Carter Hayes was arrested in the mugshot and he's in jail. What is that mean they're lying? What is that mean these people are completely pathological? The took a half years rent from Carter Hayes and they said he never paid them? Why would they evicted him, slandered him, totally destroyed his credit? Why did they physically assaulted him? @chr5210 he got busted and asked florence for the bail money. he tells her that his psycho landlords are out to destroy his life. he's basically switching up the relationship with the landlords to one where THEY are the terrorizors and HE is the innocent guy that that they arev out to get.; in an effort to get florence to sympathize with him and get him out of jail. the man could be her lawyer or relative. maybe he's even her gay husband and they have an agreement. his identity is not revealed.
@KT926 I totally agree with you. How funny that I ordered only these two movies off of Amazon last week and they both arrived today! I love suspenseful plot-twisting back-stabbing flicks. Also love Pelican Brief, and Consenting Adults.

My only issue with the film is the ending. It turns into a typical 'Fatal Attraction'/slasher flick. I would have preferred a different kind of conclusion.
