I will add that Edmonton IS a bad place to live if you hate winter. :-p I want to move to the coast myself, if I can, because I'm not a big fan of the dry cold and little daylight we get between October and April. I also abhor icy roads and sidewalks. I've fallen and hurt myself so many times!

Oh well, Edmonton has been my home for so long that I consider it my hometown. If some people hate this place, I don't care. One person's trash is another person's treasure, right? :)

Anyone who thinks Edmonton can only be either boring or ugly doesn't know what they're talking about. City Council may have made poor infrastructural choices (esp. in downtown and other places that lack character, and the LRT is WAY behind) but our river valley is gorgeous and we're not known as a "festival city" for nothing! Great arts community, too, and how about the U of A? Edmonton has its share of problems, but it has its good points too, like any other place.
