  • suddenly i feel like im in fallout.... my god....

  • Mass distraction?

    Funny stuff :)

  • Goliathon should been to Scout or Spy

  • And now they make models for Team Fortress 2.

  • this might come in handy. does it come with one of those pith hats as well?

  • I aint paying 3000 dollars for a thing that does not shoot. If some one modded so it shot I would buy it :D

  • the iPod game is what its from

  • I dont really get it...They are rayguns made out of plastic it seems (from what ive watched) and it looks like an awesome idea so i went on the website and i dont understand why they are so much for a large ray-rifle i would say like 300-500 but the they are like 1,000-2,000$ and the SMALL pistols are like 500$ if they were made out of metal and wood maybe but its just soo expensive...

  • At first I was like: "That's awesome, just take my money, Weta", but then I was like: "...not THAT much"

  • new raygun wow

  • I think this is how life would be if the church hadn't suppressed everything for 1000 years. Technology would have progressed through the dark ages, but culture advances normally.

  • the guy at 1:25 looks like John Cleese

  • @Arbiter091 How to defeata man armed with a banana

  • Class!

  • id buy that

  • No animals were actually atomized during the filming of this presentation. But they could have been.

  • Oh this little Auto-Gyro, It's my wave disruptor gun.

  • Hello gentlemen Look at your handgun, now back at these Now back at your handgun, now BACK to these. Sadly, yours is not one of these; But if you order now they could be like these. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're on a Zeppelin with the ray-gun your gun could be like. Whats in your hand? back at me. I have it. Its a steampunk raygun. Look again. THE RAYGUN IS NOW DIAMONDS. Anything is possible with steampunk. I'm on a blimp.

  • How is it not Steampunk? Well yeah, okay they ARE Gothic Rayguns TO BE USED in Steampunk! Or would you wear biker clothes while shooting with one of those?

  • This is such a throwback to Bioshock in terms of the 30s/20s film style. (i.e. the borders, music, narration and Art Deco/Modern sunburst backgrounds) :)

  • @thEannoyingE - you are such a throwback to dumbass.

  • if only i had enough money, then id get the goliathon 83 T-T

  • @thegrief13 at least there's christmas! :P

  • This isn't Steampunk. This is raygun Gothic - still a cool subgenre, but not Steampunk. And there are several score Steampunk films. Google them, there are plenty!

  • @AdrianMcCauley true. but i think this would technically be steampunk as well. though i do agree, they look a little less steam-punk than other items.

  • great!

  • Each time i watch it it keeps getting funnier

  • 1:29 that was awesome, how the feet fell down like that, very well made!

  • F.M.O.M-Fuck Mom

  • rofl i allmost died laughing

  • how would u make those litle glowing tube things?

  • I order it! ^^ Don't want to feed my horses anymore XD

  • i love how he says "mass distraction" instead of "mass destruction".

    1:50.

  • My hubby made this infomercial for Weta, wrote the script, cast it, directed it and cameoed in it - *proud* :-)

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

  • the part with the horse is the best! LOL

  • LMAO!!! I LOVE this!

  • steampunk = clockwork repeating rifles, not rayguns

  • Depends on the Steampunk universe in question though, doesn't it?

However, I do prefer clockwork repeating rifles myself.

  • yeh maybe a tesla pistol or sumtin likethat

  • love the horse bit .... :)

I simply must one one ... Steampunk rules ... I wish we lived in that world .. it would be so cool

  • hi! can you tell me, where i can find these light-blue shiny lights?

i want to create my own steampunkoutfit and i am searching for these.

  • man i lived in a parallel universe in the late 1800s and steampunk was reality...

  • Pure Genius.

  • Cool. I love Steampunk.

  • 10 seconds is an awfully long time to watch most of an elephant dissolve before your eyes. In fact thinking about it, it'd be just gross!

I suddenly have a craving for atomising moon soldiers now, lol

  • Comment removed

  • poor horsey XD and those legs XDXD

  • ' US dollars? What on Earth ( or indeed 'in the empire') are they? I purchased a Goliathon 83 from an emporium in the Lunar city of New Doncaster for £55 2s and 6d last year and spent an uproarous time hunting spiny trusk beasts on the Utopia Planitia plains of Mars all summer.

    Jolly good times!'

see, steampunk to me is all about a British Empire that reached space in the late 19th century

  • Steampunk technology in modern progress level.

  • i wish steampunk would be more in reality

  • @stefanadolfspies same, ive always wanted to run around n steampunk goggles with a blaster screaming stuff

  • That would be very cheap, you can vaporize, and it's cheaper than most guns that just shoot bullets...

  • id get third one i like making my point

  • wild wild west was great but i hate will smith! why's he in so much good things that would be better without him?

  • And who would you replace Will Smith with?

    I personally like him.

  • Someday they need to make a steampunk movie!

  • They did, it's called Wild Wild West.

But, yeah we need more steampunk films

  • I would argue that only slightly qualifies as a movie personally. I think City of Lost Children is a better example, but I'd love to see more.

  • wikipedia got a list of steampunk(ish) movies, but if you want a quick choice I must recommend sky captain and the world of tomorrow. Very good film.

  • @bloodrunsclear how about a posr apocalyptic steampunk action adventure, which is two hours long and involves alot of badass scenes?

  • Have you ever read the comic series Steampunk?

That would be AWESOME to see on the big screen :D

  • @bloodrunsclear never read it, but sou nds good :D

  • Check out 'Wild Wild West' from the nineties, i havnt seen it yet but from what i've heard its about a steampunk-ish ninetieth century

  • Another great one is Vidoq, a French detective/science fiction thriller released in the U.S as 'Dark Portals'. Its got a soul sucking alchemist with a 'pure glass' mask, a lightning generator machine, and other goodies like that.

The new Sherlock Holmes also had some nice steampunk elements :)

  • @bloodrunsclear ... what about "Wild, Wild West" with Will Smith? Kind of stupid story, but some cool steampunk gear...

  • Have you seen the trailer for Jonah Hex? That looks to have some steampunk elements too :)

  • @bloodrunsclear By "they" I assume you mean "weta" as there are steampunk movies in existence already?

  • Well, I imagine they've had a hand in several XD

By they I guess I just meant moviemakers in general.

And video game artists too for that matter!

  • @bloodrunsclear see- sky captain and the world of tomorrow

  • @bloodrunsclear mutant chronicles

  • Good call! And Warren Lich most recently :)

  • @bloodrunsclear Have you seen films and stop action animation from the Brothers Quay? One might view Street Of Crocodiles as the dark side of Steampunk.

  • @bloodrunsclear Ahem. *points to Castle In The Sky and raises eyebrows*

  • @bloodrunsclear the league of extraordinary gentlemen, that should be a good starting point for a steampunk film.

  • @bloodrunsclear

Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow?

    LOEOG?

  • @bloodrunsclear There are some steampunk movies. (not very many) Steamboy is an animated one, it's kinda boring but it has a lot of cool inventions. Appearently they are also making the book "Larklight" into a movie. (But it probablly won't have the same steampunk feel the book did.)

  • @bloodrunsclear They already did the movie. Wild Wild West with Will Smith, remember?

  • @bloodrunsclear atlantis the lost empire, look it up

  • those red eyes going up to the screen at the beginning was awesome! kinda made it suck but transitioning it with a heart though =/

    the goliathon 83 looks awesome

  • lol i loved it . it made me bust up...... keep the good work up

  • Absolutely ripping homage to WETA and steampunk!

  • Goons or Go-ons are indeed the Martian variant of a popular 'Sun Hat'

  • goons

  • These and only these will do in the slaying of spine-backed donathids.

  • my favorite is the goliathon 83.

  • +internet for you. Genius commercial.

  • These would SO fit in Arcanum! If only i could use one of these to raid the Vendigroth wastes...

  • GREAT... AETHER!!!

  • Amazing. I love it!

  • lol 1:32

  • "Is this nuclear!?"

    "No... Not really."

  • I know what i want for christmas! :P

  • I say, olde chap, what a bloody, buggery, brilliant collection of Darwinistic devices!

  • I like the F.M.O.M., very sleek design.

  • And now where is the horse ?

    very nicesteampunk adverting.!

  • oh bravo!

  • "Manmelter 3600" Lol!

  • Why not win one of these? The Royal Armouries Museum is offering one as a prize along with a VIP tour of the summer exhibition: Arms and Armour from the Movies: The Wonderful World of Weta with Richard Taylor, creative genius behind WETA.Entry is through their website.

  • that was absolutely amazing! Exellent! Now I know i must have one of these fine instruments of mass destruction;)

  • u mean :weapons of mas distraction.

  • BRILLIANT! *puffs cigar*

  • Fine instruments of mass destruction lol.

  • The bit with the horse is a scream!

  • I have seen this commercial so many times i always go to see the both where they sell these at comic con feeling a small bit drawn toward buying one but i will not give three hundred dollars for a fake gun although i must admit did buy some thing similar the legendary Halo 3 edition the one with the Spartan helmet looks cool but i later regretted getting it

  • Brillant!

  • Oh god I love that. Pure genius!

  • me want 1!!!! ;)

  • there selling one of these in Forbidden Planet, Liverpool, UK. And I have to say they look real nice!

  • Brutally funny steampunk commercial. :-DDD Kudos to the team that made it ! ;-)

  • dude...he was before monty python. HE IS THE PYTHON

  • Thought we were talking about Charlie Chaplin for some odd reason...never mind...

  • hilarious :)

  • Fantastic! And a wonderful send-up of Monty Python humor!

  • I hope I win the whole set!

  • This is sooo cool. In the good ol' Monty Python style. Truely amazing. Great Work.

  • That is awesome

  • Well done. Very clever.

  • This is pretty much the coolest thing i have ever seen.

  • best freakin *infomercial* ever !!! WIN !

  • Very cool! I loved the visual effects on the horse! Check out my video "The New Weapon BRM12000" for more raygun fun. I would appreciate some comments...

  • I love you.

  • well done, I love it

  • This is amazing. Simply hilarious.

  • sTeam Punk goodness

  • I love vsf, so I love this. However, I wonder how the FX were done on the horse? Seems fairly advanced.

  • Hi there,

Thanks for your comments and question.

The FX were much easier than you'd imagine.

We merely mapped the horse's legs and rope in 2-D no less, then 'removed' the horse, and animated the legs and the falling rope.

    Just like that! :)

    Cheers

  • This stuff is so fun, I have the Weta catalog, I ended up having to get the tiny Goliathon 83 (mines #28) as well -I lose it over the horse scene every single time. I've spread this vid all over the SoCal CG FX community. Well done indeed! -Good show! -Dave

  • Viva la venusian princesses!

    Viva la steampunk!

  • Hahah :D this is just marvelous!! :D

Though I'm against hurting animals, I CAN take good humor and the horse part was hilarious! :D I was in tears after the legs fell.. :D:D

I find this commercial PERFECT and I wish this was a real one *roll eyes* Do make more! ^_^ *delighted*

  • Jolly good show, old chap.

  • lol, nice

  • This is made of pure awesome.

  • I'd love one, but sweet jesus, almost $700?

  • Great work! I've loved steampunk ever since The Chaos Engine games on the Amiga. What a great concept!

  • I keep calling, but I get a twenty minute recorded message that finally tells me to "press one", so I do, and now I'm on hold, listening to bloody Perry Como! Now it says to press 2 to repeat message. Dear Gods! They just switched to an Andy Gibb song... I have no choice!! Dammitall!!

  • i want 3!

  • Brilliant!

  • hahah man that videos fking awesome :P
