis did wage a war, and indeed "cleaning" Europe from Jews, but again, *Extremely exaggerated* and preposterous!. Back then we had money, social security, we were allowed to speak our own language and follow our own traditions. So in the end, we were free. About the countries cultural well-being, I can tell that for e.g. Lithuania, was culturaly enriched during the soviet so called "oppression" there were more movies in lithuanian, by lithuanians. Well you need to help yourself to some serious literature to understand what really happened. Because most of historical material (doesn't matter what century or events) has been changed and interpreted quite a lot because of propaganda. It's a problem, that not everyone can understand that. There were cartridges found from weapons that weren't used in soviet army as standart issue, different calibers and things like that, but no one thougth that to be important.

No such order was given (to take hostile actions against the crowd) until someone began shooting from different angles to provoke chaos and revolution (are you that naive and you think that all revolutions happen all of a sudden ?) Almost certainly there's always some "interest groups", who need such thing to happen. We have existed since the stone age my friend , our freedom was taken from us in 1227. There are some influences from other cultures but the most of it is our own. And look at Finland , they fought back against russians in world war 2 and have been the rightful rulers of their land ever since.

Tribe doesn't mean the same thing as a country (all the people came from tribes, but not all formed countries) I meant, to have your own independant, centralised state with your own government, army, money.. etc. There were no such countries like Latvia or Estonia both of them were conquered by german religious orders, before those countries even started to form from tribes. So, technically they never existed as unique culture or nation.

Finns did well back then during the "Winter War" and that was luck, underestimation of the enemy, weather conditions (mostly) because the machinery stopped often, forest terrain and unique way of finish fightning. Soviets attacked second time "Continuation War" and won it. even with the german help finns lost that second time. So you see ? It was plain LUCK. Also, Estonians wouldn't have a chance of staying independant Soviet army at some point peaked 5 000 000 soldiers.

@StMindaugas They won because of many reasons such as their knowledge of the area, the after effects of the great purge , low morale of soviet soldiers and most of all : their tactics , they singled out enemy units which they overnumbered and destroyed.
That is a brilliant tactic that could have been used here also , we got two great points of holding the soviets back : The Narva hills and the Pihkva area . It would have been more than possible to defend our country or dying doing so.

I'm not saying that Finns did bad. In fact, they did great defending their country, but that was just one-timer and only furthered the inevitebility of defeat (not total annexation). In case of Estonia, even if such plans would've been carried out, you'd only had a snowballs chance in hell during soviet counter offensive in later years of war. In the end of war soviet troops were much more advanced and there was literally million-man offensive when germans were pushed back.

I think the best memorial to the bombing of Dresden would be to erect a statue to Sir Arthur Harris right in the centre of Dresden to remind the krauts that they lost and if they ever rise up to threaten the world again then we will be ready to bomb them all over again.
